  • It was rainy and relaxing so carving something listening to the rain was the thing to do on the day. I found a dead tree on the beach the other day and cut down some wood out of it. The wood was fibery and light. I used a chisel, carving knives and an axe to carve the spoon. I had so much fun. Summer has come officially in Okinawa so I'm excited to enjoy outdoor activities! Hope you are having a good weekend :)

That spoon turned out just great, very nice! Nerd fact: Mai's hatchet is from Gränsfors bruk in Sweden, and has the initials "EB" stamped on it. That means it is made by the blacksmith Erik Blixt, they all sign their work by stamping their initials on the finished axehead.

Nice video again. It's fascinating to watch how a block of wood turns into a beautiful utility article. How long did it take to make it?

Hi jorluo! It took around 2 hours. It would’ve been much faster if I could use axe more to shave off the wood but it started raining outside after a while. It was so much tho :)
