All About Ableton Audio Effects - Glue Compressor
The Glue Compressor, developed in collaboration between Cytomic and Ableton is an Analog Modeled dynamic processor based on the SSL Bus Compressor that is known for it's gluing and fattening effects.
The device also features a built-in soft clipper which can add color and saturation when driven.
It can be used on groups (like a drum group/bus), parallel compression and a mastering effect.

Also, I learned tonight that the Threshold changes when you change Ratio. It is not fixed, but follows the Ratio knob. You can even see it in your video at 2:58 when you go from 4-1 to 2-1, it compresses more suddenly which is weird if you don't know this.

The "Q" stands for "Quality Factor" and is the ratio of center frequency to the selected bandwidth. It's a core part of any equalizer - so check out our video on EQ Eight to understand it deeper:

Range knob - it does more than just limit the range. it affects the sound, if you try it. wondering how...

The range will simply set a ceiling on how much compression can occur, in dB. You might be hearing changes to perceived loudness, or pronounced colour of the glue compressor, in accordance with the range you're setting.
