This is so helpful! Thank you Dr. I think this technique can most surely be taught to teachers as well. Which will only enhance relationships with their students..as Connie Elliot say it is finding the hero within
Thank you, Adam. Any thoughts when a youth/teen client responds with an "I don't know." type of reply as you're trying to weave together the prefered outcome of their parent/mandated service provider along with their preferred outcome? I often find myself getting stuck when a client is forced to come to therapy and I ask them a best hopes question. I notice they are able to articulate that they no longer want to be in therapy, and even expand on this preferred outcome, however, because of their mandated status due to parents whom want the child to improve their behavior, they don't progress in treatment because what they want is to stop coming to therapy all together. Thanks for your insight!
This helps what about teens who are struggling with self-esteems and their home environment is causing the insecurity
Really helpful.
Thanks Dr. This was just what I needed. I was thinking about self esteem and anger management with several of my young male clients.

Thank you for sharing. I'm working on making more reflexive questions...
