Bob Marley is an absolute musical genius.
This and "No Woman, No Cry" are his best recordings.
Also, "Stir It Up", "Buffalo Soldier", "One Love", "Three Little Birds", "Get Up, Stand Up" are fantastic.

1:21 Jay, that instrument is a keyboard called a Clavinet, made famous by Stevie Wonder on "Superstition".
Bob Marley is always good, but there is so MuCH more to the reggae and earlier ska genre to discover. I recommend "Pressure Drop", "54-46 (Was My Number)" by Toots & the Maytals, "You Can Get It If You Really Want" by Jimmy Cliff, and "007 (Shanty Town)" and "Israelites" by Desmond Dekker & the Aces.

Watch “No Woman, No Cry” live from the Rainbow. It will take your appreciation up a couple notches. You’ve stereotyped Bob but “Redemption Song”, “Exodus”, “Buffalo Soldier”, “Get Up, Stand Up” are well known songs that will expand your horizons. A little deeper “Slave Driver”, “400 Years” definitely not just happy music.

The lead guitar heard throughout the song uses a technique called deadpicking where the palm of your picking hand rests on the strings while they are being plucked, creating a muted sound. It's a key element of reggae lead guitar, which sometimes also follows the bassline. There are many other great reggae bands and singers, Bob Marley drew his inspiration from many of them. 🏝🇯🇲🎶🎸

That "odd" sound like something is rubbing against something, is a instrument called (i believe) a Cuica and is basically a friction drum.
I believe it is originally a Brazilian instrument but it found popularity in Reggae as well, used as part of the percussion instruments they use.
Now on Reggae, Bob Marley is obviously the big one, but Reggae being a world music means there's a LOT of bands who've created some of the best Reggae out there.
Be they from the UK like Aswad, Steel Pulse, or Linton Kwesi Johnson, Lucky Dube from South Africa, Alpha Blondy from the Ivory Coast, or Israel Vibration, Burning Spear, or Peter Tosh from Jamaica, all these bands create(d) some of the finest Reggae you can find out there, but obviously there are many.. many more great artists you would love as well.
Reggae is a tad under-rated and deserves more recognition than it gets, there's sooo many gems to be found, for instance, i just know that Amber will absolutely love Gregory Isaacs , Jacob Miller, and Ijahman. (hint, get her to listen to those! :P )

Bob Marley and the Wailers and Peter Tosh were like the Beatles and The Rolling Stones of the reggae world, but there were really many of significant bands and artists.
For one that isn't so emotionally upbeat, and yet it's funky and you really want to get into the hypnotic groove of it, but it represents a lot of frustration and pain and weariness, but also a sense of strength and knowing how to get through it, check out, from the final studio album before Bob Marley died, the iconic album Uprising, the song called "Work":

Bob Marley, the man, the legend! Love this song. You can't go wrong with any of his iconic classics, but "No Woman, No Cry" is probably my all-time favorite.

I've listened almost exclusively to Reggae⚫🔴🟡🟢⚫ for the last 35 years. So finding your channel 2 years ago has been fun for me to rediscover all the old rock n roll tunes I used to listen to long ago. I've been to hundreds of reggae concerts, and met many of the musicians, including almost all of Bob Marley's children (Ziggy, Stephen, Damian, Julian, Ky-Mani, Rohan, Robbie, Cedella, and Sharon). So I've heard just about every single song Bob Marley has ever recorded. Most of the suggestions you're getting here are all Bob's "Greatest Hits" and they all appear on the well-known compilation album "Legend". But, to me, those songs are kind of worn out --- I've heard them all so many times. Bob has SO MUCH more music than those!!! Please try some of his other songs, like: Natural Mystic, Jah Live, Concrete Jungle, Forever Loving Jah, Lively Up Yourself, African Herbsman, Bad Card, Wake Up and Live, Coming In From the Cold, Mr. Brown, Rainbow Country, Nice Time, and A-Ma-Do. Thanks for playing more Reggae!!!😊Jah Bless, Jay & Amber!❤💛💚

With its rhythmic background instrumental this is Bob Marley's greatest song.

"That" is called a clavinet, a specially tuned electric piano that was popular with funk musicians in the early 70s. In the right hands (Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston, the Wailers' keyboardist) it sounds like a musical weapon. Even Led Zeppelin used it!
For a different take on reggae, play the song "Love Ain't Fair," by Atlantic Starr. Recorded in the NYC suburbs by a band whose founders came from North Carolina. Or, an instrumental version of "Could You Be Loved" by Jamaican piano master Monty Alexander.
And there's lots of great angry reggae out there too...

Hi there. " No woman no cry " live, it's Bob Marley top of the mountain song. Another super soul who died too young, before reaching the top of his creativity. (Like Hendrix and others). Mick jagger was very responsible on Bob Marley's early success, and also on Jimmy Cliff, and others
