- Navigation and Position with the Navipack designed by Inmotion ,it's not only a 2D lidar ,but also a smart brain with the SLAM algorithm inside ,with the Navipack ,robot can located any where indoor , and build the map ,then choose the best way to the destination by itself !

navipack ... does pretty standard things right out of the box from standard software libraries xD

Just powered my Hero 2000 that I bought 31 years ago, to see if he was still working. Not a sound. I forgot that I had added a speaker bypass option in such that I could use my computer speakers instead, when ever busy doing Hero's basic programming. I switched it back to the on board speaker, and bingo, "Hello, I am Hero 2000. Please enter the following data....".
That screeching sound makes me want to rip my ears off. Please. Don't put that sound in. Other than that, cool robot.

Very interesting, I was wondering if the whole system (including slam module, moving car, auto charger) is commercially available. I'd like to buy one for making nice video.

Slam give us map or path?
slam = simultaneous localization and mapping, means both at once
(1)Yes SLAM gives you a map.
SLAM give you (a) Current Location and (b) map of the environment (obstacle information etc).
(2) No SLAM doesn't give you path. Path-planning gives you path.
Path-planning software use the output of SLAM; (a) location and (b) map to produce a path.
