I’m not much of a gold girl… silver is my choice… but I absolutely love owls, and this one is gorgeous!!
A great, usable, gift idea!!
You could just wrap a piece of masking (or packing) tape around those wooden braces… that would hold them in place… and be a little less permanent than the screws.

You need a ratchet strap. It's a staples, about 1.5" wide with a ratcheting closure. They are used in woodworking to clamp drawers and boxes for gluing. But, no screws, no drill, no split wood. You just put it on a like a big rubber band and tighten the fit with the ratchet. You can get one at Harbour Frieght, Lowes, Some Depot etc.

I'm only at the part where you're screwing the frame.... but I wanted to tell you, temu has this mold that looks like a comb but you make 4 of them & they have all these notches to connect together in a square, & you can use them to prevent the bulge on any size of box
