@@theworldisnotflat5159 Roman period is when Rome was united, byzantine is the Eastern Roman Empire with the capital in Constantinople which was a Greek country
The map for WW1 Greece actually shows the borders before the Balkan Wars, by the time WW1 started they looked completely different.
I wanted to mention too, by 1917, Greece already had Tessaloniki and the northern border

@@EthnikoPneuma It really just looks like that, there were no national identities and nationalism back then. The only rule was probably with the Ottoman dynasty and Islam over other religions (other religions were to be taxed and were in other ways second class under sharia, which is much better than the burnings of medieval Europe).
You can argue, that a portion of that 400 years is under "Turkish rule" and, that Greek christians were supressed, that would be more accurate.

As a Greek I can confirm that this is what we are taught in schools. I spotted though some inaccuracies. For example Athens was the most famous democracy in the ancient times, not the first one however. Also you forgot to mention the Peloponnese wars between Athens and Sparta, the Greco-Turkish war of 1897 and the Balkan wars. Great video though!
As a Turk, I can claim Greece has got an epic history. And yeah civilazation has made in Greece first, small city and naval states has make many improvements maybe that's one of the reason riconesance. there are many nations build up civvilization and science in same era but this concent is about Greece so I have to talk about greece.ıı

@@mustafaokuducu9353 no they didn't have plenty of time, because the problems began the moment Young Turks came into power, previously the Ottoman Empire was ok being multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-cultural, multi-language, as long as you paid the taxes and didn't annoy the Sultan and the local governors then most of the times you didn't have problems, nationalism was not part of the empire yet.
Young Turks wanted to create a mono-ethnic/language/religious/etc country out of a multi-ethic empire, then everything broke.
And the interesting thing is that the Greeks in the empire, at the beginning, supported the Young Turks because they thought that they will bring equal rights and the ideals of the French revolution to all the different groups of the empire, while the rule of the Sultan was harsh and non-democratic.

(1) Ο Αλέξανδρος ο Μέγας πέθανε το 323π.α.χ.χ.
(2) Το Μέγα Σχίσμα του Χριστιανισμού, επισήμως έγινε το 1.054μ.α.χ.χ. καί όχι το 1.053μ.α.χ.χ., όπως εσφαλμένως γράφεται.
(3) Τα έτη 641-1.081μ.α.χ.χ., το Ανατολικό Ρωμαϊκό Κράτος ή "Βυζάντιο", έχασε μέγα τμήμα της εκτάσεως καί της ισχύος του, καθώς απώλεσεν οριστικώς καί αμετακλήτως την Βόρειον Αφρικήν, την Παλαιστίνην, την Συρίαν, την Αρμενίαν, την βορειοδυτικήν χερσόνησον του Αίμου (=Σλοβενία, Κροατία, Βοσνία-Ερζεγοβίνη, Σερβία καί τμήμα του Μαυροβουνίου), την Αρμενία, την Μεσοποταμία καί το Κουρδιστάν.
