Good video! I stumbled on this video as it came up in my feed, I had been searching whether or not Arrma cars and trucks were race worthy and your right, some of the videos were not helpful. Background, I raced as a teen back in the 80’s and was sponsored by Losi when they came out, my car of choice was the RC10 and I raced stock class, did quite well. Left the hobby got rid of my stuff, still kick myself for that, and now I’m getting back in. Fell into Arrma, it’s a tough SOB for sure but just didn’t know if it was race qualified? This video helped. Thank you. When I was racing, there was this older guy at the time I raced against in stock and he ran a Taniya Fox, not a race worthy car by any means, but he kicked everyone’s butt and was the guy to beat, everyone else ran TA or Kyosho at the time. 😂
I tossed the surpass brushless in after about 5 minutes of using the stock set up. About as fast as it can be and still be somewhat controllable, lovin' it!
I just got that brushless system and it is scary fast. it goes faster than the stock electron just barely touching the throttle. I would absolutely suggest buying for anyone else.
Just got the Losi Mini b for my son for Xmas. No matter what I do it won’t go into reverse. Horizon sent me a replacement Transmitter and ESC. Still the same issue. Now we’re going to upgrade it to the surpass as shown here and add the Flysky digital 3CH 2.4GHZ Transmitter and receiver to it. I hope to have the same results you show here. Great video !
I had the same issue turns out when you increase throttle trim it increases it in the forward direction so it doesn't always initiate reverse when you double or triple tap the trigger. Went back to neutral throttle trim and reverse was there everytime.
Nice vid Matt, were you aware that the stock model can go a few mph faster? There is a hidden throttle and steering rate adjustment. Hold a tiny bit of throttle and up the trim to max as the wheels turn and you'll go about 5mph quicker on the standard set up. Same with the steering for a faster turn
Hey brotha give the brood racing 4500kv noisy cricket motor and a quick run 16bl30 esc out on a tattu 3s 650 mah these things take flight im using a 20 dollar proboat reciver in it binds to the factory remote
Hey man any way you can give me more info on that cheap receiver I’m looking for one to bind with the my jrx2 transmitter or grom transmitter I want to update my jrx to brushless but on a budget
I've been looking at these for a month or so wondering if it's better to get this one and upgrade to brushless (was looking at the 69.99 brushless ESC/motor combo from dynamite) or the 2.0 that's brushless out of the box. Hrm......
Originally I was running it with a Flysky gt5. Now I’m running it with a flysky noble. It’s been a lot of fun. This system has enough power to be fun on a 1/10 track!
@@2fmrc thanks. Also how is the soft start and throttle modulation through corners? Had issues with both of those being very inconsistent with other cheap ESCs...
I'm getting one of these, but the roller version the just released. What I want to do is build it to do 50 mph like my mini Erevo did stock. Any motor the you would recommend that fits this buggy to make this 50 mph goal possible? Great video by the way.
Momba micro pro would fly! Or vxl3m system. Either one u will have to modify the motor mount and maybe cut some of the plastic rail but it would fly! I got mine on 3s and itll do standing backflips lol
A tad. It reminds me of the turnigy trackstar escs with turbo. You sort of hit full throttle and then get a little boost if you hold it full throttle for long enough. I’d say it can be adjusted. It comes with instructions to program it but I kinda like that feature myself. Especially on a 2wd truck. Pretty easy to loop out as is. I used to destroy people with those little trackstar escs in my 1/10 trucks lol
This is the exact system I have to put in mine, I’ve just been too lazy to solder it up. I now have the motivation I need to install it! Where did you get the little ramp from? The boy has been asking for something similar.
My mom actually found that at a yard sale for like $5! I told her if she finds any more of them to grab them lol. Great little Rc ramp for the smaller trucks.
@@2fmrc I actually got it installed today and its ridiculously fast, but, I'm having an issue where one wheel wont spin at low throttle and there is a clicking sound, I'm thinking maybe the slipper clutch, but I'm not sure. Gonna have to reach out to the Mini B group on Facebook.
Yeah unfortunately because the stock esc and receiver are built into 1 unit. So replacing the esc takes away the stock receiver. I love the flysky gt5 if you don’t have one already it’s a great option that can do most anything. Imo it’s the best transmitter under $2-300 honestly and it’s usually around $69 on Amazon now! Definitely check it out sometime! I use it in everything from my scx24s to xmaxxs to my mini b. It’s my favorite transmitter I’ve owned and I’ve had a few lol amzn.to/3ureivR

Good to know I just got a Surpass for my Arma Senton 3S as stock motor went bye bye. Thanks for review.

That thing ripped after the install. Nice work, thanks for the video
I used the cheep Chinese version of that motor and a 30 amp hobbywing esc and on 3s she flies!

Same setup I run on my mini b!! Thing rips for cheap! 🤟🏼
Yes it does!
@@2fmrc I was really surprised when I first got mine all hooked up. I turned my mini b into a mini late model dirt track car.
@2FM RC can i use my stock radio for this build? I'm just getting into the hobby and don't have a nice radio yet.
i have that set up in my latrax teton...it freaking flys!!
It is a great video with good information.
I saw it really well.
We look forward to good videos in the future.
👏😄😎👍👊💪
Thank you! Really appreciate that
I did the sane thing with my wire keeper, turns out the screws that hold them are under the black rail which is a huge pain if u ask me lol
me too!

How did you connect the esc to the transmitter?
Lol I think I'll put this in the scx24. I like the way you think. And same with you im getting bored with them as well
Awesome video 🤩👍
Did you use the stock controller for the Losi mini B, if so did you had any issues linking it?

Yeah I still wanna try that dynamite system eventually. I like the idea of the all in one system!
Have you any temperatur issius with the 650mah Lipo and this brushless combo?
In Germany we can't buy the 800mah version with 50C discharge rate.
Thanks for the info, what did you use for a receiver?

Thoughts on the 5800kv version? Not looking for crazy speed just a bit of a boost. Thanks!
Probably the best option honestly
@@2fmrc thanks. Also how is the soft start and throttle modulation through corners? Had issues with both of those being very inconsistent with other cheap ESCs...
@@blbills mine has been really good actually. We mostly run in the driveway on chalk tracks but it’s been pretty smooth.

I just got the roller. I would not try for 50! Get the truggy. You'd be way better suited for speed with that platform.
@@mikehansen9898 someone actually did a video where they make the buggy go 75 mph no problem with the regular mini b.

Than you need the 7200KV version from this motor and the 800mah Lipo with higher C rate.
Great 👍😍👍~~~!!!!!!
Does that esc have an delay when you go full Throttle

the output for the tarjet where do you conect?
does it also require another battery when run on brushless? im a newbie srry :)

If you’re part of the Facebook group, losi mini-b owners, I just put up a video to see what the group consensus might think the problem is.
Think I'm gonna get one! Sometimes I need a diversion from the scx24's. Can you send me a link to a main? Nice vid by the way👍
