Ive been watching your videos for years Chris and am not surprised your doing this good!! I would love to fish on your boat Bro !! Keep fishing Captain!!!
Looks like the boat is working out pretty good, Chris! It seems like it can catch fish just fine. Those tunas looked pretty legit to me. I would be gassed out beggin' deckhand Joey to take over haha!
Aloha Chris. Good job. My only hope is you don’t get burnt of fishing. I was good at it, started guiding, did well, and stopped enjoying fishing. Took me awhile to get back into it. Now I fish for myself, good luck!
This is what I warned him about too. Somewhere along the way the love is lost. I’ve seen it through many captains, and it becomes just a job. Maybe do it long enough and the outcome is inevitable?
That's exactly what happened to me on lake Texoma. I was just going to do it seasonally for a few years. It turned into 8 years full time year around guiding. I quit fishing for almost 3 years after I'd had enough. So it's just me, my dad and my wife that I take fishing anymore. Made damned good money. But a lot of times I was going from 3am to at least 7pm or later. During the winter I'd do 2 trips a day. The burnout is real. I even moved all the way up to Montana when I tapped out. 😂
Huge congrats Captain Chris P! 🔥🐟 You’ve got your charter boat and deck hand completely dialed! Super impressed all around. What an absolutely perfect day of fishing!!
Great job out there Chris. Couldn’t wait to see the vid once I saw the pictures in IG. For people looking to get a fish on, ChrisP is a true fish whisperer.
I've fished the bay and delta my whole life and I'm just getting more into the bay/ocean side of things this is amazing didn't think we could catch blue fins out here
it is very amazing and so much fun. The addiction for me is the sound of the line going out from the clicker. Its the unexpected to the most joyful moment. Hopefully you can experience it soon. Thanks for watching
why? i am happy i dont have it. I chose to not get it. Lots of benefits not having it. Dont see the problem lifting over the side. How easy is it to walk down the kicking fis to the end of the boat and then try and drag it through? Plus I have a live well there.
Hell yes captain, nicely done! Hey if you have a tailors tape measure or a sewing tape, or even a regular tape measure there's a pretty good formula for calculating the weight on large tuna, you probably already know it, but if not it works and with minimal effort and a cheap tape measure to get the weight on your clients fish without a block and tackle system. Length x Girth squared divided by 800 = Weight. Cheers, Gone fishing!
WOW!!! Chris 3 for 3 !!! Now that's a perfect score. Many Congratulations and high 5's!! Somehow switching off folks to wind in 1 fish seems somewhat un-sportsman's like? Almost like maybe some fishers need electric reels. Even at 80 years, when I catch a fish, "I" want to catch it. Maybe the fish feel the same way 2-3 fishers against me, "1". In think in Hawaii, they strap the fisher in a chair and let him alone do it. Of course with other fishers wanting a catch, a 3/4 hour fish fight is boring. Congratulations on being a top rate, excellent fish guide!!
The more people you have on the fish the quicker you can hopefully get it in the boat. Less chance for something to go wrong and meat supposed to be better. These are 150lb tuna. with several hundreds of yards of line out. Also the water is colder about 57 degrees. These norcal tuna fight harder then the socal ones so I have heard. This group wanted to share reeling in. Anyone is more then welcome aboard to try and do it themselves. I dont have a chair but a harness for you. Thanks for watching
Hell yeah northerners gettin in on this epic California bluefin bite!!!please share you albacores n send some down to us..😂 Avalon ca! Be safe n good fishing!
Hey Chris. Thanks for sharing again. I'm new to BFT trolling and trying to learn by going out as much as I can and by watching videos like yours. I'm on a 23' Raider and haven't tried to put a third line out and not sure if that's even a realistic goal but would like to try. Couple questions if you don't mind. What are your setback distances and what advice can you give regarding turning? Or do you just run a straight line for a few miles then pull up and turn around depending on where the boils are?? Thanks again Phil
Hello, the setbacks are between 500-1500ft. I have auto pilot. it has me going straight. I hit a button and it moves me either direction 10 degrees at a time. When I want to turn I hit that every 30 seconds or so. It would be a lot more difficult without it.
i know, idiots. gotta hope people seeing it on this video learn so if there every in that position one day they know not to go behind a boat slowed down on a tuna.

Looked like an epic day Chris! Congrats on 3 solid BFT! Curious, are you guiding full time or doing this on the side? Great way to help cover some of your costs for your new boat.
That's awesome Chris! Do you feel like your boat is a little small for a six pack? It looks pretty tight, but maybe it's not as bad as it looks? Not trying to throw shade, I know it's a brand new custom killer boat - just curious :)
just like your mother always told you, bigger is better. I think the boat fits 6 people comfortably. The boat is 27ft in total length. Its rated for 8 passengers, i take 6. The deck is 9ft by 8ft. Whats the point of the question, to find out if its as bad as it looks? Yeah it was an awful time.
@@ChrisPfish2 actually I find bigger isn't always better, for many reasons. It looks tight on the camera and I was wondering if you felt it was tight or you liked the size?
@@ChrisPfish2 I've also been on six packs where the boat was big enough but there was so much junk you couldn't go anywhere but the stern, whereas your boat is immaculate
@@ChrisPfish2😂. What a nice video! How much tuna do you typically get from one of those? And where do they get processed and how much is that? Also, are you going out of half moon bay? Thanks!!
BTW how fast are going for these bluefin. I did my first albacore trip in my new raider boat last month and we caught 22! What a fun fishery and they’re delicious
The deckhand will hold the rod as much or as little as you would like. they wanted breaks and it was there first time. Maybe they felt more comfortable at times having someone with more experience as they learn. There was also combined 1.5hr of fight time edited out. They did a lot of reeling too. They held the rod at the end. Also the fish pull very hard. Its hard work reeling them in.
Your deck hand is absolutely killing it!!!!
Lucky to have him. Thank you
Great job Chris as usual. Glad the boat is working to your satisfaction. We have some new toys coming g out for the boat.
What is it that you’re coming out with? I would like to know
