Imagine if they combined the damage models and breaking of these crashes within a beamNG drive style deformation physics, some of these planes hit the ground way too hard to not have any warping or deformation of the fuselage. Not only would you get the crash, you would get the smoosh of the impact too

@@obiwankenobi- not really. In beamng you kinda fold around things. You don’t actually break apart. A plane doesn’t bend to the point it is in half. It would break up
@@digitaal_boog it depends what it is made of, metal is more likely to bend around something than to shatter
@@obiwankenobi- no. Not in the way shown in beamng. Metal aircraft are made of many parts, they will break up in a hard crash or when hitting something.
I like how the gunner from the Stuka wasn’t getting out he just okay. “Meh, this is fine I’ll survive” lol
I like the delayed sound based on the observer's position. Adds another layer of realism.
The mosquito clip at 2:18 is possibly one of the times that a flight sim has made me tense.
Plane frame metal skins should crumple more when they hit the ground. Great video compilation. IL2 devs do an amazing amazing combat flight sim - no doubt about it.
how does this underrated game manage to be more realistic than war thunder, who's main point is that they are super realistic

I like the way planes crash in IL2 WW2 way more than the way they do in FC WW1. Don't know what they could do to fix it but that "bouncing like a Super Ball" stuff in FC is crazy.
This game is better than War Thunder for me. Because at least when you hit the ground at 1 mph the airplane doesnt explode

In real crashes I have seen in documentaries, the planes that hit the ground at any angle except a slow, controlled belly landing disintegrates. Plus most planes still contain fuel and a hot engine or two. Even belly landings can be total destruction depending on the ground conditions. If a pilot can get out in a parachute instead of hitting the ground in the airplane he will.
I also find it satisfying to watch planes get shot down in war thunder

Wings are what distinguish your plane from a kamikaze missile so... theres not.

there is this story of an Israeli F-15 that landed without one wing, then again the F-15 generates a lot of lift with its body

Gaijin needs to get permission to implement the code for damage models and then do it... because I've watched your vids for about 6 months now or more and it's just soon satisfying when a wing looks like it's about to fall off and is bent, man... war thunder would be SOOO MUCH BETTER
This is what makes il2 more unique. It isn't a copy of another game model, it is it's own thing.

20yr private pilot and Cirrus SR22 owner, 1st off I do not play these video games and just stumbled on as thought this was a video about real planes. But man the damage model in this game is so unrealistic, seen actual planes hit each other while taxing, fatal and none fatal crashes and they sustained way more damage than these supposed full blown shoot down crashes. Most of these planes would crash into a thousand pieces . But these planes are near indestructible. A B26 stalls a few hundred feet above the ground and it just loses a wing , from each one, looks like the fuselage is indetructable? No offense just saying. The visuals of the actual planes look great though.
