@M soccer is also the weakest sport with no contact or you get a card for being a wittle bit wough, over dramatic plays, small scoring and boring to watch, and to be fair, all states love afl dumbass, the 4 states are just the ones with teams
541 points is the margin that Geelong has outscored the Eagles in the subsequent eight matches they have played against Geelong at K.P since that fateful loss in 2006.
two of the best comebacks i have ever seen, and im not a die hard eagles fan. 9 goals down in the 3rd against geelong and to win, legendary. the other win was impressive also! good job eagles!
Eagles will be back... a proud club with a winning culture. Kudos to Geelong for their reign and here's hoping for another Eagles Geelong GF classic... hopefully we'll win by a mile like we did back in the 90s haha
Ah, I remember the Geelong game - I had started watching the game, and after Geelong really got ahead it seemed like it was going to be just another day at Skilled Stadium, so I went in my room. A little later dad's calling out "Jaxson get out here, the Eagles are coming back!". Sure enough we'd started kicking goals in a row, and I was glued to my seat. When the siren went, we were all in shock, wondering "did that really just happen"? Great feeling. ^^
thats just gold a hard pill to swallow for cats and blues fans, but to the blues credit they almost topped us at subi... and for us to win like that against the cats at skilled was huge (but yes i know cats fans about the 135 pts dished out this year) still the premierships are testament!
More than 16 seasons later and this remains the Eagles last win at Kardinia Park. Reckon Geelong will have never forgotten this result and might keep powering on over West Coast whenever they play in Victoria for evermore!
No, the guy I originally replied to did. Facts are facts, and the fact here is that the padding makes the weight and force of the object higher. If you watch (especially running backs), they use the extra weight and forward motion to hit the defender and blow by them, thus makes it harder to stick tackles like in real footy, it means that the injuries can be more severe compared to footy in some cases whereas in others it is not. The players know that they can use the padding to their advantage
I remember that great game vs Geelong in 2006. One of the best games ever. Geelong were a very, very good side but West Coast in 2006 did the unthinkable. It only made Geelong angrier from 2007 onwards.
as a hawks supporter, i have to say these are absolutely brilliant comebacks, easily on par with the great essendon comebacks in the early 2000's, such as essendon-north melbourne. too bad they cant play this well now, they have lost all those brilliant players from 2010. however, there is talent there, and within 3 or 4 years, they will be back in the eight for sure.
failings like this one in 2006, made Geelong the great side they are today. They took a good hard look at themselves and worked harder to become the best...
@supersubaru555 im an eagles supports so i totally agree with everything u say about Woosha. He started coaching the Eagles when they were towards the bottom and within a few season took them to glory and since he's shown that ability he deserves a go with this young team. When it comes to Bomber one of the reason he lied and walk out of Geelong could be because people within might of blamed him for Ablett's departure in a way since we now know how bad their relationship was.
This was early 06 and was the last year I had membership with the cats. I gave them 2006 to get better and my patience ran out. Then look what they've done. I could never be a Tigers or Melbourne supporter!
Yea its so great only one country likes it, Australia is the only country with a professional league in Australian Football but we have just started to spread the game internationally & already there are amateur leagues all around the world.
God THAT day at Geelong was so, so, so great - it was one of the best days I've had supporting the Weagles. I've never seen a crowd eat their own at 40 points up like the Cats fans did that day! No wonder they lost!
I am a Geelong supporter, and we effectively wasted 2006 and 2008. We can beat Hawthorn in the next 40 Grand Finals, but 2008 is still lost. That was my point. Wasted seasons happen, yes, but regardless of what you do, you can never get that wasted season back.
If you're a West Coast fan you will see your team in a grand final every 4.6 years and win a grand final every 7.7, if you're a Fremantle fan you will see your team in a grand final every infinite years and win a grand final every infinite years
and cox, and glass, and stenglein, and etc.... Dude, apart from our largely sub-par foward line there were many more contributors than those you mentioned
if there's one thing i know about west coast, is that they r DEFINITELY capable of WINNING the PREMIERSHIP in 2015, hopefully they can SMACK HAWTHORN'S ARSES IN THE GRAND FINAL
@VictorYong36 I think he performed it at the 1991 Grand final between West Coast and Hawthorn. They drove some sort of bat-mobile thing onto Waverly Park, and it just went downhill from there.
@darijoe Believe me... as an Eagles supporter in 2007 who couldn't quite get there... I thought oh well we will be ok in 2008... we have young kids like Hurn and Waters and Butler coming through. Then you lose a gun player (Judd/Ablett) and others start retiring and you realise how brittle it is... and those young kids don't quite make up for the champions. When the end happens it happens very quickly and can take years to come back up. I saw the end for Geelong in the game against Freo.
Fair enough, I must have missed the point you were making originally, sorry for not looking all the way to the start of your conversation. I think I can understand what you are saying but maybe I just need to watch more american football to really get it
Karma will come with a vengeance again this Saturday....and two flags take any pain out of sucking anything. Just the sweet smell of success!! Something Freo can but dream about.
@MrOssumAnt That was an average, which was given most likely after their 2006 appearance (and win, mind you). That is, it was 'buffered' by recent success. Of course it's going to go down as time goes on - that's only logical. The fact still remains that West Coast has done remarkably well since its inception into the competition, winning far greater than the average (1 premiership in 16 years). This is now Freo's *17th* year in the competition.
wow in the first game geelong were winning by 30 points at three quarter time and the eagles won by 3 points and in the second game carlton were winning by 29 points at three quarter time and the eagles won by 10 points and im saying this when i'm a geelong fan.
West Coast FOREVER!!
Go eagles
@M soccer is also the weakest sport with no contact or you get a card for being a wittle bit wough, over dramatic plays, small scoring and boring to watch, and to be fair, all states love afl dumbass, the 4 states are just the ones with teams
This must be the 10th time I've watches this and certainly not the last.
one of the best videos on this site
i remember sitting at home watching those games. cant wait till west coast start doin that again!
:)
I remember watching this game at the time... it was just one of those days... I never gave up hope in the Eagles... but I never do >.
541 points is the margin that Geelong has outscored the Eagles in the subsequent eight matches they have played against Geelong at K.P since that fateful loss in 2006.
go eagles
were the best
two of the best comebacks i have ever seen, and im not a die hard eagles fan. 9 goals down in the 3rd against geelong and to win, legendary. the other win was impressive also! good job eagles!
I attended the game in Geelong as an Eagles supporter. The experience was one of pure elation! "We came. We saw. We conquered!"
I watched both these games live...the two best comebacks ive ever seen
This gave me goosebumps thinking back to then
that shit rocks. its good to be a supporter of one of the most successful teams in the afl.
the roar when embley kicks that last goal is what footy is all about.
the roar of the crowd in games like those is mind blowing EPIC. have to be there
Eagles will be back... a proud club with a winning culture. Kudos to Geelong for their reign and here's hoping for another Eagles Geelong GF classic... hopefully we'll win by a mile like we did back in the 90s haha

even as an essendon supporter i have to admit these are two amazing comebacks by a champion eagles team. i also under-rated adam hunter.
More than 16 seasons later and this remains the Eagles last win at Kardinia Park. Reckon Geelong will have never forgotten this result and might keep powering on over West Coast whenever they play in Victoria for evermore!
Maybe cause they don’t play there 💀
Inspiration at its best!

Dont ya jus miss those days.

woah im a north supporter my self but that is the best come back i have ever seen
hunterrrrrr bloody legend. thats real football.
carn the eaglessss
Great fkn team...on and off the field. Legends.
Both were very good comebacks.
i was at the geelong game. cant remember that much it was a few years ago apart from heartbreak.
Unfortunately Geelong ran into the greatest midfield of all time
@MANCHESTER UNITED then why comment in a afl community if soccer so great?
@M god nobody likes you

lions have had a couple of great comebacks this year
Great games,I remember watching both.I'm glad Hunter got the last goal in the Geelong game,he deserved it the most.
I'm a Fremantle supporter but gee, we're the eagles good back then
were* dummy, we're stands for we are, holy your English is terrible.

Shame the video quality was only 240 , otherwise good content.
loved seeing the geelong crowd
that was 2 amazing efforts! good on em
God THAT day at Geelong was so, so, so great - it was one of the best days I've had supporting the Weagles. I've never seen a crowd eat their own at 40 points up like the Cats fans did that day! No wonder they lost!
see dom cassis s last goal of the day over at skilled in 2007...feels good to beat geelong
that really is something special, well done eagles.
Go dees!!
I am a Geelong supporter, and we effectively wasted 2006 and 2008.

It's all OK now Oscar. 2015 paved the way for 2018. West Coast for life 💛💜
@VictorYong36 I think he performed it at the 1991 Grand final between West Coast and Hawthorn.
They drove some sort of bat-mobile thing onto Waverly Park, and it just went downhill from there.
great video mate keep it up:)
Yeah...and part of knowing that you outclassed your opponent is a little something called, 'humility'.
West Coast of 2005 & 2006 was a good side, Judd, Cousins, Kerr, Embley, Matera.
What about saints eagles that was a awesome come back thumbs up if you agree. Final Score... 84 eagles 80 saints
too bad to see Wirrapanda go he was my favorite player
@darijoe Believe me... as an Eagles supporter in 2007 who couldn't quite get there... I thought oh well we will be ok in 2008... we have young kids like Hurn and Waters and Butler coming through. go eagles we came back from 10 goals down go hunter
west coast 2006 for sure!
Freaky! West Coast just beat Carlton at home on Thursday night by 10 points as well!
i eagles fan but i really did feel sorry for those geelong fans
Fair enough, I must have missed the point you were making originally, sorry for not looking all the way to the start of your conversation. I think I can understand what you are saying but maybe I just need to watch more american football to really get it
Hunter, Chick and Embley. Talk about big game players. AFL Players aren't the same as they used to be.
Lions the real comeback kings. These two teams as well as Port by margins greater than 40? Comeback kings 🦁
yeah nobody cares lion supporter
hunter, kerr, cousins, judd - best players of their time
don't forget Judd, wirrpanda and glass
YEAH go eagles the best team eva!
Yes and thats why the Eagles will win this year.
Round ten 2006
what was the date of this game?
3:06 pretty much sums it up perfectly lol
hope West Coast can play like that for the whole game in the grand final, get to a big start and never allow hawthorn back in the contest
If only they did beat hawthorn, if only...
Better late than never 2018 🏆
@VictorYong36 all i know is that its rose tattoo? um unsure about the name? we cant be beaten maybe? if that helps :)
Karma will come with a vengeance again this Saturday....and two flags take any pain out of sucking anything. Just the sweet smell of success!! Something Freo can but dream about.
Yep! We'll be back, watch out freo! :3
4:44 is enough to rip your heart out !!
im gonna miss the voice of clinton grybas
@MrOssumAnt

heheheh those were the days.... id like to see the eagles try that against either of them now.... juddy wouldnt have it :(
whats the song called? and GO THE EAGLES WCE 2010 GRAND FINAL WINNERS!!
wow in the first game geelong were winning by 30 points at three quarter time and the eagles won by 3 points and in the second game carlton were winning by 29 points at three quarter time and the eagles won by 10 points and im saying this when i'm a geelong fan.
well, in actual fact, considering West Coast and Carlton's form line, an eagles bloodbath should have eventuated
and hes got it gerald!
They were a great team back then. Pity that some of the boys partied too hard....probably cost them at least another flag imo.
Ha I mean the last gap was 11 years, but given our form this year, I'll concede that.
i want em both lol but id want natinui probly he looks like he got freakish skills
Einfach unglaublich
yeah go u mighty eagles
