I still play on spt3.9.3 and sain3.0.6, I probs won't switch anything up until I either find a new mod I really want or we get the new wipe added. Since I'm very new and have put down alot of dad-gamer-esque tweaks to my other mods and SVM, I didn't want any super aggressive bots in my games. I also got the mod at the same time sain broke that maxxed out all hearing distances (about 3x) so after a lengthy ground zero round of absolutely experiencing every type of bot i'd probably encounter; I set the preset to "easier", removed the "reckless" archtype, made chads rare (about 15%) made gigachads even rarer (about 2%), put on 'Head, eyes' protection, made nades rare, and set all characters, except boss goons to taunt and chat.
Hi, thanks for the videos. Do you feel like default preset (without touching anything) is good enough for a ''realistic''/difficult scenario in this version, or are bots too dumb/easy on default? I'm more into the difficult experience but I don't want to feel like the AI is unfair and playing against bots cheating who always know where I am and have perfect aim, which is what ''Death Wish'' looks like, thanks.
You're welcome! No, I would definitely adjust the values in SAIN's default preset to make the bots behave more in line with CINEMATIC realism because some personalities start out too capable and others too incapable. It's all circumstantial in regards to how you play, so flip on God Mode and run some raids to provoke the bots and see what needs to be changed.
10minute video called "SAIN guide for SPT" And only 1 minute of actual guide, not even explaining settings and handwaving "just move the sliders untill you find the right spots" Mate, your video is a showcase, not a guide
The option sliders are really pretty intuitive. How multiple changes will affect the ai in specific situations and in combination with other mods like questing bots or the mod that makes shadows hide you can be very weird. I've been playing with the settings and right now I'm pretty happy with the daylight behavior but they're a bit blind at night until I shoot and then they laser in on me. I think there are some mods that use sain to make some more generally "realistic" behavior if you aren't willing to experiment with the sliders.
@@Skenderbeuismyhero I was kinda hoping to find a explanation for a slider that might alleviate that bots ability to shoot you in the face while actively sprinting through a doorway
@@Pegases0 go to Aiming in the global settings. Turn on 'Always aim center mass'. Turn off 'PMCs aim for head' and 'global faster cqb reactions'. You could also mess with the 'aim down sight time multiplier' slider. Increasing it will make them take longer to shoot at you.
@@secfeed6987it's a topic of discussion in the SPT discord, there's some interaction between the newest versions of That's Lit and SAIN that makes the bots seem to aimbot you more often than previous versions did
I'm genuinely confused about why people think SAIN is a good mod. I tried it, and was killed three raids in a row the moment I went to consume a provision or heal. I'm not a dummy, I don't do these things out in the open, or when a scav or PMC is aware of my presence. Yet, it didn't matter, literally no matter what I did, the very moment I went to heal or consume a provision an AI showed up and instantly killed me. This isn't replicating the live version, it's making SPT feel like 25 cheaters are on the map at all times. When I installed the mod I left it default, I guess I could go through and make changes but I'm confused as to how the author of the mod thought this was reasonable. If I wanted to deal with cheaters, I'd go play live Tarkov. I get the feeling a lot of people say this mod is good, for no other reason than other people say it's good. My experience with it was the opposite, and I need to be more careful now about trusting what the SPT community considers a good mod, because SAIN simply isn't. In my four years playing live Tarkov, I haven't been killed a single time consuming a provision. In three raids playing SPT with SAIN I was killed twice while consuming a provision, and once while healing. If people find this "fun", then they have a very different definition of fun than I do. I find it absurd and will never use this mod again. I like the idea of more natural scav behavior, and along with waypoints liked the idea of AI roaming the entire map, but those benefits are far outweighed by what I've mentioned above.
One of this week's videos will be about performance again, so yes! In the meantime, my previous videos regarding SPT performance are still relevant if you haven't seen them.
Would you happen to know or use a mod that introduces modded weapons to the Bot loadouts? I love realism's loadouts but he said it require a lot to integrate modded weapons. Do you have an alternative whilst retaining Realism mod and maybe just turning off his loadouts?
I haven't tried integrated them into my game yet, but mods like ABPS and ALP both do that. What I need to figure out is how compatible they are with Realism Mod and if there's any necessary configuration.
@@thestarvox thanks for the mod name drops. I'll do some testing when I get the chance. I assume the only configuration would be with the bot changes. I will miss the realism's gun and kit presets though.
@@thestarvox thanks man! I think i got it now! Another question. Is there any way to keep the scavs like in Tarkov? I have the feeling they now have the same "difficulty" as the PMCs.. I play with Sain Donut and questing bots.
Animation pack? I don't think there are any for SPT. Spawns are determined why whatever AI spawn mods you use, like Donuts or MOAR. Both have configs to control such things, with Donuts having the easier method.
Could be several things. There are Vision Multipliers that control how quickly bots acquire targets in view, but I haven't had to adjust them myself. Have you tried it with all the presets or changed any?
Quite possible because SAIN bots are now super super capable and will be properly responsive to all activity, just like live players might be with their volume turned up and whatnot.
If it's green on the Filebase, it's compatible with current SPT. Be sure to read all about it and then some or you'll be in for a series of big surprises.

you can use spt profile editor and transfer over most things. will be a bit tedious for stash content and updated quest chains. for incompatible major version profiles you'd need to take manual note of eveything in the profile and enter them by hand in the new profile.

Imagine if the community can make a rts mod with SPT, they added planes and vehicles long before BSG did.
