I learned to crochet with your videos about 4 years ago (your Curtzy Crochet series) and now I'm making sweaters, blankets, C2C, hats.... I get so much fun out of crochet and it's helped me keep good dexterity in my hands (I have hypermobility syndrome and dodgy joints). Much love from the UK.

Mickey, I wanted to say thank you for all your crochet tutorials!!!! You do such a fabulous job. I'm totally enjoying BOTH of your CALs right now. I hope you don't get upset with me though!!!! I didn't have access to any Bernat Pop yarn, when this all started. I didn't really have a yarn to compare it to. I know it's a medium 4 weight yarn, but none of my 4 weights were working for the color scheme that I wanted to use with your CAL theme. The closest colorway that I ended up picking for my Afghan, ended up being a 3 weight Mandala yarn. It was turning out just GORGEOUS, until I got to your bean stitches!!!! I hope you don't mind, but I modified those rows a little bit. I did 2 rows the way you instructed and my Afghan was getting too holy and wavy. This is where I frogged all the bean stitches out. I experimented a little bit and I found the solution to my 3 weight delema!!!!! When I started those rounds, I only did 1 chain between each bean. My beans were also adjusted. They looked more like twigs, instead of beans. Oh my!!!! So what I did is I just added an extra dip into that hole. That seamed to fatten them up to where I needed them to be. Now my bean stitch rows don't look so gappy!!!!! It's still your concept and it still looks like your design. I'm sorry if you get upset with me. Please forgive me, but I just LOVE the look of your pattern so much!!!!! I didn't want to be left out. I was beginning to feel like the witch in Hansel & Grehtle!!!! I had to fatten my little beans up a bit. Lol. Now I'm back to your actual instructions. PLEASE don't kick me out of your CAL!!!!!!!
I’m loving this so much. I’m starting round 21 I think with double chrochets little confusing with the double and half double but I printed the notes and diagrams. Thank you for sharing this!
I'm having a great time with my first CAL. My complaint is that I must go to work on Mondays when I would rather stay home and crochet with the week's video :)

I’ve said many times that you are the crochet God and in my home when I say to my family “well Mikey said........” they get a chuckle but at the same time they know I show great respect for you. I am in love with this CAL. However I love them all. I watch the video, and print the instructions. Though I notice that the diagram that you show at the beginning and throughout the video is different than the one that is printable. In the printable one it shows 2dc in the corners of the back post rows and in the row where you put 2 dcbp in the first dc after a corner it shows only one is placed. Though the written instructions are the same as your video teachings. For those that don’t understand written instructions and don’t have time to watch the video will get confused when in the future they are off their count because the diagram doesn’t show the 2nd double back post.
both stitches for me are great and I do not have a problem with the popcorn stitch I think personally it might have been better the popcorn stitch it would have brought out the blanket more
I am a week behind. My question is your video written pattern and diagram for row 21 do not match, extra confusing on written pattern than video and diagram. I followed what you said on the video. Row 21,22,23 all have dc in corners on the diagram. Both video and written pattern have hdc. Should fix this for clarity. Love all you do just trying to make it not confusing for those of us who check our work to be completely correct. I am OCD about my crochet, my husband says my favorite thing is to frog.
At 9:37 or 9:38 in the video, you say to do a dc in the beginning v stitch, but your hands show that you are doing a hdc which is what the pattern instructions call for. Did you happen to notice this in your video?
Bark Patrol I noticed the same thing he’s saying half double crochets but looks like he’s doing double chrochet. I’m just getting ready to start that row now I’m confused. Mikey please clarify
I'm enjoying the CAL and every thing it is fun so thank you for doing it. However, with the video and written pattern, there are times where you speak and move too fast. I have to rewind several times to catch it. So maybe in the future, take a breath and slow down when you speak.
I'm not sure I'm doing the bean stitch right, because there's a thread sticking out from the side on every one. I tried it for a round and then tried the puff stitch. The puff stitch doesn't have this weird piece sticking out.
My pattern shows one dcbp after the corner on 22, with? I noticed this when I was checking to see if we were doing hdc in that corner. I am just bewildered how the pattern comes out looking ok without doing hdc here.

I'm so annoyed. The downloaded instructions say to yo and draw up a loop X 3 yet the video shows something different. The instructions say draw through the loops and chain 1, however the video shows draw through 5 leaving 1 on the hook then yo and pull through. Not blaming anyone in particular, but it would really help if the pattern matched what Micky was showing me visa verse 🙈😔
Hi Mikey. My bean st. Had string that shows on back .is that how it should look? Also when I join my rounds to me it looks sloppy, not like my other corners. Any tip on how I can he neaten up my joins,so it is not so obvious? Thank you
Rita Dixon I agree. If you do a wrap first and then finish as stated that gets rid of that string, I also like the standing HDC instead of chains to begin, just a suggestion. I also find Mikey sometimes says a HDC then does a DC so I’m wondering if his videos are edited, having said that, the amount of work and effort that must go into doing one of these is mind boggling, so mistakes are human,, he is getting paid though isn’t he? I hope he is,

At 14: 21 it's a hdc, ( its the hdc, ch1, hdc) space but you say to hdc that stitch but you do a dc stitch instead, I'm stuck here, can anyone help me plz

They released a preliminary version that was edited. It was the previous revision during the review process by accident.

Its a nice blanket but i personally like the popcorn stitch to the bean stitch. I do not have the problem with the yarn snagging

Joann Miller I don’t like these either . I’ve discovered if you wrap the yarn before you go into the space you get rid of the ‘legs’.
