Results of the National End of Life Survey 2023

The National End of Life Survey is the first national survey asking bereaved people about the care provided to a family member or friend in the last months and days of their life. The purpose of the survey is to learn from people’s experiences of end-of-life care in order to improve the services provided both to people who are dying, and to their loved ones.
The findings show that almost 89% of participants rate the care that their relative or friend received at the end of their life as ‘good’ or ‘very good’. The survey also identifies several areas where care could be improved.
