I was lucky enough to see Rogue Male and Vulcain in Montpellier while I was studying in France. What a show! First Visit was brilliant and very much in the same vein as Motörhead, with a definite punk influence.
First heard "Crazy Motorcycle" on a 4-record collection called "Welcome To The Metalzone" from Music For Nations. Still one of my favorite songs, all these years later! Went right out and bought this record! And, last year, bought both Rogue Male albums on CD. I was stunned that they were finally available on CD! Awesome! Didn't realize that anyone remembered them! Thanks so much for posting this!
Utter mentalists, I had some good times at their shows until I fractured my hip stagediving to "Crazy Motorcycle". I was at this TV recording in the invited audience, they carried on playing after the live TV link was cut, and did another 2 songs. I would pay dearly to get hold of that extra footage.
I consider Jim a close friend. And a Good Friend. I wish I could be in his part of the woods to go see the band play. All you in London And Ireland go see the band and support them. Raise your Fist and give a Hell Yeah for me! Craig USA!
Crazy Motorcycle was my favourite. But this will do just fine. Once we asked a mate if he knew what dressed incognito meant and he replied , yes, I wear a cognito to school all the time. (we were 15. Still we never let him forget it....)
Of course I was attracted by the Terminator-esque cover art of First Visit back in the 1980s. Took album home and was knocked out by "Dressed Incognito" which instantly became one of my ten favorite metal ditties of all time. Still is. That rollicking riff is stupendously splendid. Looked for RM several times here on UA-cam but for some reason never found this clip. Well, I located it today and have played the crap out of it. I'm in metal heaven.
I saw these guys in Indianapolis at the Sherwood which is gone now , one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen absolutely amazing , I saw Metallica at the same place with Dave mustang and it was great ! Anyway Rouge Male is on your trail
Man I agree.....I was at the Sherwood and Rogue Male was the 2nd band on opening for Svatage and they tore the roof off the place. Remember Ace Cosby of Q95 handing out free Rogue Male albums?? Good Times!!
I remember seeing Rogue Male in Kerrang(when it was a real music magazine) they should've been bigger and done a lot better! These 2 tracks are nothing in comparison to the Animal Man album, but a good starting point!
The new album is out, I ordered my copy from their website, and it was actually sent direct by Jim Lyttle no less! He signed it too. Its pretty good, and you can hear all the old Rogue Male fury in there, it doesn't sound like GMT which is a good thing I think. Jim says he has a killer lineup now, and theyre sposed to be playing a few shows at the end of the year, I can't wait!
In the early 80's Rogue Male opened up for Savatage and Metal Church at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City. Promotional copies of their debit album were handed out at the door. By the end of their set the albums were being tossed back at them. I think metalheads weren't ready for Rogue Male. I have always loved the band though.
Album isn't out yet, they are looking at an April release I think. Tour? who knows, lets hope they do, it will be the first time I've seen them since 1986! Damn they were good live!!!
@zepromz They've reformed?!?!?!? I just found this on UA-cam, still have this on vinyl and have wondered what happened to them. What's the name of the album?
Not reissue, as the label still owns the release. However...they can remaster it and release an updated version. Most contracts allow for remastering after 7 years.

Yeah vulcain and rogue male in the same time . As you said you were lucky . I hope you enjoyed this show . I am a french guy and i am jealous . 😄

Dave Mustang should have been his name to be fair.
Man I agree.....I was at the Sherwood and Rogue Male was the 2nd band on opening for Svatage and they tore the roof off the place. Remember Ace Cosby of Q95 handing out free Rogue Male albums?? Good Times!!

I really like Devastation off of "First Visit"
@@mikekennedy8644 actually Animal Man is totally Boring and slow
Crazy Motorcycle song is way better than the whole Animal Man album

@windigo44 wish i could have seen them. they supported saxon in the states back then
I saw them 1984-85 ? - they were great live
First Visit was released in the USA in 1985 on Elektra records, but its tough to find, the European pressing on MFN is easier to get hold of.

des boss
Drummer should of had a drum raiser in the shape of a Mad Max vehicle equipped with a flamethrower and roaring jet engine to introduce each song with.
@zepromz They've reformed?!?!?!? I just found this on UA-cam, still have this on vinyl and have wondered what happened to them. What's the name of the album?
yes they did.
Does anyone know the original transmission date?
19th April 1985
On.
what is the first song called?
Dressed Incognito
They were /are THE SHIT!
great dated memories
sounds and looks more like some new wave adam and stuff..
sounds like Motorhead with an image.
Motorhead
No,Rogue male.
this album was soooo sleazy and trashy it was dangerous!
Cant they re-issue it?
Not reissue, as the label still owns the release. However...they can remaster it and release an updated version. Most contracts allow for remastering after 7 years.
Were these guys intending to be funny ? 😆
Awful. Could never understand how something so decidedly average garnered a record deal.
Found the Swiftie!
