Everything you saw was from the first island, up until the first boss fight. Also, all of the boss themes in this game go hard. And you did hear that right, every single boss gets its own unique theme song.
The true Final Boss (in the DLC) slaps so damn hard. Both in music and players’ sh*t.

The modded parts were that the Sonic Team logo had the police car crash meme, text is in uwu, title card says Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Sonic was turned into Luigi, Amy was turned into Alpharad, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood sound when beating a level, Sage into Babu, Kocos into crewmates, full ring boost animation into Better Call Saul, Vine booms on Squid and Giganto dancing Gangnam Style. Everything else is from the original.
I mean I don’t know what they were supposed to be without mods

So the robots are basically a fossil left behind by a race called the Ancients but were reawakened by Eggman who immediately got sucked into an alternate reality that the Ancients created and is trapped throughout most of the game
The Giganto boss fight is a Titan. Which is less of a robot and more of a mech suit made solely for battle. But the person controlling the mech got corrupted a long time ago during a war. Which now that I think about it I guess Sonic is fighting a corpse controlling a mech so that's fun
If you can't tell Sonic has a lot of lore and that lore is REALLY used in this game. There's even a Babylon Garden reference it's great. I love this game

Sonic Frontiers a segmented open world platformer like Mario Odyssey, but it has heavy influences from action games like Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Rising, and Zelda BOTW

I would say you should really play Sonic Frontiers, and I do think that, it is a very good game, but it makes a lot of call backs to order games that will just fly over your head because you've never touched anything Sonic apparently, not even the classics...
Though I suppose it's as good a starting point as any if you want to play a good game at least, either that or Sonic colors or generations, considering they're fairly short games, but both of those games are over a decade-old and the recent remaster of Sonic colors, many consider it to not be the best experience to play the game. Though to be fair the original Sonic colors was on the Wii, so I guess if you wanted better controls.
I have to assume that whoever did the Uwu Speech mod just found the text files and used find/replace on all R's and L's into W. Otherwise I feel like their sanity would have imploded for a simple mod.
There are good reviews of Sonic Frontiers if you want to learn more about the game if you do not plan on playing it, AntDude and SomeCallMeJohnny are both great UA-camr's and reviewers.
Also where he showed a lot of people playing the game in one room, they brought a lot of youtubers and such to play the game early, in Hawaii Alpharad and SomeCallMeJohnny went
