De recordlevel op de Dcc is ervoor om het analoge signaal van bijvoorbeeld een tuner bij te regelen. Als het uitgangssignaal van een zender te laag is, dan kun je dat omhoog regelen met de recordlevel. Waarschijnlijk werkt de recordlevel niet op de digitale ingangen. Maar dat weet ik niet zeker. De opvolger, de Minidiscspeler had ook een recordlevel regelaar om digitaal en analoog te regelen. En de DAT-recorder van Sony ook. De DAT recorders werkte volgens hetzelfde principe als een videorecorder met een draaiende koppentrommel,, maar dan werd er digitaal een audiosignaal op de tape geschreven.klonk wel goed, maar had ook vaak problemen.En een behoorlijke snelle slijtage van de koppentrommel, wat heel duur was om te laten vervangen. Ik denk dat er een V- staartje versleten/uitgedroogd is en dat dat het piepgeluid veroorzaakt, omdat de snaar begint te slippen over de wieltjes. Of het is misschien een slipkoppeling die piept. Het is sowieso nog een wonder dat hij het nog doet na 28 jaar.😊
De minidisc was nooit een opvolger, ze kwamen bijna gelijktijdig op de markt. Maar Philips was gewoon te laat met het op de markt brengen van het DCC platform. De geluidskwaliteit was en is formidabel. Digitaal kon je niet regelen met met de recordlevel potmeter.
The first generation of DCC decks was built by Marantz (part of Philips back then) according to specs set up by Philips. That means that the Philips DCC 900, the Technics/Panasonic RS-DC10 and the Marantz DD82 and 92 were all built by Marantz and all largely identical. Sure, there are some differences (like the non Philips machines not having te stylized "L/R" icons to the left of the VU meters in the display and lack the ESI bus, the Marantz being equipped with an SAA7350+TDA1547 instead of just an SAA7350 like the Philips), but the basics are identical. I don't now if anyone has tried sticking the Marantz DAC board into a Philips DCC 900, but I wouldn't be surprised if that simply worked... The 1.5th generation of DCC decks (Philips DCC300/DCC600) are different on the inside and were built by Philips themselves. They have no Marantz counterparts. I believe they do have the same FTD display as the DD82 and 92 though; so possibly a source of cheap parts if needed :)

You are mistaking. The sound is not digital, cause it's on tape, and tapes are analogue. Saying that tape is digital is the same thing with saying vinyl is digital too :)) Digital in this case means, that it has some kind of processing inside the device.
MB B Actually, you do record a digital signal onto the DDC tape. You can record directly from the coaxial or optical output from a CD player. So yes, it is digital. Sound is of course never digital.
MB B The tape is analog (if that’s what you mean) but the musical information is stored in digital form on the cassette tape. The digital signal is then send through a DA converter when you want to listen to it. Is that what you meant?

Dcc gives better sound than a cd player ! Check drdcc channel. I give you 75 euro for the dcc ! Het piepen is het aandruk sponsje van de tape. Dat is vuil.. Ik gebruik ook vhs en betamax voor digitale of analoge opnames. (Veel beter dan bandrecorder)
sound quality dcc is more better than md, md is more funktion to skip i got all digital recorders but DAT first generation was in sound better then dcc and then md and cdr you must listen with your ears and see it with special meters that is why i say dcc sounds better

you should look for DRDCC and his DCC Museum. you will learn a lot on the subject. I myself own a DCC730, DCC900, DCC170. All 3 working perfect.
