    Instructions were easy to follow, but I found that the elastic was a bit too long. I did not want my scrunchie that loose. I trimmed off about 1.5 inches of the elastic.

    • @geniveposh4003
      @geniveposh4003 4 роки тому +18

      @@kiri5998 when making these, it is up to you ready. Need to make and test to see which is best for your hair, some people have alot of thick hair so they need a longer piece. Then some people have thin hair and sont need as much.
      Usually they say anywhere from 8 to 10 inches of elastic is what is used.
      Hope that helps

    Mine turned out great...with a little help from my sewing teacher! Thanks for this video, love the scrunchie! Quick question; is their different ways to make a scrunchie? Like if I would watch a different video would it tell me the same thing? Or would it be different?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Cherith, so glad it all worked out! There are a few ways to do it. The main difference is how the join is done. Some other methods use hand stitching to close the ends. Using a machine like I've done it is the quickest way. Most of my videos use the easiest or quickest way for beginners. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Thanks so much for your honest feedback. If you get stuck on any of the steps let me know and perhaps I can help. It is just straight sewing but the turning the tube can be a little daunting if you are doing it for the first time. Everything gets easier with practice - especially sewing. I find using a chopstick to poke fabric through really helps and speeds up the process. Otherwise I think this is about as basic of a project that you can get 2 stitches? Perfect to teach a beginners class. The part of learning your machine and testing how it works I don't include in project time. That will come with practice. If you are familiar with your machine I can see how this is a five minute project. Otherwise it is a great place to start ☺

    Wait this is so many easier than the WikiHow methods. I was sceptical at first but wow ok this can take 15 minutes off my scrunchy making time. I was painstakingly trying to match the final seams up on the short sides, seams folded inwards, and using a ladder stitch. Much better the slide one end into the other! Gonna need longer fabric though!
