You bring a moment of serenity into a very tumultuous time. Thank you.
I love your videos, thank you.
Is this the 1022 or the 1027?
1027
Definitely looking forward to seeing those glazed. I’d like to hear more about the clay types you use
What is your shrinkage rate?
How are you putting wet pieces of clay to stabilize the shelf...with out any blow up?
For small amount, it’s not a big deal even for a glaze fire.
May I ask how did you install the new regulator ?
I begin pottery and I am the happy owner of a very old SKUTT kiln. I just don't understand yet the process. Did you convert it yourself ?
Thanks anyway; as always, for your inspirational videos.
I installed the upgrade digital controller myself. It’s very straight forward just follow the instruction. Here is a video of someone installed it. ua-cam.com/video/p3_i8xREzKM/v-deo.html
I have always propped my kiln lid till it reaches 1000 degrees to vent moisture in bisque and glaze firing. I noticed that you do not practice this in your firing of the kiln. Is this not needed?
No need, I pulled out 2 of the 6 pugs before reach 1000F though.
Hsinchuen Lin thank you. I’ll try that too
У печки даже нет утепления?!!
Hi there. I was told to bisque fire schedule 50 degrees Celsius to 250 then 80 degrees to 600 and 100 degrees to 1000 Total 13.5 hours. Your firing time is7.5 hours I didn’t know how fast you can bisque fire My pieces are bone dry when putting in kiln. Can you tell me the manual schedule of your firing please
It depends on how thick your ware and how dry they are. You could get it done within 6 hrs if your pieces are thin and completely dry. I was just using the preset program that came with the controller.
Hsinchuen Lin Ok thanks. I will try faster time
I’d go slow at the beginning but fast after 600C/1200F when there is no Physical water/moisture.
Also I may insist on the quiet timing until 600°C/1200°F because of the quartz-inversion effect in the matter occuring at 573°C. I hope that helped if it was necessary.
