- Right from Naseeb to Amar Akbar Antony, Dharm Veer, Parvarish, Coolie, Desh Premee and many memorable films, Manmohan Desai gave Amitabh Bachchan some of his most popular films. At the helm of production was Ketan Desai his son who learnt the ropes of film making from Mann ji as he. was fondly called. Ketan went on to marry Shammi Kapoor's daughter and produce his own films - Anmol, Allah-Rakha, and Toofan. Ketan Desai is known for Love You Hamesha(2001), Deewana Mastana(1997), and Hero No.1(1997) too.

While Ketan assisted his father during the shoot of the films Parvarish, Amar Akbar Anthony, watch the part where he talks of the film Naseeb and the famous song John, Jaani, Janardhan filmed on Amitabh Bachchan. The firs of its kind sequence in Hindi cinema has the then top Bollywood stars attend a party at this hotel where Amitabh Bachchan works as a waiter. Ketan Desai recollects how the coordination of star dates to film the song was handled by him meticulously. It was Raj Kapoor who helped them to ensure that stars came on time.

This is very fascinating to watch especially us who grew up in Mumbai, knew Director Manmohan Desai film maker / director of most successful commercial movies prominently “ Amar Akbar Anthony”
Even knew location of kheteadi lane, simple Bombay life. The spoken language of Ketan Desai his son is so familiar e we Ho lived in Bombay especially in central Bombay.

Manmohanji didn't care for logic but made every scene very convincing and took cinematic liberty to its extreme. He also had a quality of recognizing a good actor.

Manmohan was the laziest director his flims were illogical but they worked for a while.
