Honor 10 Lite Review | Best new budget smartphone?

- Full review of the Honor 10 Lite, a 199 pound smartphone launching in the UK at the start of 2019. Chris has been testing Honor's latest budget mobile, to see if the specs, camera tech, performance, battery life and Huawei's EMUI 9 software combine to make this a great affordable handset.
The Honor 10 Lite is even cheaper than last year's Honor 8X, yet you still get some good-looking hardware. That disco finish is back from the original Honor 10, while the Lite model still sports a crisp Full HD+ display. And while the camera tech is simplified, you do have Huawei's smart Night mode which produces great quality photos in low light. Not to mention the AI scene recognition.
But is this the best budget Honor phone you can buy in 2019? Personally we prefer the 8X, but the Honor 10 Lite is still a decent handset for the cost - we'd just recommend holding off until those little bugs and performance issues have been sorted in an update.

@@asiyaaden1629 I've got one and it's pretty good! It mostly depends what kind of earphones you have, sound quality can differ from brand to brand of earphones but the speaker on the phone itself is pretty good!
My Honor 10 Lite never stutters and in my opinion is a brilliant phone for currently £149

Im thinking if this or a Huawei p smart. The only thing putting me off either is this Google problem, what's people's thoughts on the future for these two phones?
Both these smartphones came out before the Google problem, they should have all the apps you want.
I felt like getting this phone for myself but I decided to check out the features on UA-cam and found out that the phone is madly cool
I've got this phone and I absolutely love it had it for years sadly the charging port broke fixable when you find the right person to do it

Would you recommend the Huawei Honor 10 lite over the Umidigi f1?
I think the problem is that the prices for the original models have dropped when the light versions come out. Even compared to the Honor 9 Lite there is not much in terms of innovation here, and 3 GB of RAM in 2019 is really laughable but hey, the Huawei P Smart 2019 also only has 3 GB RAM, the same rear camera, water drop notch. Micro USB Port. Just the front camera is different, so basically another Honor / Huawei repackaged phone, which gets boring I think!

@Ultra Micky Buy the Honor 10 lite, basically the same phone but Honor 10 has a better camera plus it has a screen protector pre-installed and a case and is cheaper.
For a few extra dollars you get p smart z but you need to make rare selfies

No as they are test models, I imagine if he gives a very good review of something they most likely would off him one or a big discount.

I had to stop half way. A kirin 710 soc with 3gb of Ram? You're better off simply getting the 8X for 230 quid. Looks nicer too. All in all the 10lite seems pointless... Just more saturation of the market and honor range. Honor could dominate (as it already does the stats are out for mid range market share 2018) with just the 8x,the play and new view 20. I honestly don't know why you'd make a 10lite...
The lite phones always drop in price a few months after launch. When it hits around the £150 it will be a great bargain and will sell very well.
It has the exact same kirin 710 cpu and the exact same gpu, as well as ram as the 8x.
Correction - it doesn't have the same ram, 3gb of ram on the 10 lite, and 4gb on the 8x. Tbh I think the 8x warrants the extra £20

Even more of a deal now. It's £169.95 at a number or retailers! While it may be a budget phone, if you can't afford a flagship phone, the specs and looks are extremely respectable, especially for those on a budget.

I purchased mine for £200.in March. Loved it at first. But within 6 weeks it started shutting down for no reason. I went back to carphone warehouse to be told they won't replace it.

This one as the p smart only has 3gb ram while this has 4/6gb ram

Can someone tell me what is the maximum shutter time in night mode?
I bought motorola power from Argos,but it wouldn't charge,so returned it but they had no more in-stock so got honor 10 lite,no one hand mode.not as good as the power,I wish I had of waited for Argos to send a replacement

@@goliath1961 Hey - it's not entirely lag free. It struggles often, and it does not have totally smooth performance. The audio/sound quality is also quite low. But for the price, it definitely has a lovely screen, and the size makes it really comfortable to hold, and due to it being plastic, it does have a nice grip. The GPS is poor though, as are the WiFi speeds. It does not connect to 5ghz wifi. Only 2ghz. Keep that in mind. 4g speeds are not that great either.

There seems to be very little in it, I think I'm right in saying the honor has a better selfie camera (doesn't bother me lol).
I have when people point out "affordable" as a plus/con. That's not a good thing, cheaper phones are always going to have worse performance quality than expensive/top tier ones.
Everyone can check out the price of the phone in an instant and decide if they can afford it or not.
what is the little hole at the top of the phone for? it's located just to the side of the SIM removal tray?
Umm its for poking the little spikey thing in and opening the sim tray, (said spikey thing is in the box) :)

I do like your video's but like a lot of review's you have missed out on important features missing. This phone does not support" always on " WHICH could be a deal breaker for some people. Also not much was mentioned about the dual sim facility??????
so there's no option to disable gestures and bring up a navigation bar with home, back button etc?
there is that option...settings then System, then System Navigation and hey presto! 3 choices 1. Gestures 2. Three key navigation and 3. Navigation dock ( not tried that, looks sort of apple-ish)

When I phone a land line from my honor 10 lite it works fine but when I call another mobile they can't hear me unless I put the speaker on the which is very strange could anyone please help

oh definitely NOT the now unsupported iphone 6 or any iphone for that matter in my opinion they are so boring, I have an Iphone SE which is basically a chunky and tougher iphone 6s and it runs ios 13 but its just a tool, no fun.

Mine is on 9.1 at the moment. I had android 10 on a google pixel 3a and didn't really like it, 10 or the phone .

You can hide the dangling doo dah you know in display settings
I'm using this phone here and the camera looks bad :( autofocus didn't works well and video shoots just keep instantly refocusing while shooting.
Just don't buy this phone if you like to take shoots.
Performance is quite decent. Gaming in medium settings is great but not in highest settings. What can be expect from Kirin SoC :')
Mono speaker for this phone is surprisingly loud. Even at the lowest volume, you can feel the louder of the volume. Bass and treble is decent, not too good or bad. Just fine for mid range phone.
Works in android 10 now. So you could get the latest software but will not able to get more software update if I'm not mistaken.
Is this phone is worth it in August 2020? I think it is better to find a latest mid range available now as you can get better camera, software, build quality and performance :')

Does phone has smart facility to connect to tv?
Huawei gives me a headache. They don't provide dual sim plus SD card option. You need to use 2nd sim or SD card. And if you are using both sims then you have to go all the way to sim management to switch between sim cards to use mobile data. They don't solve it like samsung do. Why Huawei why? !!!!😭😭🤧

I've owned both the 8X and 10 Lite and the 8X really isn't worth the extra bit of money in my opinion. This is the best value phone on the market pretty much, or at least was.

Why is it so cheap? It's half the price of iPhone 6S
it usually has to do with how long they plan on supporting the the phone i.e. giving it the newest version of android, doing bug fixes and the like. Where they source their parts from also play a huge deal as the the price of the phone. Also iPhones are stupidly overpriced just like most apple products also they have made themselves a status symbol which means people will buy them just to be able to say they have one.

Micro USB and plastic back in 2019 for 200 bucks - shitty phone for that price!
It's actually a very good phone for the price. I don't mind micro usb as I have loads of cables the phone looks great and is very solid. I always put a case in my phone anyway. Excellent phone.
The charge lasts for a good while so the USB isn't a problem n the back doesn't give you the feeling of plastic my only problem is the smudges lol
