Law finally on his own adventure without Luffy
Blackbeard:
I'm gonna end this man's whole career
I can see law vs blackbeard having a simultaneous reveal about the secret of devil fruits with vegapunk. I.e while vegapunk explains the secret of DF, Blackbeard puts it into action. (How he steals DF or why he can eat more than one)
Very neat exposition. I am seeing this one happening. We are getting the devil fruits secret, one of the fundamental themes of the entire Story.
That'd be cool asf
Kinda like the scene where Goku is explaining the Buff Super Saiyan form while Trunks is getting his ass kicked by using it
It's possible that Law, being the genius surgeon he is, is able to figure out exactly how BB's weird anatomy works and relays that info to the Strawhats later. We might also get some more info on the Rocky Port Incident.
Ohhh so kinda like jiraiya but instead of the frog delivering the message it’s bepo

This chapter just makes the eventual Katakury + Luffy combo inevitable, IMO, and I could not be more excited for it!
IMO since Kat said to luffy about coming back to beat big mom. I knew in my mind kat and whoever remains of the big mom pirates will join luffys fleet
That’s something I would love to see. A Luffy and Katakuri alliance for a rescue Pudding expedition. Let’s go Enies Lobby 2.0
Poor Cracker, though.
Imagine getting beaten to a bloody pulp, then having to recover all this time, only to get stomped all over again after you JUST got out of your hospital bed.
@@solidSnake4580 meh I doubt that. We’re too far into the story for a rescue mission like that. I’d reckon we’ll see this alliance in the final war or something along those lines
@@mangochampagnelasssi9028 We will have to see, with Pudding taken by the Blackbeard pirates, that gives Luffy even more motivation to go after him on top of the other reasons to go after him. Especially if Sanji asked him.
Edit: Also I don’t believe this will happen in the final war but maybe we’re getting a Blackbeard arc sooner than we originally thought theoretically speaking. I think we may get a Rescue Pudding arc with Blackbeard being the main villain of said arc and Luffy may rescue Pudding along with getting the final poneglyph from Blackbeard assuming if he does have it already then head to the final war with Imu as the main villain.
Again this is theoretically speaking because I do think this could possibly also be a set up for Pudding to become the final Straw Hat before laugh tale.
You do so many insane call backs that are constantly overlooked. Your content has to be some of the most detailed oriented along Tekkings. Good stuff!
I don't think Law will die but I wouldn't be so nervous if he wasn't his entire crew.
Facts! He is the only heavy hitter in his crew. Law can only do so much by himself in this situation.
i feel like law is a big piece of one piece so if he do die ima stop watching one piece
@@Dolotrxpinn I wouldn’t drop the series personally, but you raise a good point. He’s been with the straw hats for YEARS… multiple arcs. That would be intense if Oda killed him especially off screen 😳

I like your point about Oda not being as woke as the fans want him to be. I've brought up in the past that everything regarding Yamato desire to be Oden and the ambiguity around her gender is a big gag that people think is virtue signaling
Law might as well be a one-man ship with how much "help" his crew does
they are just an image lol law needs new members i wish he got some members from kaido
4:47 the detail about her tail is why I love watching your content, you really analyze everything in the chapter thoroughly
I personally felt like the line about the shoes being described as feeling like you’re floating on the air might’ve also been a reference to the Germa 66’s shoes which have floatation devices on them. Also this is random but I’m thinking Avalo Pizzaro has the mythical cat fruit model: Nemean Lion. He is known as the corrupt King and his PTS design has him wearing a crown, he has fur on on the collar of his robe which looks a little like the mane of a lion, and when he showed up in Marineford his speech pattern has a cat sound to it similar to Nekomamushi.
I love the fact that Oda is not focused on the EggHead island arc exclusively. This makes sense to me regardless of the previous format we're used to. Luffy, Law and Kid just completely turned the world balance upside down by taking down 2 Yonkos. There's no way we want to be stuck in any one arc with the ripple effects that this is sending across the one piece world. Being stuck in Wano made more sense because of how isolated it was meant to be from the outside world, but we're not in Wano anymore. This pacing makes sense considering the nature and impact of recent events.
One piece firing on all cylinders. Loving this quicker pace and can’t even imagine how epic this final saga will be
Kind of a random comment but I figure it's worth being said. I have watched your review videos religiously since naruto, and man I'm sitting here cleaning my house and it's like an enjoyable experience that I looked forward to. Like doing chores because I can listen to this review every week. Thanks dude. Thanks.
So based on what Law did in this chapter, Ivankov's devil fruit can be broken by superior haki.
I don't think so. Iva's power changes someone gender for good, this ability looks like it's temporary (like Bon Clay's technique)
Yeah muddies the waters a little. Like the whole ‘why didn’t ace use haki against akainu’
I think that the Blackbeard vs. Law fight will be happening off-screen, like other fights before, which is a pity...
For sure, seeing BB use all his tricks before Luffy even fights him doesn't seem like something oda would do, like in amazon lily we saw him inmediately defeat Boa no fight at all, no new moves against the mihawk seraphim either.
Sawyer: You are the slimiest, most vile pirate I've ever heard of.
Blackbeard: But you have heard of me.

@@cjbantilo1666 I think his devil fruit + his long shot aiming meaning he can be far far away makes him a formidable opponent no matter what. I think Kuzan is on a mission to provide the Navy with the road poneglyphs, thats how we can also include the navy in the race to one piece. I have a feeling that Luffy, Blackbeard and the Navy will find out where the poneglyphs point at the same time.
A sniper that can not only teleport things as far as he can see, but could teleport his own bullets? Possibly even while in flight? That is incredibly busted without knowing any of the drawbacks yet.
Is there a chance that Stronger is a human that just stays in the horse form all the time? Now that would be hilarious
He would've had wings in Mocktown if that was the case. Unless BlackBeard also let him eat 2 devil fruits somehow but that's unlikely, imagine all of the BB pirates having multiple devil fruits. Busted asf
Always waiting for your reviews going extra miles as always 😊
In the cover we see Pudding with two silhouette behind her (probablyAokiji and Lafeet) crying and saying something, probably like "I'll gowith you so don't hurt anybody else" and Cracker is reaching out to heryelling at her to not go before he gets frozen
In response to the statement you made at 22:14, I remember at some point in this series (maybe during the Big Mom arch [maybe the Katacuri fight]) some said that it was interesting that Luffy was able to make use of his armament haki while also using his rubber ability. The fact that he could still stretch while using haki was unique or odd. I think that it was when we first saw Gear 4: Snake Man.
To add to the haki discussion, which has been imploed since Dressrosa:
- Law was only able to swap Doffy and Sanji's places because he caught them by surprise
- Kaido basically confirmed haki is supreme
- Regarding Sugar, all the soldiers who were affected were injured and/or unconscious so they couldn't counter with their own haki
We can even apply this argument/logic to pre-timeskip since we learned from the story that haki HAS ALWAYS EXISTED:
- DFs like Foxy's affecting people because they got caught by surprise
- Momongo stabbed his hand sure, but he was using his WILLPOWER to stay unpetrified and we know that willpower = haki
More examples of pre-timeskip haki in hindsight:
- Luffy punching Mr 3's clone
- Zoro learning to cut steel
- Luffy and Zoro in Jaya with "them"
If the BB pirates don’t have strong Haki and just DF’s we already know what’s gonna happen from what Kaido said. Kaido pretty much told us that BB is acting like a “pre time-skip clown” if DF’s is all he’s got.

Thanks for your incredible reviews.
If Blackbeard actually gets Law's poneglyph rubbings, then One Pieces is about 3-5 years away from finishing.... Unless Oda does a final arc as long as the 4th Great Ninja war.
You know it's going to be long Oda said final Saga as well when we look at the Big Mam and Kaidou Saga
That included
Zhou
Whole Cake
And Wano arca together
So final war
Probably has four arcs in it
The only way Law can get out of here alive and his crew is to use his powers similar to Boa turning Blackbeard's crew into stone. We know Law can take people's hearts, so he might do something like that. No way Law is going defeat Blackbeard especially since since he's a cheat.
Van Auger’s power explains how Lafitte got into the room where Sengoku and the Warlord’s were meeting after Crocodile lost his position In chapter 234. It also explains how he got into the control room to open the Gates of Justice so that the Blackbeard crew could get through in the Marineford arc. On a side note, during the Warlord meeting you also notice that Mihawk is surprised by Lafitte’s sudden appearance, if he can surprise Mihawk that means he didn’t just simply walk in or fly in he was teleported in.
@@Israel-ng4ve its not Lafitte's power its Van Auger's and there is no confirmation on who had powers pre time skip and post time skip.
Nah law said they hunted those fruits they're definitely all new fruits.
Personally I think this chapter would have been a better way to reveal Bonney’s relationship with Kuma.
Thank you for another bomb ass review Sawyer
I believe immortality if you have a DF is more a weakness than a strength. Imagine being thrown to the sea, you'd just stay there eternally.
I don’t think you are fully understanding the DF and Haki relationship. Enough Haki can nullify DF abilities that’s abstract and applied on the Haki user directly, it acts as resistance, like BM nullifies Law’s teleport ability, but when something happens(or created) via DF, you can’t just nullify it with Haki, what would happen if Shanks blast a piece of ice Aokiji created via DF? The ice won’t vanish like its nullified, Shanks would have to construct something via Haki technique, to clash with that piece of ice, like how a piece of ice would be dealt with naturally. Like once a bird is created by nature, to get rid of it you’d have to kill it, not by turning it back to egg.
So Shanks blast brook with Haki, will be the same as Shanks blast anybody else around brook level, the fact brook lives now, isn’t related to his DF anymore, but the process of him getting an extra life was.
Jimbei in the hawaiin shirt this chapter low-key looks like Jumba from Lilo and Stitch.
Was waiting for u my guy
i love the dad vibes jinbei has been giving off this arc. after reading this chapter i want bonnie to join the crew. i feel she would make a great addition.
After 1000+ chapters I think it's pretty obvious that not every character the crew gets along with ends up joining them, uh?
agree! bonnie hands down has the perfect tragic past plus ultimate goal "revenge against the WG??" and her devil fruits is probably the funnest devil fruit ive seen.

little word play about the sick sick fruit ma-lady attack : sickness in french is Maladie, so the maladie ma-lady that turns men to ladies is a cool move from Oda.
Sanji when Luffy brings the food machine to the Sunny…”IT TOOK MY JEEEERRB!!!!!”
The Final Saga is already one of my favs. The last 10 chapters have been insanely good, like Marineford level good!!
Sawyer on the haki stuff
If Boa turns u completely to stone you can't break out with haki cause you would be unconscious and can't use ur brain.
If she just turns ur arm to stone by kicking it, you would be able to revert it back by using Haki, assuming ur haki was strong enough.
For sugar if she turns u to a toy, If ur Law for example you should be able to bust out using Haki.
On law soul switch, I don't think u can break it with haki
1:20 A lot of people are downplaying Cracker because of this fight and they're saying that Doffy >> Cracker without even analyzing the image. Cracker put up a fight, he didn't just got frozen to the core in a single ice attack.
Cracker is stronger than doffy. Way stronger. He was able to fight gear 4 luffy equally. Luffy won only because of Nami. But doffy had no fcking chance against gear 4
Another great vid!
Awsome review man keap going...!!
Recently binge read 900 to current after dropping the series back then, it's good to be back with the crew and watching Sawyer.
This is my theory = law is part of sword organization and the prove for that is how drake treated him in wano when he was captured by Hawking, I think some sword members will interfere and save law
I don't think that you can revert something with haki, but stop the application of something. If you're teleported away, you can't teleport back, but while being teleported you can stop the process. For boa, once you're stone you're screwed, but you can counter being turned to stone
Bepo: Thank God Shiryu isn't on their ship
Shiryu: *laughing in the Polar Tang*
another thing to add, Teach is also member of D clan and last time he fought another D clan member (ACE) we got a first and ever impactful death in the series. Law is another D clan member, get hyped fellas.
14:58 this made me imagine Ussop being so unstoppable that Van Auger needs to separate him from the Strawhats.
Very good review!
Zoro cutting Mr. 2 can be viewed from a complete different perspective with the comments made by Law in this chapter. Possible though, that's just another way to break through df powers.
Sawyer: What if Usopp unlocks conquers' haki
Me: Nah, Usopp is gonna get Cowards' haki that lets him over power his enemies with his own fear.
Finally someone mentioned that there is sexism in One Piece, and that it has to do with Japan's culture. Either you're ok with that or not. Thank you for bringing light into this matter.
Imagine Oda shock everyone and Law ends up beating Blackbeard and his crew
I dont think so, bb will be sh last pirate fight. After that it would be government fights.
Shock everyone and ruin a thousand chapters of buildup for the story's main conflict? Lol
that will the best thing oda ever did make law vs luffy the final in the show
I don't think haki can nullify any df effects, remember that haki only lets you hit the real body of your opponent but it doesn't mean they turn back to their real body e.g in Punk Hazard punching any random part of Smoker's smoke body does damage to Smoker but Smoker doesn't turn back to being a regular person so I don't think you'd be able to stop someone like Shiryuu from being invisible with your haki, that's more of a black clover ability using mana zone or something, haki can't do that otherwise BM and Kaido could've just destroyed Law's rooms and stopped Kidd from using magnetism by doing nothing but standing close to them.
Haki only nullifies df powers that directly F with the target such as moving them around, controlling them or changing their body composition but this haki ability needs to be used proactively it's not passive, that's why Law got infected and had to use his haki to nullify the sickness where as BM and Kaido who were in battle mode set their haki to such a high level it neggs some hax abilities.
When Kid challenged the Red Haired Pirates, he lost an arm. It's not looking good for Law who now has to take on a Yonko Crew by himself. Especially when his crew is pretty much dead weight.
Also, when the news of Pudding's capture reaches Katakuri, he'll probably go on the hunt for the Blackbeard Pirates, since the man's all about protecting his family.
This chapter laid out 2 scenarios towards the end, 1. Shanks rescues law, and escapes with his crew as shanks is fighting BB and shanks dies to BB b4 he reunites with luffy or 2.Law gets captured and theres a rocky port reunion with koby and sword development between koby law and kuzan and oda sets up for BB to fall before Shanks and the endgame will be BB>Shanks>Imu. The first scenario is unlikely but is an option if oda wants to save BB for the last Pirate opponent for luffy but it seems like oda is saving Shanks as luffys last pirate opponent assuming shanks is serious about getting the one piece
great review
Another instance of Haki breaking through devil fruits is Jimbe resisting big mom.
Thank you and take care Sawyer
It's either a new retcon, or Oda just revealed that Blackbeard is highly proficient in Haki with possibly possessing CoC. Law just proved that you can bypass a devil fruit power by using Haki, which means that it's possible to bypass the devil fruit negation ability of the Yami Yami no Mi by doing the same thing. Ace was capable of using all three types of Haki and still lost. Hmmmm.
You need *enough* Haki to nullify certain DF abilities like a disease fruit or law's teleportation. Oda already kind of established this with Kaido and Vergo.
we dont talk about ace and haki. that was one of odas biggest mistakes. he never showed it, only coc as a kid. if he made it more apparent like in the post time skip, it wouldve been better.
Ace did have all but I don’t think he was at the advance step yet because he was chasing after Bb.
This is basically Law vs a whole Yonko tier crew, alone. I hate how underpowered and nigh irrelevant Heart Pirates are.
Also, the Haki overriding DF effects also means Teach doesn't have a strong enough Haki to resist Hancock's DF and adds more clout to her, since he needed a sneak attack to take her down and admitted he can't resist her powers.
Well Blackbeard pirates whole point are people who found the most hax and op fruits imaginable but aren't big on haki that'll be the downfall of them against the strawhats
@@sparknazo good arc to give everyone Haki given that we know now it is the endgame focus.
Seriously good observation. But Luffy could resist Boa's powers even before he could use haki. Maybe it's oda's running gag that Luffy isn't overwhelmed by lust ect but Blackbeard and Sanji ect will always be weak to her power no matter how strong their haki is.
its not the same if you simp for her you turn to stone its nt about haki with her
@sawyer are you gonna review house of the dragon?
Hello Sawyer! Could you give your thoughts on Haki overcoming devil fruit power effects? I'm thinking of a particular case, do you remember when Kyros was converted into a toy by Sugar? I'm pretty sure Kyros has a strong will, shouldn't he been able to overcome and reverse the effect of the hobi hobi no Mi?
Kyros has not actually been shown using Haki, even then Sugar's DF is alot more broken than most other normal fruits
I don't think toys have the ability to use haki once they're in that form, and everyone Sugar has turned to a toy was caught off guard, so their haki wasn't active
@@YightLagami fair point, maybe Kyros doesn't know how to use it. Now I'm thinking of Don Chinjao 😆
Update. I see you've commented on this by the end of your video. Thanks Sawyer! :D
@@Caarce1 to be fair, it took Kaido and Big Mom levels of Haki to be immune to Law's room. It took a Yonko's level of Haki to be immune to Law's fruit even if only one aspect, not considering law's awakening
Idk why but the art looked super good in this chapter !!!
Awaken Powers and strong Haki had been shown to be able to bypass even top tier Haki defence, Gear 5th manage to turn Kaido to rubber, Law manage to pierce Big Mom and shock her from inside out, Kid is able to assign magnetic poles onto Big Mom, Haki also don't stop abilities acting outside their person, such as the time Kid repel Big Mom on to the air by attaching his metal arm on to her and Law threw a boulder in her face, as strong as her haki was it can't stop abilities from acting on objects outside her person. So no, haki doesn't make abilities obsolete, it just stop hax from one shotting everybody.
The reason that awakenings work on even top tier haki defense maybe because that they were concentrated piercing attacks, while haki can usually defend against abilities the burst of will power at the exact moment of an awakened attack (which imply to be awakened due to haki of the user) is greater than the constant output of the full body haki defense, just like the special beam cannon from DBZ.
As for it being a lame solution to a problem, I would point to people like Mihawk, do you think the greatest swordsman walk around the world carrying a huge bag of possible counters to abilities so that when he goes against people like Croc he just splash them with water first before slashing them? That would destroy the dignity of that fight in two ways, first of all a ability counter would weaken an fruit user, essentially Hawkeyes will be fighting/defeating a weaken opponent, second of all that would no longer be about swordsman ship, making Mihawk closer to Batman or a JoJo character than the greatest swordsman. With Haki being the solution though, would preserve the dignity of the fight, and still keep it interesting because instead of the Haki fighter having to outthink the ability user with his bag of tricks, the ability user would be the one having to outthink their opponent's pure brute force.
It is also very strange for you to think that Law's statement about Haki being the great equalizer was to prevent something like Kaido being unbeatable won't happen again when the reality is Kaido's ability while strong is far from hax and thus not actually require Haki to over come (imagine something more powerful and massive than Junisha with zero haki beating Kaido with pure physical strength). Ironically Kaido was beaten by Luffy's ability awakening instead of Haki, strong as Luffy's Haki was, he was still no match with Kaido's decade honed Haki power, without the Bajurang Gun he can't beat the Fire Drum Dragon. Laws statement was more about hax powers like Sugar, Bonnie , DocQ and even Shinobu than someone like Kaido.
It's ironic Law made that haki comment this chapter since his fruit was the first in the series to establish that haki could negate some DFs. Back in Punk Hazard Smoker explicitly warned Tashigi not to engage Law because her haki wasn't developed enough to withstand his fruit. Virgo made a similar comment, mistakingly thinking his haki was strong enough to block Law's amputation. If Law's fruit wasn't limited by haki, he'd be one-shotting every character with Radio Knife.
That being said, there are definitely exceptions to the haki-fruit rules. Just the other chapter BB confirmed Hancock's fruit was unstoppable -- meaning haki doesn't matter, if you find Boa attractive, you lose. I'd argue the same applies to Sugar since her fruit was such a threat (speaking of, if Sugar's fruit is THAT good, BB probably owes her a visit soon...)
Or Van Oger teleports Ussop and then Ussop uses his advanced observation Haki to still take him out from a very long distance
Great video
It seems that blackbeard saying Hancock would turn him to stone if he let go, is him admitting his haki wouldn't be enough to overpower her (or her ability specifically)
Very good point!!!! He is more focused in DF instead of haki. But haki is his weakness
This chapter proved that one of the scariest parts of the Blackbeard pirates seems to be team work and how they each have shown to be able to work well together is frightening, for a group with dark goals in mind.
Can we have a moment of silence for Euseless Captain Kid D. not even being on Blackbeard's radar when he mentioned who would arrive with the road poneglyph.

Law went from being a "D" to being a "double D" :p
Blackbeard catching law slipping was expected eventually 😂
haki could boost a devil fruits effect to some degree. maybe its better to say their will rather than the haki system. hancook is not only beautiful but believes she is the most beautiful, and most agree so her fruit power is amplified greatly. it may take more haki than most could create to break it.
The answer to all those questions at the end. Yes. And I love it
