To me, the SML canon is that prior to the puppet era, these were all home made videos within universe, or documentations of these actual characters. Post puppet era represents a TV show to me, where someone bought the rights to the characters and made a serialised show, hence the new designs, remake videos, and references from characters like Brooklyn Guy that this is all a show (complaints about video quality, breaking character, addressing the audience, etc). I think some videos from the puppet era are based on reality (like Jeffys 20th birthday) but ultimately still just dramatic reinterpretations, kinda like how certain TV show episodes were created with the writers childhood memories in mind
That's an interesting headcanon. I really want to agree with it. That would fix my perception of the characters right now a lot. But knowing the crew's intentions, i'ts likely that the puppet era is meant to erase all of the previous movies from the plush era.

I really liked steve staleburger at the start, he was kind of a sleezy hollywood talent agent who would sell his soul for some notoriety and now hes just announcer guy
Honestly I felt like the plushies were already being phased out before the lawsuit. Ever since Jeffy showed up Logan started to use less and less Mario characters and more puppets started getting used more. Characters like Brooklyn guy went from minor character to main character.
That honestly blew my mind & to this day I still feel like Jeffy destroyed SML, if he should stay a one time character from the very beginning
The moment you mentioned the Dolphin my mind is instantly blown to the point of what the hell happened to him? So nowadays we get generic criminal puppets in episodes instead of the Dolphin.

I think the issue with this era is that the characters mostly rely on one joke
Junior- is a selfish jerk who hates Cody and is a complete idiot
Joseph- Similar to Junior but is a black stereotype
Cody- is the punching bag
Penelope- girl version of Cody who hates Junior is somehow still her girlfriend
Chef Pee Pee- rarely used and when he is, he’s either another black stereotype or a punching bag
Marvin- the bland punching bag who is just tired of everything
Goodman- he’s rich and treats everyone else like crap
Jeffy- The cash cow, not in videos anymore but is only there to torture Marvin or be stupid
Brooklyn Guy- the filler character, used to be funny but now he’s just, “hey, I know we have an important plot doing on here but let me tell you a random story to pad out the runtime”
Rose- The awful girlfriend, always sticks up for Jeffy and I don’t understand why she and Marvin don’t get a divorce already
Actually I have a good video, why not leave Rose alone with Jeffy so she can see what Marvin has to deal with every video

Even if that idea did happen things would return to the status quo
I feel like almost every episode these days just follows 1 of these 5 plot formulas
-Brooklyn Guy is feeling sad for some reason, and goes to Applebee's and the strip club to feel better (which usually makes things worse).
-Jeffy does something to annoy Marvin (which adds nothing to the plot), then the doorbell rings, Marvin answers it, and it's usually Brooklyn Guy or Goodman telling Marvin about something, which starts the actual plot. Usually it's some money or a job that should be life changing, but they fuck it up by the end. (Bonus points if it has Jeffy in the title despite it having little to do with him.)
-A character says something which is interpreted very wrongly by another character. The wrong interpretation escelates more and more until the reveal at the end that it was a simple misconception.
-Junior or Penelope get paranoid that the other one is cheating for no reason and have to do dumb shit to prove they aren't cheating.
-Junior, Joseph and Cody see something on TV and decide to imitate it (and it goes wrong).
Now that's not as bad as every episode using the same exact plot formula, but still, they used to be better than this. I'm tired of these super predictable episodes.

That sounds like the most accurate thing ever, the filler episodes I'll probably forget existed after a while. The videos with creativity put into them like for example Jeffy's 20th Birthday, I'll for sure remember that no matter how much time passes by.
@@Mazzy_Arts Exactly, this could very well be avoided if Logan should re-fix his schedule & his ego, he could at least make it up to 1 or 2X upload a week, so that way any people or any SML fan base could remember those videos up to Months & Years as long Logan should avoid the Fillier ≈ Lazy Route

I fully agree with you, Dab. I think the characters have been getting flanderized much more in this era. Joseph doesn't even feel like Joseph anymore --- a pretty large chunk of his character is just a black stereotype at this point. Brooklyn Guy has been turned from one of the best characters to one that makes me groan when he appears on the screen. "Marvin" is no longer a voice of reason. He participates in the antics of those around him, which I feel goes against the point of his character. Even junior's voice has changed, which I've noticed. He just sounds like Logan talking now. Cody doesn't hit the same, either.
I really hope the cast rewatches some of their old videos to get a feel of how they used to play out their stories. I think SML's quality would go up much more, simply because right now, the characters are in an insanely flanderized state.
I mean, for Junior, he is 15 (almost 16 I think) now, so his voice being different kinda makes sense

The sad part is how Brooklyn Guy didn't even improve after that. We still get too many "Brooklyn Guy goes to Applebee's and the strip club because he's having a bad day" videos.
While that video is decent on its own, but it’s one of those videos that Logan try to brush off the criticisms since Brooklyn Guy’s character hardly changed after that. Hence I don’t trust Logan listening because he does those actions before.
8:27 They SERIOUSLY need to bring back the Dolphin, he was more Funny, and had way More personality than The New Basic Criminals Will Ever Have.
While I may not have been the biggest fan of the Loan Dolphin, I do agree with him having more personality than any of the new criminals in SML.
The loan dolphin not in the puppet era is actually a blessing in disguise because you don't want him to be fladerized too because of Logans bad writing
Logan's story is really sad he went from a nice guy to a greedy paranoid guy his mental health is literally declining & god knows what will happened to him in a few years.
Well if he doesn't want to listen to us, at this point his future is the Bad Future just like Sonic CD, he failed to save his future

i dont know when but i hope one day we get some kind of closure on the plush continuity with fully scripted lnes so all the characters act like their old selves. kind of like the big thanksgiving but with every main sml character

I’m gonna be honest, since we had the puppets for a long time now. I’m honestly used to them, not really as characters, but just the way they look.

I definitely think were in the final stretch but i kind of considered SML to be the end once the plushes were gone. The fact SML has hung on this long is suprising. I know logan said hell hang on til hes 40 but thats about another 10+ years from now i doubt he'll make that long. Lol

- Make The Plot, Humor, & Character more likeable or try making the story watchable & memorable
@@THEAVCREW15 probably but they're already running on fumes as it so I question if it can even come back. I mean the whole premises of SML was mario plush characters but we don't even have that anymore so how can you continue something that was build on that foundation alone but it's gone now. Once Nintendo said he couldn't use the plushes anymore I would of just ended things there quite frankly. Had a series finale movie and retired.

To me, The plush them prior to the puppet era happened, Nintendo just came and stripped their identity of being affiliated with Nintendo and they don’t remember being apart of Nintendo they just have memories and not memories of who they used to be
In Junior's Teeth, Junior says a line that being "But I'm not a turtle anymore!" after Cody tells him Turtles have teeth so I they they do have know who they were before.

To me the Puppet Era is in this state of Limbo, it can be Good and Creative at times but there’s more Bad than Good, it’s like the main objective is to make SML more Fun and Comedic Central because for Logan is on Stress with personal life problems which is a Terrible Idea for a Entertainment UA-cam Channel like SML, but as for the Puppet Design they aren’t Bad but they could have been so much better and it’s Easier to make it right and the Issues aren’t the Puppets but how they use it and it’s all Full of Unfunny Filler, Bad Characters like Junior are Worse than Before and Good Ones like Brooklyn are forever formed shells of Themselves, and Stereotype Characters are more Stereotypical than Ever and even if Nicktendo has Improved are pointless to the Story, SML has become this Mess that is trying to be Edgy, Adult, and Over the Top that think they can be comedic geniuses but there’s no Heart and Soul in it that they try too hard and Crew Members like Logan, Lovell, and Lance are forcing their Senses of Humor that it doesn’t work and Crew Members like Chris, Elaina, and Anthony have so much Potential that is wasted on this Channel Alone, sure SML has some Moments but the sad truth is that it’s there’s Flaws in it that the less they don’t fix or Ignore it the Worse it Gets and if the 3 Video pre Week Schedule doesn’t change, I doubt Logan will change his Channel for the Better like Sega are doing with the Sonic Franchise.

I stopped regularly watching after the SML channel had to be deleted and the Nintendo plushies had to be permanently replaced. Honestly, I hope he does retire soon. He’s obviously not having as much fun with the channel as he used to, and the quality is seriously suffering from what I have seen. Either he gets it together and makes things easier on himself, or he completely burns out and quits.
That is honestly how it would end for SML, it sad but Logan's refusal to take work seriously could very well be his end from his entire career in UA-cam, but really sometimes it best to give us a conclusion to end it all & Logan could really do if he's done of all of it

FACTS LIKE LITERAL FACT, I could say that Nictendo Animation is like Dingo Picture same level of animation, but made in America not in Germany, & his has more than 1080P while Dingo Picture just 240P in terms of Video Pixel Rate, like it's really unbelievable that Logan is going for a cheaper route & have Nictendo with them, no wonder why SML Animation Community is dead because of Logan Favoritism to Nictendo Animation
I think Logan should take a break for a few months or so and then come back stronger than ever to make better quality videos. I still love SML the puppet. I’ve been getting used to over a few years and I hope the quality gets better in a few more months or next year, I think he just need to take a little breakso he can refresh his mind.

Honestly, with the money they bring in, it really does disappoint me as to why they they could not make their videos more creative and more intense... it just feels they have been lazy for years and since they know people will watch their videos anyways, they will keep making videos the way they currently do. The whole point of a successful UA-cam career should be that your videos get gradually better and better to the point you are literally the face of whatever content you do. It is sad that Logan refuses to acknowledge this and does not care about criticisms people make regarding his videos, even if they are supposed to be constructive feedback.
But that will be Logan Greatest Downfall if he refused to listen, his deepest regrets will harm him deeply, & it sad to see a 30 year old couldn't understand what criticism truly is, & now what kind of unbelievable madness that Logan could give all of us for next year

I think it's not a surprise to say that the puppet era has been the worst era of sml so far, the puppet designs feel soulless and dull, the video ideas feel so weird and nonsensical, with them being 50% filler most of the time , characters being generalized to death , videos stretching on and overstaying their welcome, plots that will all be reset at the end , nicktendo animations , and so , so much more , do I have hope for logan ? I'm not sure , if he improves from here , then that's great, and if he doesn't, then oh well

I’m glad I stopped watching SML, even before the Cease and Desist. I just got tired of tired of Logan’s lack of care for the old fans and his inability at handling criticism due to his fragile ego. I’m honestly surprised that some people are still watching him in the hope he changes, though the only thing has changed is Logan making even more terrible decisions then ever before.

The Puppet Era is the worst era of SML. I've been gotten use to the puppets but some like Trailer Park Danny are hard too look at. Penelope is my favorite puppet due to actually looking adorable same with Jr and semi Rose(tho I hate her). The episodes that are in this era are so half assed (Jeffy's Mail Order Bride) or just shit happening (Toy Ray). Hell even other viewers like Quamax are considering to stop watching Logan as he said "alot of the recent ones have just been mad M I D".Also the BIGGEST sin of this era is NOT KNOWING WHEN TO END A JOKE(Summer School 3 Billy talks about alphabet AIDS for MINUTES dude WE GET THE JOKE)
