Thanks a lot. How do you plant the seed of the sorghum. I see you have clumps of sorghum. Do you put more seeds in one hole or do you plant one seed in a hole and the clump is forming by pruning and reshooting?

The will clump up naturally, but you can plant 3 seeds in each hole or sow them in line, 10-15 seeds per meter. It'll depend on what sort of companion plants you have around

    Great vid.
Is it sorghum or sudanxsorghum. If sorghum bicolor would you use hybrid seed?
We are just emerging with first cut of black oats after the winter. Strangely the sudanx we used last winter even in frosty zones shows signs of coming up again after winter however looks like a bad influence just hanging in there.Nevertheless it was quite a workhorse thru summer with about 4 cuts around a meter each and yes we had some massive OP sweetcorn amongst it too.
Good korero on the Patreon too.

Sorghum bicolor. I wouldn't use hybrid seeds because it would ruin them point of reusing my own seeds. If I was using sorghum as a commercial crop or as the main crop for producing my animal feed I'd consider using high production hybrid varieties.
This is great information that the sudan is coming back after frosts. If it comes back healthy, you'll get another 4 cuts this summer =)
      Cheers!

I planted some castor beans after seeing them in your agroforest but people have been warning me they are very weeding and invasive. Has that been a problem for you?

    • @AgroforestryAcademy

The plants which have invasive potential are the best, because they are the ones who manage to produce huge amounts of organic matter and improve current soil conditions. There’ll be weeds, whether we like it or not. We might as well choose the weeds we want to manage =)
