I love the layers for depth too. My trick is this.....I glue 2 scrap pieces of white together and then cut the words I want to use. That saves gluing part of the layers. I love my xyron but it sticks without the wiggle room.
Hi Cathy, I think it would be helpful if you burnished the sticker after you ran it through the little Xeron to attach the glue to the diecut. I have one, in a drawer, like yours it was . . Forgotten! Thanks for reminding me that I have it. I will give mine a try to see if I have better luck. Thanks for sharing your talents with us all. 😘
Such a wonderful, colorful, clean & simple card (for which you are so famous - rah, rah, cis, boom bah!). Love that you channeled your inner Laura with that rainbow color palate. Thanks for brightening a gloomy winter's day, dear lady!
Running your dies thru the Xyron. Before pull the top layer off, run it thru your dies cut machine with and embossing mat. When you pull the top layer off you won't get all the sticky gubers and strings from the glue. The glue will just be on the dies. The key to the Xyron is to really press those pieces together.
My large xyron and sticker maker are both from the early oughts and still work just fine. I was talking to the video while I was watching you, but 😂 clearly you couldn’t hear me. Before you remove the plastic top layer, turn it over and burnish the whole thing with your Teflon bone folder. Your results should be perfect. Love the card and so excited for matching dies to my Tim Holtz Stamps!
I use my sticker maker all the time. You just need to use your bone folder or a squeege on the back of the sticker first and then the front, then peel and it works great. that cements the sticky in place really well. thanks as always for sharing and all the inspiration.
Beautiful card Cathy. Love this color combo. The tips I picked up about using this Xyron is to take a stylus & run it around on the edges of your word on clear side before taking off. Make sure to do insides of the letters too. This breaks the adhesive so you don’t have glue strings. If your stack is still sticky after done stacking dust it with your antistatic powder tool to get it off.
Cathy stop making these adorable cute cards!! My credit cards are starting to smoke! I love that there are now dies to get with this much loved set of bottle brush stamps from Tim Holtz! Wonderful! And how great that they can be used for other cards besides the holidays!!
I have a big Xyron sticker maker that has a role that is decades old. Still works. Amy R recommends buffing it around the edges before removing that top cover layer. That helps keep down the glue strings.
When I used a Xyron, I burnished really well and then ran a toothpick around the perimeter of the sticker and wherever there was an "opening" to pick out the "gloobers" - that way you didn't have all that extra sticky stuff everywhere when peeling it off the release paper. I stopped using the Xyron when I could no longer find refills easily.
I’ve been using those pouches for a really long time now. I really love them. I use them now for all of my big stamp sets. When I get a new Gina K kit. I can put all of the components in one pocket! Same thing with sets that have multiple components. Hadn’t thought about putting Tim Holtz in there, but I will now thanks to you! I really love your cards, Cathy
Beautiful card!! What Kristina Werner & AmyR do with their Xeron pieces is take a pencil or pointy tool that’s not sharp and go around the edges of the shape or word to get rid of the extra sticky pieces. Hope that helps 😊! Love your videos!
When handling the stickers wet your finger tips and you can get them off your fingers better and burnish the sticker s while clear sheet is on them to get the extra stick off the negative space
LOVE this card. All my favorite colors and I'm wishing for that stamp. Cathy, why don't you use the measurements on your mat to place the blank down centered, and you could use that bold vertical line to center your big middle tree. Also, love your typewriter dies. 🧡🧡
Love your card Cathy, I pre ordered the stamp & die set because your card looks so beautiful. I love the colors you chose. Have a great day with your family.❤️🎄🎅☃️❄️🩵☕️🍪
love the card, with the xyron make sure you burnish the word once it comes out before you remove the plastic. That stops the glue mess and it should all stick together... fingers crossed!!
When you roll out the sticker, make sure that you run your bone folder along the edges and over the the to get the adhesive on it. This might help. Card is gorgeous!
Cathy, the Xyron will hold. The beauty of it is that at first you can move it. Giving you that wiggle room you’re always talking about. You need to burnish it onto the sticker before you remove it, and then when you get it down and you’re happy with it, you need to burnish it again . Then, after a while, it will really stick. The only thing I’ve ever had problems with is on glitter paper.
So funny! I just found my old Xyron and used it when I needed to stick things together. Yes, it worked great. You just have to be careful, because it is REALLY sticky. I don't have that magnetic mat, but I use my Make Art Staytion, and I got the extra magnetic ruler, so you don't have to use tape. It really helps when I'm trying to spell words on tags. I love your typeface!
Thinking of getting these dies even though it might cost me alot in international shipping etc. Have used this stamp heaps and cussy cut where i had too. Its my favourite stamp for xmas. Love your card - amazing as always.
Love this card have to see if they get the dies in France sad. Ps You have grids on the mat for a reason lol😢 Centre up your base card on grid line first with thicker line being the centre then everything can be lined up. O have a Xyron in cupboard too I never got on with it but have a friend who swears by it
@@czdesign 😂 It looked great anyway don’t have those trees but I’m going to try it with some others I have. I’m useless at lining anything up without a grid I don’t think my eyes ‘see straight 😂 ‘
I just relocated my Xron gadget too, lately & I even had an extra cartridge for it, BUT it just didn’t seem as handy to use any more, with all those small fine tip glue bottles now! So I gave it to the thrift store! Love your card!🌲❤️🌲
Hi, Cathy! I love bottle brush trees, too! I have amassed a small collection and now know how to make my own as taught from Tim Holtz. I love your card and the joyful colors you chose. I have had the same experience with the Zyron. I don’t think it has anything to do with the age of the glue. Using it on anything that has lots of cut outs or negative space always results in excess glue where it is not needed. Have a great weekend! 😊
Your cards are always so amazing! I have a question for you or anybody else, if you were to suggest one die cutting machine which one would you suggest? I am new to all of this and the options are overwhelming. I have a sidekick that was given to me. I love/hate it. Thank you for any help you can give!
It depends… do you want an electric one? or a manual machine? For electric, I love my Anna Griffin Empres machine. For manual, I have two: Spellbinders Platinum 6 and Gina K. Designs Intri-Cut (that is a newer machine to me, but works great!)
Hi Cathy, love this card, I was also Leary of this stamp set without dies. Thanks for the ruler taping technique, and the storage tips both great AHA moments
@@czdesign Hi, Cathy, and thank you for your response. I have heard you say your coloring had teachers saying “You’re doing it wrong”, so the devil made me send that to you. 😍
Creations by miss has some good Xyron tips - I was amazed
I love the layers for depth too. My trick is this.....I glue 2 scrap pieces of white together and then cut the words I want to use. That saves gluing part of the layers. I love my xyron but it sticks without the wiggle room.
I have had xyron sticker makers, the 2" and 5" and use them all the time with card making; so much faster than glue.

I even run mine through the die cutting machine to press the glue onto the back.
Oh thanks you! @@robint1062 I truly was not sure how it worked!
Super cute card! Love that SSS has made dies for some of Tim’s stamps. So awesome!
Def burnish before you peel the plastic off the top. Need a little pressure. Or Xyron then die cut would accomplish the same!
Yep, burnish a little harder.
Such a wonderful, colorful, clean & simple card (for which you are so famous - rah, rah, cis, boom bah!). Love that you channeled your inner Laura with that rainbow color palate. Thanks for brightening a gloomy winter's day, dear lady!
I’ve never seen the scrubber block! I’ve been stamping for many, many years. Thanks for showing a tool I’ve never seen!

BEAUTIFUL card! ❤ Love it! The bottlebrush dies are a wonderful add on to further enjoy the Tim Holtz bottlebrush trees stamp set. 😃
Love the simplicity of this card and like you hate fussy cutting so like to buy the dies with the stamp sets. Thank you and have a beautiful day.
Great card. LOVE the T square tips. Thank you
Skewt card Cathy! Thanks for posting.❤🎉💜✨

I love this card project. I too, have the small and large xyron machine. Don’t know where they are. But they are here.

I just love this with the non-traditional Christmas colors! Such a lovely card. 🎄❤️

Such a beautiful clean looking card!
Oh, how I love this card 💖 I was trying so hard to resist this die set. After watching this video I realize resistance is futile 😆

So pretty 😍. Can’t wait to order my dies!
Love those bottle brushes. I have last year's set!!!!
That is such a beautiful card. Cathy I tried to the link for the class and wouldn’t work. HELP
Thanks Cathy for reminding me of my zyron machine. Can you give a link to the tim holz video where he was using it?
Sure thing: ua-cam.com/users/liveFeq2isbnL9E?si=SpYCBOdULDjITmA1
I think he had already added the xyron though before they went live!
Seriously best video title ever🤣🤣🤣. Love your card!
Can you tell i love french fries? hahah

How do you keep the trimmer sharper and not squeak?
I don't know. It just works like that. I've had it for six years!
It is self sharpening, so maybe that's part of it?
Hi Cathy, love this card, I was also Leary of this stamp set without dies. Thanks for the ruler taping technique, and the storage tips both great AHA moments
Do they sell the ultra clean in a refill bottle?
I am not 100% sure but I don't see it!
I didn’t see it either however,I thought I would ask you if you knew
They do, but it is hard to find right now.
When you trimmed the card you said 4 and a quarter. Did you mean 5 and a quarter?
4.25 x 5.5 is the ideal finished card size but I took a tiny bit of, so yeah, I may have misspoke!
So pretty! Please tell me the title of that song!!! 6 min.
Oh, it's from … a service I use. Not sure if it's available to the general public!
❤
Great card...love the stamps...but the dies still have that nasty white border, so would never buy them.. Stamping on the card would great! 🙂
Oh you like it close cut? I don't know of many dies that do that! : )
