On Rupay, I had Tata Neu Inifinity.
The issue is that Rupay allows UPI to only merchants, but most of the small ticket transfers / payments to shops are done on personal UPI of the shopkeeper. so Rupay wont be accepted, it will be deducted from your bank account only, not CC
Yes, you are right. Though this is a good way to earn points on any small amounts of UPI spends you do to merchants (if they don't have a POS terminal & have a merchant account), and also for websites which charge extra for CC v/s UPI :)

Unfortunately usual merchants like milkbasket, big basket, amazon pay don't work. If you have any suggestions where you're able to automate it - do share.
Most Axis Bank CC now have no value after devaluation 2.0.

I agree, Axis cards seem to be pretty useless as things stand. My recommendation would be to try and get Infinia or Diners black from HDFC. If not, you can try SC Ultimate. You can also get the Amex Plat travel card for spends upto 4L per year.
If your spends are specific to a particular category like Amazon, Swiggy, Myntra - it makes sense to get their co-branded credit cards.
SC ultimate is also on the brink of becoming useless. Unlike before, too many exclusions + voucher options have gone terribly bad recently.

Hi, you can check sbi vistara prime or idfc vistara. Both will give vistara tickets on hitting spend milestones. Idfc charges 249/- for rent payments and SBI prime doesn't give CV points for rent (but rent is counted towards milestone spends).

Hi, hdfc infinia is given basis your relationship with the bank. Do you have any relationship with the bank? An easy way to do this can be to open an imperia account with hdfc bank and then ask them to give you an infinia

By education, do you mean school fee? If yes, it works if your school portal accepts it. The school fee counts towards milestone spends. Great choice of cards too. In fact if you spend 20K monthly on MRCC, the value you'll get will be even more. Video coming up soon!

What are better ways of paying and automating payments of your CC besides CRED
If it's amex, you can set up a nach mandate from any savings bank account. For other cards, unfortunately to enable autopay, you need a savings account in that particular bank.

Is redemption better with Vistara economy voucher?
Redemption has been quite poor for me personally. I've almost never been able to use the premium economy voucher or the class upgrade voucher. You must plan well in advance - more than 3-4 months. This was the reason I cancelled my SBI prime vistara card.

depends on the hotel you are booking. If it’s a new property that Marriott wants to promote - you can easily get 1:1 value. But if it’s a well established hotel during peak season, you can get somewhere around 30 paise per Marriott point.

It depends on what your spends are. Hdfc gives good value for spends on Marriott hotels. But beyond that, amex travel seems to be better value for spends upto 4 lacs.
Having said that, the joining benefit of hdfc Marriott is tempting (almost 2.5x of the fee you pay). Maybe if you are planning to stay at a Marriott hotel anyway, get the card just to get that 1 night at a cheaper rate. But beyond that, amex travel seems to be providing better value. Hi Rajat. I've seen 2 cases of MRCC LTF:
1. You get the FYF card and then negotiate with Amex at the end of Y1
2. You get a higher variant (Like Amex Plat) and they give you MRCC as LTF
I got my Amex Plat LTF when they set up a kiosk at my office and after some time they offered LTF MRCC as well.
Anmol mentioned using credit card to pay via googlepay if I caught that right. How can that be set up on Gpay?
It only works for Rupay cards and payment can be done only on merchant qr. I do use it all the time to pay even minimum amounts. Your CA will love it as he will not have to dig through your savings account statement full of small payments

You can use Amex Plat Travel for such payments since it counts towards the 1.9L/4L milestone
Most cards have stopped giving points on govt spends. You might still get milestone points.

SBI prime has stopped rent related consideration in points as well as milestones from 15th April effectively. So no use of any SBI card now

@@pranayk37 Also, why no talk about Accor in the video? They provide the best value per point of 1 point = Rs 1.82. Marriot points are worth Rs 0.3-0.4 on their properties. So using Accor should be a no brainer right?

how is amex 48000 MR points worth 65k aprox. even if we convert MR to mariot bonvoy during year end with 1.3 marriot points for 1 MR and 1 Marriot point quivalent to 0.33 rs so i dont understand this. Am i missing something?
Its about worth 30-35K at best
Many Marriott properties would give you >1 per points conversion

Since 1/4/2024 SBI is not giving any reward points on rent payment, you should put it in a disclaimer so that people don't run after it.
Sbi has stopped giving points for rent payments. However they're still counting it towards milestone benefits as confirmed by them over call. So I think it's still the best option out there. But you're right, points aren't being given - I'll add it as a comment

How to make the most of the Amex Membership Rewards points?
Anmol mentioned that 135000 MR points would be worth 135000/- INR if used correctly and more when the bonus offer comes in.
Can you please explain that.
The simple way is transfer it to marriott bonvoy at 1:1 ratio. And then avail it on hotels that are offering a 1:1 redemption value. For example, Westin Himalayas in rishikesh: you could book a night for 25000 points, and typically it costs 25000 INR.

SBI also has stopped giving points on rent payments in April itself. Now this vistara cards are also in dicey state as no one is sure what would happen to CV program considering FR has come up with revamped program.
Also the information regarding Plat charge is also incorrect. It was giving 135k MR and only 10K voucher on b’day month.
No other Taj vouchers other than this, pls correct the video or else put disclaimers as it is wrong information.

On SBI cards - they’re still counting rent towards milestone benefits. We called and checked with them. Will confirm back once that is credited.
On Amex plat - they offer one of the two joining benefits (depending on your profile, any ongoing promotions etc). When I got the Amex plat card in Oct 2022, the joining benefit was 45k taj vouchers, and no MR points. At the time we recorded this video, they were offering 135K MR points to some users (and not the taj vouchers).
And as early as last week - they’re now giving a 125K MR points offer to some customers (or 45K taj vouchers). In fact I’ve availed that offer and gotten a plat charge card to avail this 125K MR points offer.
Hence, I don’t think the information is incorrect, it’s only a matter of what joining benefits do they offer at different points in time.

Closing a credit card will negatively impact your credit score. You will see a decrease in your score as bureaus don’t have access to your credit information or behavior anymore.
Closing a credit card will remove the associated credit history and lowers the average length of your credit history.

Hi Sarthak, Anmol checked with SBI, they said that rent payments will be counted towards the milestone benefits. Hence he is continuing to pay rent with SBI. Will update when he gets the milestone benefits
Axis atlas is a good card too
I agree. It’s just that I don’t want to get a new axis card because they’re on a devaluation spree. Moreover I’ve had multiple bad episodes with their customer care so personally not very keen.
Having said that, I know people are maximising their spends with Atlas!

Just not a fan of axis and living under the constant fear of a devaluation. But I know people who are getting good cashbacks on Atlas

Hi, this is subjective depending on your annual spends. For travel, you can consider the vistara cards with sbi or axis. Same as what Anmol uses in the video.
Rent is tricky given most cards have stopped giving points on rent payments. You can check standard chartered ultimate but it charges an additional 1% charge for rent payment so the benefit is minimal.
SBI Vistara Prime cards and IDFC Vistara cards are good ones for this. You will get 4-5 Vistara tickets just by paying your rent (with an added 0.6-1.6% fees)

There have been devaluations in both cards recently.
SBI Vistara Prime: No CV points on rent spends
IDFC Vistara: Min Rs. 249 fees (1%+GST) for rent payments and 1%+GST on utility payments above 20k/month.
However, both allow rent payments to be counted for milestone spends, and the real value comes from the Vistara vouchers you get for hitting the milestones.

Varies on a case by case basis. Anmol (from my credit card video) got one through his employer at the time (MakeMyTrip)

Hi, thanks for your comment and glad you liked the video. This circular came out after we shot the video. Upon further enquiry with SBI, we learnt that they will continue to include rent as a part of the milestone spends. Which is where maximum value is generated anyway. However we don't know if they'll actually do it or not - Anmol is continuing his rent payment and will update when he reaches the milestone.

Itna kaam kaun karega, i am on a simplification spree of having one cc, 1 bank account besides 1 sbi, 6-7 mutual funds, no debt fund since the plan is long term but i might review this and add 2 debt funds in anticipation of rate cuts, 1 demat account, i think wealth creation happens when you declutter things and be pound wise rather than penny wise and keep the big picture in mind

Which is why I have tried to automate card payments so it's simplified. And I actively avoid cards where I don't have a savings account (since I can't automate then).
On demat - agreed again. I have two however because I want to derisk a little among brokers.
And in my mutual fund video - I used the exact same phrase of penny wise pound foolish (in the context of making a brokerage account with interactive brokers over vested, etc)!

Nope. A few days after this video went live, SBI stopped giving points on rent payments. However, they still give milestone benefits which is where the real value lies.
The reason I won't get it is because a) I don't pay rent b) I don't like vistara points and vouchers, very hard to redeem them due to unavailability of seats.
Well I did take this card as I pay home rent, hoping if I purchase 3months prior I’ll get vistara flight.
You will still get the flight vouchers. Milestone spends are on.

Most cards don't give regular reward points for govt payments now. You might still get milestone points.

Depends on the property.. I normally book at atleast 1:1
For newer properties that they want to promote, you can get 1:1. For older more established properties, you will get about 0.5 rupee value per point. Also depends on the season when you're visiting
Yes, so a good strategy is to use those points for higher value whenever you are looking to visit those places - the points don't expire
