Chem lasers are an alternative to standard lasers, they use disposable charge packs, ammo basically, to power them and have reduced heat and thus weight. In vehicle build rules ICE, internal combustion engine, tanks have no heat sinks and you need to allocate enough heatsinks for every energy weapon installed. For example a medium laser weighs a ton and generates 3 heat meaning 3 tons of heatsinks are needed to install making it weigh 4 tons total. Large lasers are 5 plus 8. Fusion engines always give 10 which makes them crucial in energy tank builds and ballistic and missle weapons don't generate heat on a tank for combat purposes. In addition tanks can't use double heatsinks.
It’s more for Classic, but chem lasers use a chemical reaction to create the energy to fire the laser. It’s bulkier and less efficient than the usual clan lasers (being basically just inner sphere lasers but slightly worse, since the ammo can explode), but for vehicles it has a major advantage in that you don’t need to buy the heat sinks for them (vehicles normally have to have enough heat sinks to fire all normal energy weapons simultaneously).
The Warriors and the transparent support pegs are amazing! I'm excited for more helicopters. Hopefully, out of all the normal combat vehicles this one sells well! It would be nice to see some more non-mech boxes.
WAT is Watchdog, an advanced electronics warfare system, it's what gives that Skulker LPRB and ECM.. A Chemical laser uses chemicals to fuel the reaction that generates the laser beam. Modern lasers are chemical lasers. In BattleTech terms they use ammo and don't require heat sinks if you mount them on a vehicle.
Another nice pack. That Ontos is a beast. Behemoth is a pretty good turret 😂. Warrior and Skulker should be fun. I hope we see some more VTOLs in plastic.
@@Thearmedpainter that's unfortunate, but with the time investment into them, def not something I'd be redoing to fix, either. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers man.
_Get to da choppa!! _*_Now!_* - Sergeant Arno Schwardenlegger, 22nd Rifle Mountain Militia Company, LCAF. I would have liked a second box in my KS, but I wanted as wide a variety as possible with my pledge level. So MWDA chopper proxies and photocopied record sheets alongside these minis. AFAIK, the battlefield support asset rules are only available in the Mercenaries box set, but are easy to use being sort of a hybridization of Alpha Strike & Classic BT, and very simplified in damage (weapon damage consolidated into a single number of damage inflicted & number of groupings of that damage, record keeping (record all damage incurred to asset, and then roll on 2d6 (+1 per 10pts damage added to roll) against asset's check number to determine if the asset is destroyed. If not, the assets check number is reduced by one & new check number written in the space provided on the asset's card), & initiative (all assets move first before mechs, so no real sinking). The battlefield support rules will probably be included in a future printing of Total Warfare.
I’m worried about this kit. My son is going to wreck the copter blades. Give him 5 more year and we might be able to play a simplified version of alpha strike for kids.
get the minis out from under your hand when you try to show us the individual figures so your camera actually shows us the figure your holding. very irritating that the focus is on the tray
As I’ve said before, I’m a one man show doing this on my own with no help and these aren’t perfect. I have plenty of other videos where this doesn’t occur 🤷♂️
At this stage being a non American any BattleTech reviews are enraging ........ if it comes out retail in the US BEFORE foreign kickstarters are honoured which I expect to happen BattleTech is dead outside the US
The Ontos and the Behemoth were some of my favorite tanks I have painted from the Kickstarter.

they did well with the vehicles.
Finally got my shipping info today. Box is coming Monday. Can't wait
Great opening edit.

so excited for this pack to hit retail in a couple months. The plastic VTOLs look super cute and I wanna run a whole lance of them.
Just got my package, thanks for the “Hype” message! 😂 The minis look amazing!
@@yungchris6044 lol! If I see the getAMPed code I always try to leave a note or a doodle :)

v-tols do look like they would be fun to run!
Looks super dope
I got this set with my Kickstarter . I think I will need 2 more

I really appreciate the outtakes! I would've dropped the thing and broken all my units for sure. Can't wait to get my tanks and choppers!
I can’t wait for the retail release so I can snag these for my custom mercenary force
Great Box, just wish they had harder hitting variants on the back of cards.
nother nice video, though seemed like your camera was not wanting to focus on the minis more than usual.
A few of my videos turned out bad with the auto focus this time :/

I understand and I’m on board with the community being critical of CGL on the KS shipping and fulfillment issues.
