Just a reminder as someone who picked Asgarnia last year. Going dry in GWD is a very real possibility, so make sure to branch out to other stuff to not burn out.

@@Coltdogg Ya. I think the trick is if you go dry somewhere you just come back when you're stronger. Sometimes they hold a key drop though and it can be a pain in the butt. I think the longest I saw anyone go dry for something was like 1k KC. Even in leagues that is still a lot. I think it's a bit of that temporary game mode mentality. You don't reeeally want to be farming the same boss for a day cause it feels like such a drag.

Glad you're liking them! I think leagues is a great way to ease into ironman. Normal game ironman is fun, but also very grindy at times and leagues helps cut down on that considerably. (Plus it's just fun getting to be OP and blow through bosses and such lol)
One other thing to mention is that the Max Cape is locked to Asgarnia. Maybe not a high priority for most people, but could be a potential draw to picking the region. For example, you get the HP cape regen without taking Desert, or mage book swapping without Kandarin
Upgraded Mole slippers acting as bis hybrid would actually make a whole lot of sense since u technically have to have asgarnia if you literally want the bis boots for all combat styles anyways (because of Cerb crystals). Like they could probably make it to where u need all 3 cerb crystals and mole slippers plus whatever mole would drop to create the bis boots and make it like +6 better than what the cerb boots already offer. Would be absolutely sick especially if you add in the idea that all echo bosses may NOT drop weapons but just better gear for some of them.
Went DKA last time. Did godwars fairly late after getting last recall fully upgraded and desert amy 4. Was pretty chill and enjoyable at that point. Skipped Nex and still got dragon cup.
Ya. Nex wasn't required, though the crossbows last year were crazy good so if you had the time it was a very nice upgrade to a range build. I ended up doing Nex towards the end to just round out some tasks.
I'll put a bet on it the mole's Echo Drop being a pair of Claws that are a DPS option rather than a Spec option, and when it attacks it hits across 3 hitsplats (like how Torag's Hammers hit across 2)
Basically, asgarnia is a huge gear region for ranged and melee, and compliments whatever raid region you choose greatly. It covers everything you want in a pvm region, so it leaves your 3rd completely open for whatever utility region you want, or even an "accessory" region. Personally I'm 99% sold on Varlamore, Asg, Mory, unless the combat relic system allows for tribrid, and then I would probably still keep Asg and Varlamore, and just take Desert for the easy raid and Masori (f)

A/D are really good range combo. I do agree Varlamore is a fun pick plus you get the quiver. I think you can also do Fremmy if you like that content (gets you the ring and ava's + ven bow). You can also just have the last region be for fun really. You'll get so much power out of A/D alone if you wanted to do something specific (like trying the Wildy for example).
Camdozaal also has that easy prayer xp after fishing & preparing the fish. Crap xp rate, but with the boosted rates it’s tolerable to knock out the protection prayers at least. I used the Void sets in leagues 4. Easy to obtain and I knocked out 99 in all the combat stats in an evening. Easy to knock out 50 mill in all of them in another day or two. Not a must have region, but it ticks off a lot of generic boxes. No complaints after having it last year. Will say this though: getting the Imcando hammer task done last year took longer than I’d have liked, and it’s not remotely a critical item in leagues. If it isn’t worth more points this year, I wouldn’t bother.
I don't know if I can do another 500 kills of general garage door just to get full bandos. But I do like the area overall. Pest control was so chill and the easiest way for me to get 99 pray ect

CoX is going to give you a really strong mage setup already. If you want to lean into that more then you could do Z/K + another choice to round out combat styles like A or M or V. Depends how much grinding on high level pvm you want to do for rounding out gear. You will end up using all styles in there so you don't want to totally focus in on one.
which regions are abbreviated specifically here? I don't know them off by heart to the first letter sadly. I was thinking of doing Varla to speed up midgame and do a lot of the new content I haven't tried yet.

@@Groutith I think outside of echo drops the current max melee is looking like M A K. That said there is a lot of room for flexibility. I personally think M covers you late game just fine by itself and V/M both cover other combat styles decently enough for you to enjoy leagues. Grabbing both V & M is good. Can basically take any other region you want. I do like the wilderness as a support region. Good supply drops to help with the big Skilling XP tasks. Bonus points if you get to use the wildly weps every where. That'll probably make your early game the moons armor or barrows depending on which region first. Pick up Wildy weps and then go to ToB, Nightmare, and Araxxor for some additional stuffs.

@YewJackOSRS i took Frem, Mort, and Desert, so had ways of getting vials of water but zero quality ways of eyes of newt. Relied on smelling salts in ToA, and super combats from Sire/KQ. Will never make that mistake again lol
Is Desert ever gonna not be the best? I don't do leagues theorycrafting but from recent leagues my most progress always came from Desert and aren't they changing how you can obtain key items (Godwars and Raid drops)?
Any raid can give the big 3 weapons (scythe, shadow, tbow) so that has weakened the deserts value a bit. They've also opened up DT2 bosses without the need for the desert. Desert is still the single best range region imo given what we know right now. Asgarnia is a close second (and pairs well with it anyway). We may seem some shakeup once the echo drops start getting revealed. In either case, the Desert is a lot less required in this league from the changes so you could branch out if you're tired of that content and it wouldn't be detrimental to your run.
Well desert has the altar teleport, which is godly(along last recall).. but KQ is still a real pain even in leagues.. can't imagine how awful the echo version is gonna be. TOA can do done in a mass without penalty(as in every gets a purple) now.. so maybe that will be the meta for lots of TOA uniques :D

I think they ought to just scale out the chest access with relics or area selection. That way once you have your third area you can just get barrows gloves.
Mole is echo and drops bone claws. this was already decided back when the burning claws had the wrong name. they are gonna be slightly worse than dragon and burning. they will have poison added to the spec only and do higher dps against poisoned mobs. (not players) the echo mole will also deal venom damage, spawns some 120 moles as backup that hit with range. also when digging will spawn fake giant moles in each area. the real one will have green claws that's how you know which one to kill. if you damage any fake giant moles it will blow out light source and they disappear once you damage the real mole. :) Enjoy the new mechanics
It is a really strong reason but I do get it. You can only kill 1k god bosses so many times. I've also taken it quite a bit so I'm likely skipping it this year to try other content out.
@@YewJackOSRS yeah i agree, it was fun going into each gwd boss and bgs speccing till they die and then leaving and tele'ing back in, but the nex grind last league really put me off, constantly competing with people permaspecing with zcbow meant me going pretty damn dry, never finished the all 5 god swords task either after several hundred nex.

I think you pretty much had to do it in a small group otherwise it was a nightmare if you weren't one of the execute guys. I didn't take that relic myself and very quickly learned in the mass that I was getting nothing lol. On the off chance you end up going there again, you can generally find people in the nex bank lobby. Given the league power you only need two, though as I recall most people were asking for groups of 3.
@@YewJackOSRS yeahh i was full door build last league with guardian. torva was the grind that finished me off i did about 200 kills with 40-50 of them being solo rest as duo/trio, and yeah its hard to get the drops with executioners. i didnt even end up on finishing the full torva, i think i ended up 3 helms, 2 legs, 3 vambraces. by that point i was already 10k over dragon so i decided to call it quits.

As someone who didn't pick asgarnia, and took melee, missing out on defender wasn't the worst. It was having no access to eye of newts...

@@YewJackOSRS yeahh i was full door build last league with guardian. torva was the grind that finished me off i did about 200 kills with 40-50 of them being solo rest as duo/trio, and yeah its hard to get the drops with executioners. i didnt even end up on finishing the full torva, i think i ended up 3 helms, 2 legs, 3 vambraces. by that point i was already 10k over dragon so i decided to call it quits.
