    I just met George, the owner of Toynami, today. I found out that Toynami and Pose+ are actually collaborating on making the Alpha Fighter. This is old news. New news - Pose+ actually owns B2Five, the maker of this Mospeada toy. The figure here actually is in scale with the alpha fighter; meaning, this figure can sit inside the cockpit of the Alpha Fighter. The bike however cannot be stored in there. (The Alpha Fighter comes with its packed-bike to be put in storage compartment.)

      While I love the idea of Pose+ making a 1/28 Alpha, and the 3D print mock-ups look cool, I really doubt it will make it beyond the 'cool idea' phase of development. Hope they prove me wrong!

    21:43 well, as kid in the 80s that had most of the M.A.S.K. toys, this scale seems to be in line with those figures. While the cyclone mode is smaller than Condor or Vampire, these figs in armor mode, are nice to sprinkle with other 80s lore toys. Not just VOTOM, but also modern takes on older characters, like the oversized MPP10 Optimus Prime.

    They really need to do a Rook (Fuke) to complete this set.

      I wish they would, but...
      Other manufacturers have said she presents "special engineering challenges," which I assume means "wrapping the bike around breasts is hard." Since the B2fives replace the chest armor for Battle Armor/Ride Armor mode, this isn't a true problem.
      The sad truth is she doesn't sell. Look at the Sentinel Riobot line - the most recent to produce all four of the team. Stick/Scott, Rey/Rand, Yellow... You're lucky to find them on the reseller market under $500. Only Rook/Hoquet is still available at her original retail price. And Big Bad Toy Store had her on sale last month at $129 (instead of her normal $199). It sucks, but it seems she's the least desirable of the set. Everyone wants the boys, no one wants the girl.
      That's why, since the 80's, of every manufacturer of Ride Armor/Cyclones, she's been done three times (with the Gakken just being a red plastic version of the same mold used for the other three), while everyone else has been done six or seven times.
      But, boy, do I hope B2five releases a Rook/Hoquet. I'm just not planning on it. Odds are small.
      Heck, you'd think someone would try to make a quick buck with a Sue Graham/Shinobu Takeuchi figure. Same as Rook, but dark blue armor/bike, with maybe a slight re-sculpt of the hair!

    You can make a 3 wheeler variant by putting the wheels on the outside of the front forks and clipping a wheel to each side then take a wheel from one of your other ride armors and using it for your back wheel. It looks pretty dope.

    Truly a great indepth review of these little B2five ride armor toys! ScorchedEarthToys never disappoints with the details or efforts put into these videos. But I will hold off on subscribing until you get back to finishing your review of the amazing auto transformation Optimus Prime Transformer by Robinson. Please, it has been over a year now since you first showed us that bewildering Robosen Optimus Prime toy!

      It was just too big to fit any of my photo areas! I do love bringing it out at kids parties though. I'll have to see if I can figure out a good option to revisit it.

    A 2.5 inch figure for $55? Yikes! I don't consider that cheap at all. Hope you'll get the just released Threezero VF-1J to review soon. Any maybe the Moshow Mospeada climber in the far future, if they ever make it.

    Yeah, I'm in a strange situation where I'm in a rented house waiting for a sale house to close, so my B2fives have just been sitting in a box for months.
    Meaning this overview is in time to spare me frustration later. 😂
    As I said on your Hellcat review, looks like those guys are close enough in scale to the B2fives to match up. And, as far as I've been able to determine the old Matchbox/Playmates Invid Shock Trooper works out to a roughly 1/25 scale, so also close enough to form a good display with the B2fives. Finally, my ancient Invid has an REF, an SCA, and a freedom fighter to menace!
    Now if B2five would just do Hoquet/Rook. "Special engineering challenges..." You mean "breasts?" This design swaps chest plates for Ride Armor mode. What's the issue?

    Great review!! How did these scale with the matchbox invid shock troopers?

    • @ScorchedEarthToys
      @ScorchedEarthToys  Рік тому +3

      The animation was really inconsistent so if you didn't mind knowing the Cyclones were too small, they would still look fine with them.

    • @triem23
      @triem23 Рік тому +2

      @@ScorchedEarthToysThe Robotech Wiki lists the Invid Shock Trooper as 4.8m (480cm).tall and the Matchbox toy is 20.5cm tall.
      That's a scale factor (480/20.5=) of 23.414.
      Close enough to the B2fives to easily fall within the "slop factor" of inconsistent animation.
      As I've said elsewhere, basically the B2fives are the perfect scale for posing against Matchbox/Playmates Invid Shock Trooper.
      Heck @ScorchedEarthToys, even your own review of the Matchbox Invid Shock Trooper has it at about 1/25 scale so, with animation inconsistency, we still have the B2five as pretty much the perfect scale to pose against a Matchbox Invid. 😂

    Man i love the Acid Rain World toys.
    Never bought any because of the price tag.
    And I really wanted to like this line, because I love Robotech, Macross and Mospeada.
    But this is disappointing and still too pricey for what you get.
    Great review. Very informative.
    Definitely a pass for me.

    I was interested in these but they are too small for the price and the compromises that have to be made because of the scale are a dealbreaker.

      I agree and wish some manufacturer would give us "adversary" toys - action figures at least of the Bioroid fighter (or anything from the Robotech "Southern Cross" universe), or more Zentraedi / Zentradi figures!
      Come on B2five, this is your chance to cover a market that no one else is working in!

    How many more years do I have to cringe from americans calling Macross and Mospeada a "robotech". Even the author of Macross hates it and never approved it so how the hell is it even legal to sell them under a bootleg name like "robotech"?

    • @Recoverel
      @Recoverel 11 місяців тому

      I hear you, but blame Harmony Gold for it. American identifies "Macross," "Southern Cross," and "Mospeada" through localization just like people do in many countries. Even if the anime is called by its original name, the characters' names are likely changed to adapt to the local. (i.e., Ichijo Hikaru 一条輝 becomes Rick Hunter in America or 馬輝 in Hong Kong, for example.)

    • @MrJacksspleen
      @MrJacksspleen 6 місяців тому +2

      It's literally a legal agreement.

    • @sidearmsalpha
      @sidearmsalpha 5 місяців тому +1

      I was introduced to all 3 shows through Robotech. It was legally done so it's not a bootleg. I'm a fan of the original shows too. I'm aware of the shady things HG has done with their licenses to them but they do have a legal right to make merchandise. For people that can't get the better Japanese stuff, this is an option. Plus, Mospeada hardly gets any love in Japan and Southern Cross even less.
