I think all this "cafè racer" thing is just fashion, modding one's bike has been done since the beginning of time, and people where street racing in Italy (either legally and not) since the early 900...just my opinion of course
Dion and the Belmonts were GREAT ! I watched "bobby sox" girls with pleated skirts and saddle shoes dancing to the jukebox when I was kid in LA California .
