Some times I wonder if we consider adaptation and cultural practices before promoting what we often call improve variety with the acclaimed positive with out warning end users about their draw backs.
To me I will advice farmers who doesn't have fertilizer budget and extend weeding budget not to plant TM419. Else the farmer will run at lost.
Pls prove me wrong.
Farmers are encouraged to adopt good agronomic practices for whatever variety they are planting, traditional or improved varieties. With the improved varieties, you don't need fertilizers if you have good soil. TME 419 is one of the best varieties to plant if you have a small budget for weed control. Just use the Six Steps to Cassava Weed Management (ua-cam.com/video/4vWLz6EbQO8/v-deo.html). The only reason you'll record poor results in cassava is if you plant on poor soil or carry out poor weed control.

When it comes to garri production, all these varieties are perfect, they produce top quality garri. But if you are particular about the look and attractiveness of the garri in a bowl, you may consider Fine Face.
