Interesting short. But why tease that these are the LOST HOMES? They were never lost, or buried in sand, just moved and for many just forgotten. I’ve been there and it’s amazing they are still standing, although a couple are in need of a helping hand!
That was a great piece of information brother I live in Merrillville but the wife was forced into early retirement now we're looking to buy like an acre of land in Indiana where they allow RVs year-round you know
I spent the bicentennial - big thing at the time - at a party at one of the houses right on the shoreline directly to the west of where the park boundary was at the time...beautiful day...huge fireworks show from Chicago visible from a unique perspective, lotsa chicks in bikinis...slept (kinda) on the beach...good times, fer sure...
I've loved these homes since my dad first took us as kids to the IN Dunes. Thank you for the extra info, I had no idea they did tours in them! I'll have to catch next year 😢
