Nice set up. For 48 hours I would add: 1. Water filter. 2. Thin rain poncho 3. Cheap set of sun glasses

One thing on comms. All radios, cell, even satellite phones can be down, turned off, scrambled and Cray computers are always listening. If yours works, always speak in code that you and yours can understand. And dont talk long as your location can be triangulated.

Ahhh, no. 1) It is illegal to speak in codes. 2) Line of sight only radio, only good for 1 -15 miles depending on terrain; 3) We know the government doesn't listen to ham bands based on testimony during House of Representatives investigation of FBI involvement in Russia hoax; 3) Government doesn't have the resources to listen, and voice analysis radio communication on the scale you fantasize about. Phone yes, as infrastructure allows easy gathering of communication; 4) This isn't the 1980s Cray computers are ancient.

Nice vid. Great load out instead of a 30 pound pack. I noticed this because I have a bad back. I’m thinking I may have to pack folding e bike, my concern is someone trying to take it from me. For me I would add a garbage bag, a collapsible water bag with a sawyer micro, a silcock key and a second source of fire of your choice, everyone knows what they are, I like the Prepared4x ferro rods because they make both a large and small size with a 36” tinder torch attached. Along with your spare reading glasses a spare set of sunglasses and some cash. These shouldn’t take up too much space. If you had room, maybe an entree from an mre and some hard candies like grandma always Carried in her purse. I know the possibilities are endless, anymore and you’re back with a full backpack. Thanks again for the vid, I just subd. The 893. If this was too much to add the comment made before this one, below mine had good advice.

Awesome video, just one thing: take the tourniquet out of the bag. If you need to use it on yourself, you don’t want to be fumbling with packaging/trying to open it with one hand and a mouth

Thanks for sharing your iteration of a get home bag. It does seem like you've hamstringed yourself on water though... Especially for 48 hours...we all have opinions and mine would be with your set up to carry something like a Condor or similar water molle cozie with shoulder strap, so you'd at least have a Nalgene quart water bottle... and at minimum water purification tablets or a mini sawyer... But just my opinion of course...
Thanks for sharing n' God bless brother

Consider adding a four way will dock key. In an urban environment they would be indispensable to procure more water from outside commercial and industrial buildings. For five to ten dollars you basically have a key to the city.

smart, I roll with a chest rig aswell for that rapid deployment at a moments notice. People think it looks ridiculous but thats the difference between the assets and liabilities.

      Facts

    • @earlgrayman982
      @earlgrayman982 11 місяців тому

I don't understand the love for chest rigs. In high intensity situations or if you have to run far it keeps a lot of heat in chest/core area which makes it harder to cool off. Fine for Fall/winter but a nightmare in the summer or hot climates. It's also a bit of an obstruction if you have to get low or squeeze into a space.
Personally, I prefer a sling bag because they can be repositioned for chest or back carry. Most of the military style have a clip for quick detachment and you can get to items you need with just about the same speed. I'm never gonna need a power bar or a map where I can't spend a few seconds flipping a sling pack around. Even the ubiquitous fanny pack is better than a chest rig. Its dorky but easy to carry, on your hips where weight is easily distributed and certainly non threatening which can be a positive in most situations.

Considering you live in a dry climate, I would consider a small water filter. Living In Wyoming, the one package of water may not sustain me for 48 hrs. but you would need a canteen. Otherwise, I like what you carried.

  • @TheSolodevildog

I’d love to see 48 hours (late spring or summer) testing of this kit. Go hike how many ever miles with this and camp out for two days. Nothing like a good test

  • @south-eastgeorgiafreedomfo1505

Well thought out system. I carry more water than you do. I like to have the capability to have one gallon of water. In summer under high exertion, I need one to 1.5 gallons of water a day. I have found that water can found in my area, S-E Georgia, readily. However, if I want to move quickly and without concern for immediate water resupply, I need a minimum of three quarts of water storage, a gallon gives me a margin of safety. In S-E Georgia, S-E South Carolina or N-E Florida? Looking for a group? Checkout South-East Georgia Freedom Forum.

Good video. I ordered the pack it’s better than my Danny pack as I like to cycle.
what is have that is different
Those caffeine gummies things go bad. I added a small energy boost liquid
I carry a flashlight with a ball cap clip so can work on the truck or walk at night if I have to do so. A 10:18 leatherman wave on my belt and the watch pocket of my jeans has eye drops for dust or whatever
I have spare glasses instead of just readers that are impact proof
    A big handkerchief

All the tacticool stuff will just get you identified as someone who most likely has gear worth stealing. Civilian gear doesn't look cool, but it will help you look more average. Try out brands like nike, under armor, and puma for your clothes, hats/accesories, and backpack. I love tactical stuff; however, my get home situation would require me to walk through rough urban areas to get home.

I would use a blue chemlight and yellow highlighter with your map. Mark out your path home beforehand, the other colors won’t show the highlighted route but the blue one will. If they are good enough for Rambo , they are good enough for me :)

Great video brother, but I hate to say it. You wouldn’t survive 1/2 day with what you have. Most of those things, you don’t need. May I suggest a camel bag, with 2-3 liters of water and the basics. Knife, headlamp, gun, ammo and the emergency blanket. 2-3 extra mags for the shield.

the pouch itself is nice and the items are usable, but for 48 hrs you will have a problem without more water or at least an option to transport more water. just a normal sunny day and you have to walk a few mile will bring you on the edge of dehydration. that´s a point you have to rethink

      @@idahoprepper actually yes.
My recommended holsters include PHLster, Dark Star Gear, JM Custom Kydex, and Tennicor. All are solid gear, built by people who are actual practitioners. Too many holster companies are run by people who don't actually train, or even carry.
If you do nothing else, at least get rid of the garbage plastic clip and install a DCC Monoblock clip to replace it.
