I feel my soul so wonderfully ,so highly thrilled when the women with whom I meet smell of this truly amazing ''Le Perfum'' of the great lebanese designer Elie Saab! Thank you Mr.Saab !
Great review! And now, nearly a decade later, we know it's not just Elie Saab, the wonderful Lebanese Perfumer, responsible for this long beloved perfume. The actual nose behind it was none other than the master of our times - Frances Kurkdjian - of MFK - and since 2021 - also heading up Dior! Wow!
In Mexico we use orange blossom scent to make "pan de muerto" sweet bread. I know how it smells since I was 5 years old. When I smelled Elie Saab it reminded me of my mom's kitchen on "Day of the Death". (and this is good :)
Hi. Bought my 3rd bottle and came back to listen to your review. I get so many compliments on this fragrance, I like to hear what people say about it. Neroli and orange blossom are not the same. There is orange blossom, and then, Neroli = bitter orange blossom essential oil. This essential oil is pretty expensive. By the way, the word neroli is commonly mispronounced among English and American English speaking people. The tonic accent is on the first syllabe (ne) not on the second one (ro) ;) and, yes, Elie Saab is most definitely a man xx
I blind bought this and it’s just so lovely. Definitely a sharp, strong sambac jasmine and a white floral I cannot pin point (probably the orange blossom everyone is taking about in it).
I am hooked, I need to try this asap! .I love orange blossom and jasmine, growing up I lived in the country side and we had a beautiful jasmine bush and orange trees close to my window, the scent god deeper during night time, I would open the window and fall asleep with the mixture of both.
I absolutely love this perfume. it has two of my absolute favorite notes Orange Blossom & Jasmine. Really pretty! I was shcked by the bad reviews on this one, but I guess it's just not for everybody
Yeah it took me a moment to warm up to it because I normally wear lighter scents and this is definitely richer. I am beginning to love it though and contemplating purchasing a back up bottle.
I just wanted to say that it brought a smile to my face watching you gush over this fragrance, because it makes me feel the same way! My only problem is that I can’t decide between this or the Intense version- which is AH-MAY-ZING! Btw- if you enjoy a bit of neroli, have you come across Ermenegildo Zegna’s Acqua Di Neroli? Orange Blossom is such a ‘happy place’ scent for me, I had a grapefruit tree in my garden as a child and the blossoms smell very similar 🥰
I haven't tried that one! I should try it! Orange blossom is so lovely in any perfume it's placed. It gives a lovely honeyed green aspect and I'm here for it!
we life in the heart of "orange country" here in Florida, surrounded by orange groves. when the 1000s of trees are in bloom together, and we open the windows, its the most intoxicating scent you can imagine.! just beautiful.! I love these perfumes too.! (also I'm male born) but love wearing feminine perfumes.!
Hi! Late to the party. Again! In case you haven’t had an answer to your question about Orange Blossom and Neroli, here it is: the difference is that Neroli is the product of steam distillation and Orange Blossom is extracted through something called, ‘Enfleurage’. Orange Blossom tends to smell warmer and more floral while Neroli is more subtle. Neroli is called that because the Princess of Neroli loves steam distilled Orange Blossom.
Yep!!! hehe thanks. I learned this when starting my perfume course. I'm not sure they use the enfleurage method anymore as it's SO time consuming but so awesome. I think it's mainly done through solvent extraction now for speed. Still, I would love to see enfleurage in person that would be awesome.
Probably not! It would likely make the cost of perfume even more prohibitive than it already is. I would love to see the whole process as well. I’m a big nerd when it comes to stuff like that.
I collect all of the fragrances MFK worked on. I have 20 or so perfumes and 2 colognes (JPG Me Male Ultra and Armani Mania-discontinued unfortunately)...but I only decants from the actual MFK house. This le parfum is on the list. Excellent review!
Elle saab is a lebanese designer ,he not she .i cant believe that a lot doesn't know him ,most of celebrates on the red carpet wears Elle saab dresses . This perfume based on lebanese jasmine and the famous cedars of Lebanon tree which is mentioned in the old testament .
Thank you for letting me know this perfume has Lebanese notes in it. Because it's 80th anniversary of the establishment of Lebanon this year. I wanted to buy the perfume which has scents from Lebanon. Thank you so much! Just for your information, I'm a big fan of Andre Soueid, Lebanese artist.
This perfume is actually very inexpensive in Denmark and I think I am going to buy it. You have done an excellent review. I love his Girl of Now Perfume - although it took some time getting used to. To me it smelled a bit like a cake at first.
Which elie saab perfume is similiar to rose couture perfume ??elie saab le parfum is similiar to elie saab rose couture ??your video's are great by the way
I finally got round to listening to your review of Elie Saab. Wonderful! I have the Eau de Toilette and the dry down is a sharp, spicy vetiver. It's awesome. I'm on day 6 of wearing and I rarely wear a frag more than twice in a row! I found it in TJ Maxx for a steal! check it out if you can. Thanks for your great reviews!!
Isn't it just beautiful? I'm glad ya like it. It's orange blossom amongst other things that work so well. And the quality? It' lasts SO well. Hard to find nowadays with a designer fragrance. :)
i think if you had amarige you might have found a similarity between them, only that i find amarige the skanky version of le parfum and le parfum is somewhat more citrusy so it instantly becomes more clean and bright and classy, on the other hand amarige is all about flowers as well but in a dirty hot summer day with messy hair, flowery yellow dress sweat and love under the tree shadow ;) but elie saab is classy freshly washed lady into a pool of flowers ,or something like waterfall full of flowers
+valbona bergman What a fantastic way to describe them both! I actually do have a sample of Amarige, maybe I'll do a side by side comparison to see what you mean. :)
I loved Amarige when I was 16, in 1996... It brings me back wonderful memories... not sure it would be my fragrance today... we change... I have Elie Saab in my wish list for so long and I bought others first. I'm definitely buying it now. :)
I own Elie Saab orginal and I think it best one made, there others even with resort line. I think this one was made richer and classic fragrance. I going to buy another bottle and be broke $$$$ 😂😂😂at least I smell good, you live once why not enjoy yourself😉 My hairdresser is male and wear this as his summer and spring scent, he always gets compliments. It unique fragrance not typical. Great review. 😉🤓
Oh, interesting! What is the difference in the smell? I have resort collection and always thought that the difference in the color only... I never had a chance to smell the original...
actually you're saying the name quite right (close to the lebanese arabic pronunciation of the name) and he's is a man not a woman ... he is the most know Arab designer ... he dresses up most of the world's celebrities like shakira beyoncé and a lot more ... about the name (if you could pronounce it the opposite way that is make the first E short and the last IE longer éliiii if you can get what I mean)
Oh my gosh he's a man!!! Amazing. Thank you! I guess I should have researched him a bit more. I'm so enamoured by the fragrance that it never crossed my mind to look up the designer. Although the perfumer behind it is Francis Kukdjian who has made some amazing perfumes. I want to go and look at Elie Saabs designs now. :)
Lovely review! Elie Saab Le Parfum is a gorgeous one. Actually I get a slight similarity between this one and Alien Essence Absolue. I guess it's the jasmine mixed with some sweet notes that makes me think of that, just in AEA it's more dense.
Hi, This is some heavy duty magic in a bottle! It lasts for a very long time. Sometimes, I layer/spray my clothes in the closet, and the whole closet still smells wonderful days later. Projection is strong as well. I'd purchase it again just because of the amazing lasting power...and they lovely scent of course.
The original is so intense already I can’t imagine a more intense lol I fell in love with this when I walked past it when it first came out yes it is expensive. I would say it can be a bit too strong for some not really a work day fragrance more of a special event perfume or ladies lunch!
My mom has this fragrance and she lend it to me for a week for testing and I was mesmerized by it.. I was convinced to buy it and to use it as a regular daily parfume. But then I read some reviews saying that it is nothing especial, actually boring fragrance and I started doubting. And then I re-watched your review and I will stick to your opinion because what you are saying is 100% what I thought when I tested it (clean, very pretty non-vanila sweetnes, wedding like etc.). Thank you Ouch :) !!
Agree! This has been on my top shelf for 2 years now- one of my top 5. I think we have the same taste! Have you tried the Leau Couture EDT version? Amazing for warmer weather!
Hello! I actually have the couture one in sample form so, it's on my list to review!! It's a nice one but totally different isn't it? People keep mentioning another version of it called "resort" or something? I need to try that one for sure.
I bought this fragrance due to your reviews. I looooove it. I think it can become my signature scent. It is so pretty and feminine. The opening reminds of JLo's Still. Did you also find that similarity?
I recently discovered your channel and became an addict pretty much from the first video :) I love you reviews and the way you describe the fragrances. I wonder if you have a Resort Edition and if there’s a difference between them?
Hi Thomas hope you are doing well !!! I just bought my FIRST bottle of Elie Saab Limited Edition, yesterday...and had to buy a back up today!!!!!!! thats how much i loved it! mine is a different version from yours but it smells DIVINE and I find it reminds me of Angel a bit (maybe it s the Sambac Jasmine?) Anyway...im in looove !!
im good thanks !! I thought id found my new fav until my lovely niece (who is 10) hugged me and said "you smell like a candle" ...ouch ! (no pun intended lol) i wasnt expecting that !! sadly, ireturned my 2nd bottle the very next day !!!!!
The dry down for me is pure patchouli. Im rather disappointed. When I smelled it in the store I enjoyed the initial bursts of flowers and sweetness and bought it for my daughter for Christmas. After trying it on, both my daughter and I have the same opinion of the dry down. I suggested she try layering it with another fragrance. Any one else do that? What would you recommend?
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews Thank you! I live by a beautiful beach in Brazil. The tradeoff is i only get designer and mass marketed fragrances, so I hace been wearing Chanel allure sensuelle, chance (less but people like it) and Narciso Rodriguez for her EDT for ages! Now I no longer have Chanel available here, only online and I have been perusing new fragrances..' With your help 😀. So thanks and greetings from 🇧🇷🌴☀️🌊🏝
Hi! Oh wow the bottle is what drew me in to get a test sample too! I got the edt and oh boy did I fall in looove! The only thing was, it didn't last or project very much. So I gave the edp a go. Phew I got a headache straight away . It was beautiful despite that it gave me a headache . It and would have been perfect ! I guess it was the patchouly or Jasmine. :( I keep going back to it to give it more chances because I really want it the edp to work for me. Have you ever smelled guerlain's flora nymphia ? If so do you think it smells really similar to ES? (Edp) Lovin your vides btw 😊
Michelle aka constantconnie Thanks Michelle. Oh that's a shame it gave you a headache. It is one of the stronger perfumes. Although it is clean and gorgeous, it has power so it doesn't need to be sprayed much. I haven't smelled the Guerlain you mention unfortunately. :(
I feel like I get patchouli in the first blast then it instantly dies down and the flowers come through. Like it stands in the front row to bow then goes to the back.
I bought a travel size of le parfum and intense to compare bec I love both sambac jasmine and ylang ylang. I love Le Parfum. Its a true sambac jasmine flower. I can layer this with Philosophy Live Joyously. Philosophy doesn’t last that long but I love the true sambac jasmine flower scent. I’m not too crazy about the intense version. It reminds me of Mugler Angel, the older version... its in the same family. I don’t smell the ylang ylang in it. I have a perfume that I blind bought years ago from ebay called Pleasures Delight. It smells similar to Le Parfum Intense with that old Angel vibe. I will probably layer the two together to use them up. Le Parfum and Live Joyously smells identical.
I will always love this perfume it's so elegant, the intense one was not as pretty or vibrant. But, Elie Saab continues to make beautiful perfumes for sure!
Hey which one from alien or elie saab, will you recommend? Both are on my list. Have tested alien and really liked it but did not try elie saab yet Plz reply soon ! Really trust your choice for fragrance. Help plz!!!! And plz give a review on lancom oud bouqet.
They are very different as one is jasmine based and the other is orange blossom. Alien is more edgy and elie saab more beautfiful and daytime. Get both! haha.
Good suggestion, I will buy both of them :D but the problem is I want narciso Poudre as well, la nuit tresor too and oud bouquet and club de nuit and Michael kors and Stella mcCartney and lair du desert and decadence and so on........... :D I think I will start with some sexy stuff so... alien first!!! Need some edgy sexy fragrances that are loud, any suggestions???
If Elie doesn't watch your review i feel sorry for her..lol...that's a lovely scent. I like it, but i don't have one. Neroli smell greener than orange...thank you so much! :)
hehe aw you are so sweet! Elie is a MAN so I have learned. A man who designs beautiful and elegant clothes for women. It seems his collaboration with the perfumer Francis Kurkjian was a match made in heaven. :)
+ouch110 Fragrance Reviews speaking of Francis Kurkjian, have you taken a sniff of his frags mancera? yesterday i got a sample of rose-vanilla and really liked it, especially the longevity is out of this world
oh i just saw i did a mistake...Kurkjian also co-created for her by narcisso rodrigues not mancera perfume excuse me! but i still like mancera perfume a lot :) sorry dear!
Beautiful! I've got the Le Parfum Eau de Toilette, it smells to me a little citrusy and just gorgeous as well :) I wore six sprays of it to work and nobody said anything... How's the throw on Le Parfum?
I'm really impressed by the quality of this one. It seems to stick around for a long time. Like I said though, it becomes more delicate in the drydown and you lose a lot of the rich jasminey gorgeousness but, it wafts around gently for a long time! :)
+BlueEyedDemonWoman I finally have a bottle of this amazing fragrance EDP...and the EDT which is also amazing but in a more summer floral way....Please do a review on the EDT ...huge winner in my book! PS I was told Elie Saab is a man and his name is pronounced just like the male name Eli.
nice videos. I am elie saab, this is one of the best perfumes. i am a new subbie. you have a nice collection do you have any chanel perfumes hat you can review? i am looking to buy the No. 5 Eau Premiere. thanks
Naa Aa Hello! Thanks for subscribing. :) The only Chanel sample I have to review is Coco. Which I will get round to. I used to have Chance Eau Tendre but I finished it before I decided to do a channel so..it's gone! Coromandel is the top of my list to buy and review though. It's just SO pricey. :(
Lots of fake perfume out there. I had bought the 2 first 2 fragances but the scent didn't last. I think its because they weren't real. I found out the Elie Saab boutique in New York has these perfumes. They ship in the US. The other boutique is in London. I used to buy it at Nordstrom but they stopped selling it 2 years ago. Order from the boutique.
ur review makes me wish I didn't give my elie saab away.. :(( I liked it a lot but I was pregnant and I couldn't stomach it!! it was too rich.... at the time.... I wish I wasn't so hasty.....
I'm completely baffled, I've been blaming amber for this horrible overpowering sensation of a smell I get sometimes in perfumes and I was so sure it was the amber, and I tested this (Elie Saab) the other week and it was beautiful, the top notes were very very pretty but there was a heavy underlying note that I immediately took for amber which stopped me from buying it. But low and behold this has no amber in it. I've had this same bad (to me) note from D&G light blue, from Marc Jacobs Decadence, from Flowerbomb (yeah I this one was weird too), from L'Agent (though I put up with it in this because I really love the fragrance), from Euphoria, from Obsession, that's all I can think of for now. But then I've had other fragrances that apparently have amber in them that I can't detect like Calvin Klein Secret Obsession, Rihanna Reb'l Fleur. For a bit there I wondered if it was the patchouli but I love Jimmy Choo which is apparently fairly heavy on the patchouli. I'm so confused! could it be some other chemical additive that they maybe add to the juice? But then you'd think other people would get the same reaction... Any ideas?

I really like your taste (not only in this review!).
Elie Saab is my favourite designer ever, and his perfume is as feminine as his collections.
Aw thanks!! Yes he certainly made a great debut fragrance. :)

ouch110 Fragrance Reviews Thank you! So thanks and greetings from 🇧🇷🌴☀️🌊🏝
Hi what do u think about the lasting power and the projection
I think it's great!!! I always got great performance with this one, I just hope they didn't reformulate it since my review!
(Edp)
Lovin your vides btw 😊
Michelle aka constantconnie Thanks Michelle. Oh that's a shame it gave you a headache. It is one of the stronger perfumes. Although it is clean and gorgeous, it has power so it doesn't need to be sprayed much. I haven't smelled the Guerlain you mention unfortunately. :(
I feel like I get patchouli in the first blast then it instantly dies down and the flowers come through. Like it stands in the front row to bow then goes to the back.
I love the jasmine in Alien. I’m gonna buy this and the intense version bec I also love ylang ylang. Thanks for your reviews
You’re welcome 😊
Anna Ramos did you end up liking it ?? I wear Alien and want something similar. Alien formulation changed :(
I'm planning on buying l'eau couture, very flowery and nice, I should try this cause I don't even remember how it smelled.
It's a bloody good one. So elegant. I got my best friend this for her wedding. Very versatile. :) x
I am so late anyway just got the perfume now💗 I love it classy and elegant,
How long it stays on you?

I don't know why but I find such similarities between Elie Saab and 24 faubourg by hermes
They both have a very strong orange blossom note that is why! :)
Hey which one from alien or elie saab, will you recommend? Both are on my list. Have tested alien and really liked it but did not try elie saab yet
Plz reply soon !
+ouch110 Fragrance Reviews speaking of Francis Kurkjian, have you taken a sniff of his frags mancera? yesterday i got a sample of rose-vanilla and really liked it, especially the longevity is out of this world
I haven't smelled it no. :( ill look it up! thanks.
oh i just saw i did a mistake...Kurkjian also co-created for her by narcisso rodrigues not mancera perfume excuse me! but i still like mancera perfume a lot :) sorry dear!
His name is pronounced Ali but i think he made it Elie to sound more appealing
No, his name is Elie, as one of the many versions of the name Elijah used in the middle east and especially Lebanon.
And that to say it's never pronounced Ali. Huge difference☺️
Nope. Two completely different names. Ellie in Arabic is the name Eli in English.
Can you review the black ellie saab.
Orange blossom yasmin honey
I smell it and its mainly jasmine ?
Orange blossom is the main focus. :)
Love this perfume!
You made me want to get a bottle.
Try a sample first. :)
Great review
I blind bought this today because of this video
u r saying it right, its a lebanese name , my boss's name was elee
Sold!
Very similar to my way by Armani
This is elegance in a bottle...when I tried this I just kept sniffing my wrist, rolling my eyes and sighing....Will get ASAP!
+BlueEyedDemonWoman Oh great you got it! I really should smell the EDT! I picked up the green coloured on in the airport recently and it was lovely.
nice videos.
Is this man or woman perfume?? Or unisex??
It's..femininity in a bottle. Definitely for a woman.
Is it suitable for date nights?
Where are you going on the date?
@@ouch110 as in, is it suitable for the bedroom? Does it have sex appeal? Can it act as an aphrodisiac? That sort of thing. Lol
@@M.Moadeli123 meaning it depends on where you are going on the date! Hehe. Rock climbing? Theatre? A walk in the park? 👍👍👍
@@ouch110 Hahaaa I meant the aforementioned :D. For that purpose. As in on the bedroom between the sheets. Wink wink
You’ve pronounced the name correctly but Elie is a man, Lebanese 🙂. Love your reviews!
Thanks! Yes I corrected myself in the description box soon after doing this review, always though he was a female. ooops!
How can i know the fake from the original one?!
I wasn’t aware that this perfume had fakes made. :( I would just avoid buying it online or only from people that have great reviews.
What a fragrance.
Please tell me, are they ok for warm summer evenings? Thanks.
Hi Marta, I would say this perfume is absolutely perfect for warm summer evenings. :)
ur review makes me wish I didn't give my elie saab away.. :(( I liked it a lot but I was pregnant and I couldn't stomach it!! it was too rich.... at the time.... I wish I wasn't so hasty.....
+sandycheexmumina Oh no!!! Your nose must have been all wonky, do you think you have been put off for life? You should try it again. :)
You were right about Elie Saab. It's a woman. A Lebanese haute couture female designer. Thumbs up to your perfume review
no! He is male.
He is actually Male, it's a feminine name to my ears, but he is in fact male. Thanks for the thumbs up though!!! :)
elie saab.He is a very famous arab libanese designer.he's the best
Francesca, Cecilia e Demetra He is a male. He is a Libanese Haute Couture Fashion Designer but his name is Elias:)
Always your choices is relate too close to my taste .. its similer to muse by estee louder
And its elie 😁 Not alie ..
He
Elie Saab is a man
I'm completely baffled, I've been blaming amber for this horrible overpowering sensation of a smell I get sometimes in perfumes and I was so sure it was the amber, and I tested this (Elie Saab) the other week and it was beautiful, the top notes were very very pretty but there was a heavy underlying note that I immediately took for amber which stopped me from buying it. Any ideas?
Could it be the cedar? though that doesn't seem to make sense either... I'm grasping at straws, i really want to understand what it is
+SlimjadeyMeme Tell me this, have you ever smelled Shalimar by Guerlain?
No I haven't, it's on my list though! Maybe tomorrow I'll make a trip into town to the nearest department store so I can sample it
The reason I ask is because that has a lot of amber in it. If you don't get that smell or reaction to it, then it definitely isn't amber.
I'll give it a try!
the honey is very overpowering in this one
isn't elie saab a man?
Yes. I was called out on that when I uploaded this video years ago so put in the description hehe. Learned something that day! haha.
Haha...lol ...he is a man:) i thought he is she...:(
Elie Saab is a man! Lol 😆
I have this in White and the kid is plastic and doesn’t fit as well as it should I’d say :( the little things like that matter to me haha x
It sounds like it miiiight be a bit dodgy hehe.
