Loved this series! I bought a rough CT70 from a buddy of mine this spring and I plan on attempting a complete restoration over the winter. These old Honda's deserve to be maintained and used.

This has been a great series. Thanks to all your hard work and wanting to give to a good charity. The CT70 brings back a lot of memories, all of them good.

Yeah in high school I had a trail 70 it was I think green. Boy that was like 45 years ago. It got me through a fun or a tough time considering I really wasn't a good high school student. Thank goodness girl at the time actually help me graduate and she helped a couple other guys graduate. And thank goodness she married me and she still my wife after 45 years. Two things I like my wife and that Honda 70. Oh I've gotten bigger bikes I ride an old Harley Softail now and I work on bikes but I like that 70.

Suspension is terrible, Handling is terrible, Stopping and accelerating is weak at best. Motor is ok for a 70cc. But since it is over 50cc, it requires plates and insurance and all that stuff here in Colorado. That is expensive price to pay for a bike with a top speed of only 40-45mph tops!! Maybe 48 at sea level. Not sure. These are just not good bikes for anything really. For 2500, you can get a good BMW 1150 with 30k miles, never down and will do every thing you ever dreamed of and will actually be safer to ride. This CT70 can not get out of its own way. As it is stated, it is a trail 70. Good for the trail as long as there are no sharp bumps which will bottom out the front forks and the headlight will come out and bounce all over your front chrome fender until you can re-install it. The wires will keep you from losing it. And the handle bars, well, as soon as the bike falls over on the trail one time, it bends the bars together so your grips will be tilted upward and it does not help handling at all as the bike was not a handler in the first place due to such tiny diameter wheels. No one ever folds the bars in the transport it anywhere. No cross bar makes for tweaked bars all the time!! If you want a decent 70cc trail/dirt bike from the 70's. Look for the SL70 XR75 or other similar models that have correct wheels, bars, suspension and frame. Enjoy the ride.

I owned a 1972. The only thing good about this bike is the motor is dependable. Everything else is terrible.

Not unless you know how to take care of them and can handle a bike like this, like Andy! Sounds like you missed out on a lot of fun!

@@linneasmith9522 Only a trail bike if that. Look for an XR75 or SL70 from that time frame as they are way better bikes.
