    Why compressive yield strength is not used?

      Because during compression the length reduces which we take as negative
      And tensile is positive
      Here Syc = Syt
      That's why we have not considered
      Compressive yield strength

      The load apply in respect to X direction that's why we find in segment in X not in Y (no load on Y so - zero ) and ..... 15KNM = 15*10^3 (for kN to N ) * 10^3 (for Meter to Milimeter) == 15*10^6
