1) Microphone sensitivity - You can adjust sensitivity for Hotword on the Google Assistant settings through Google Home.
2) Smart assistant - Instead of doing a comparison to say which is smarter or faster, you simply quoted AZ1 processor. It could be an improvement on previous gen but how do we asses its better than Google assistant?
Lastly you talked about Echo being better due to Firestick integration but then Nest Mini uses Google Maps, Search, Duo etc all of those products are the category defining products with millions of users while amazon has no comparitive products in those. Apologies but expected a proper comparison and not quoting Press articles of updates to Echo.
Not saying Google is better than Alexa or vice versa, but I came to this video to see the answer to it which I didnt get.

*I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also **Newest.Technology**, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.*

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

I think there is a huge difference in mic capabilities of both of them when music is playing from them. Google almost member listens. So Alexa rocks. Probably in next test include this kind of test also.

@@just_very_queer lol for that price no one would compare it with cheaper echo dot or home mini, it compares at the price with echo and google home and they are both much better than homepod mini. Also you can't play music in homepod mini😂😂 without apple music subscription.
The problem is that Echo Dot smart features are great only if u r into the Amazon ecosystem
I've tried several of both including the larger 4th gen Echo. Each has their pluses and minuses. The Nest Mini has good sound and responds very well to commands. But it has a fatal flaw in that it disconnects from the Bluetooth on my iPhone on a regular basis. This is corrected by unplugging it and plugging back in, until the next time (if you search the internet, many people have reported this problem). I purchased three of them and they all did this, even using different modems/routers, which is maybe why Google has discontinued it. The Echo has good sound, does not disconnect from the internet, but is not as responsive to commands. I frequently have to repeat commands and shout. I've tried the Dot, the new larger Echo 4th gen and the Echo Studio. The Echo Studio less so, although aesthetically, the thing is huge and I wanted something smaller. . I should mention my primary use for these devices is to listen to audiobooks, shopping lists, set timers and reminders.
I have Google Home and Google Home Mini devices (8 total). I’m a network nerd and own a small MSP. I have thrown every mix of wireless AP into the mix, but nothing changes the fact that on the order of about every two weeks, the majority of the Google appliances will shout, “hang on while we get connected to Wi-Fi” or some such thing. And you’re right about the solution being unplug/re-plug. You don’t get to alpha test your garbage on consumers. Happy to spread the word and spend my money with their competitors. Girlfriend is outfitted with Echos and never has one gone offline (also on a network I set up and manage). Just ordered five Echos for myself. I don’t know if I can even sell my Google devices in good conscience. These things just need to die in electronics heaven.

@@fernandyas for me, it had nothing to do with any handsets on the LAN (iPhone or Pixel). About two weeks ago, I swapped all of the Google Home and Home Mini devices for the latest Echo and Echo Dots. So far so good, not a hint of trouble.

I have both, and I should say the Echo dot mini is easier to use and smarter. The UI and functionality of the Alexa app is also way better than the Google Home app.
There is no zigbee hub in the echo dot $th gen as per product description on the Amazon. Can you please confirm ?
Thanks. I think I'll buy both of them. One is easy to find my song from Google Nest Mini better than Amazon Echo and other one was sound quality and a lot more things can do better than Google Nest Mini.

I love Google to bits Alexa is pretty close to Google assistant now but Alexa still isn’t as good the nest mini sounds great but the echo dots tend to be a bit more balanced sounding but I got both I’ll take the echo for sound and Google for assistant

I have both Amazon Alexa and google assistant devices
And you are wrong on some major things
1. Google assistant is smarter than Amazon alexa
2. Mic sensitivity can be increased in the google home app
3. One feature in which amazon can't even compete with is the cast function
so many more reasons google assistant is better
In summary, Amazon makes nice hardwares, I love their hardware more while google makes better software experience

Probably late response but you can't link them, Google home mini and Alexa use different chipset architectures so they're not compatible.

When compared, Echo is good, but 4th generation has it's own issues with Speaker quality, using it as bluetooth speaker. Mic performance etc..
This is the first time Echo launched with different modes: Dolby, clock, normal etc..

Having used Next mini for a while, if your preferences are Hindi and more responsiveness prefer Alexa.
The music listening experience as in syncing and finding songs is best with UA-cam music, which is paid and Spotify and Gaana can't keep up with it if you listen to Hindi old songs and English is better on Spotify. But YT music is the best of both worlds and runs flawlessly with the nest.
Sometimes Nest mini doesn't listen at all and doesn't even stop when I prefer ganna as my main music service. Rest in my past experiences I preferred Google cuz I am more into the Google ecosystem, but really asking a few questions and listening to music is all you will be doing. And Alexa's Hindi is surely a wow factor.
And after using nest mini, I think I should prefer Echo dot over this, especially because if you have those bright blue lights, it's easier to detect if they are listening to you or not if you have a disabled sound trigger, which I am unable to know in nest mini and it's annoying at night.
Don't buy Nest mini in name of Google. Thank you
