I have 800 hours on my main account at AR57 and i have alts for all servers that are AR55+. Well my EU account is AR53. Its my only account with ganyu and i hate archers on a whole so i dont really play it as much

@@brianhm23 there's a distinct difference between dry humor and legitimate complaints about characters being way too unbalanced and overpowered, like Ganyu and eventually Zhongli, and he's right to criticize mihoyo over it.

that zhongli first banner era tho....i heard about the complaints but I did not mind he is weak or not I just liked his character design and pulled for him. And it was funny seeing all of my friends who used to tell me its a waste to pull for zhongli became the biggest zhongli enthusiast

I pulled for him pre-buff, but was disappointed that he was so weak as a support or DPS that I never put him on my teams. I'm glad he was buffed, so I can finally use the character I liked.

Can't agree. I was new to the game at the time and I really wanted a main DPS since I didn't have one that I'm satisfied with, so he was the first ever 5* I pulled. I was extremely disappointed, and he wasn't even good as a support/shielder back then.

well his amos bow is r5 and does the same dmg as others who spend a lot building her w any other bow or even r1 amos
@@sav5465 whale ganyu really is on another level. I tried the craftable bow, luckily got r3 of it. Put blizzard on her with 2.2k atk 29 crit chance 209 crit dmg 61.6 cryo dmg (i think). 13k 25k bloom then 15k 128k dmg if the bow effect tactivates. This is with Tenacity Zhongli's shield already.
Now with that build add C1 R1 Amos lv90, it hits 17k 30k+bloom dmg already without Zhongli.
Now but with C6 R5 amos 40-50k+ bloom would be normal. I'd probably get bored by that. Not to mentions whales can literally farm good artifacts in a day.
Lol as if most 5* C6 and R5 5* aren't broken lol.
@@sav5465 the problem is he wasn’t leveling up her normal attack it was only at 3 that’s the only reason is dmg is so low I have ganyu with a good decent build and she does more than this between 25 and 40k

Funny enough it seems after Ganyu the opposite started happening, characters seem to be fluctuating on how they are balanced. Some seem questionably weak or strong but not all encompassing.
Its almost like they are scared of making another Ganyu.

@@dragonweirdocreap this my guess but mhy probably learned to balance the power levels of the characters properly from the incidents on 1.1-1.2. It might not be because they're scared of making another ganyu, but ganyu's scaling was probably their response to the zhongli controversy (together with the zhongli buff which I still don't find necessary imo). I much prefer the state most new characters are in right now honesty, very good in terms of dmg, etc. but not ludicrously broken like ganyu

Ganyu's existence is complicated imo. On one hand Genshin's a pve game so it's not as bad bcs players don't have to pull for her/keep up with the meta to have a good experience with the game unlike in Honkai but on the other hand it's kinda annoying how some ppl keep comparing new dps to her, it's just people being people I guess. Also she's a perfect option for casuals who don't farm that often because how easy it is to build her and get good output but again it's weird how many things in the game favors her, like blizzard strayer and cryo resonance giving her high crit rate without any sub stats, her being cryo allowing access to melt that deals big dmg and freezecomp that makes it easier to aim, and her big multipliers. All of this advantages outweighs the downside of her squishy playstyle.
What’s even funnier (as a Ganyu and Zhongli main myself), is that she goes great with Zhongli, one of the things that might’ve caused her to get so broken in the first place
also other than cryo immune enemies she practically has no weakness
on paper ganyu is one of if not the strongest dps. in reality unless you are mechanically perfect you will be doing much less dmg on her. if you miss 1 shot every 5 shots thats 20% dps loss. now if you hold a shot for over 2 seconds that's a 10% dmg loss every extra second you hold a charged shot for.
personally genshin is a chill game to relax to and aiming on ganyu just isn't it.

The biggest winners are those who just play who they want because they like them. Granted the meta of these games is pretty interesting and I actually enjoy how invested some people are. I’m a Ganyu main and I’ll easily admit that she makes the game significantly easier. I’m also a whale haha, I’m completely in love with Genshin. I think it’s obnoxious when other Ganyu mains act superior and vice versa, that kind of talk always sucks the fun out of the conversation.
I’ve never seen Kanae but I definitely agree, I also think it’s fine to not like Ganyu. At the end of the day the game is fun and Ganyu is great cuz she sleeps a lot :)
some people use zhongli as main, some other use raiden, and others use different character as their main. it's alright cause it's all based on personal decision and playing style (there's people who archer's freak and others are claymore maniac etc etc). main problem occur when you see other player's dmg ability with other character, like ganyu or hutao, that you never use that cause lack of fondness or control, and try to push yourself using that chara you can't control it fully, in the end you suffer and angry cause you can't be like others. that's the problem that exist in genshin right now
I've only used Ganyu in her quest and the event, and while sbe is nice and kinda broken, I don't enjoy her playstyle of spamming charged shots whatsoever, it feels kinda off on mobile to walk while charging
(I have Sara and currently she's the only bow user I charge shots with)

The biggest winners imo are the people who haven't poured any money into this game and actually just play for fun and enjoyment. Ngl i put in a good amount into this game, but now im burned out from doing the same repetitive things everyday in the spirit of "keeping up" my account so i feel like the money i spent was worth it. It kinda made me dread the game and gacha and i wished i just started off as an f2p so i could comfortably take breaks when i want to and not feel the pressure of being left behind and losing my money's worth.

Oh god, I felt that- when Ganyu came out, so many people in coop just one shot shit that it got so boring lol. That time it just wasn’t fun at all though it’s probably cuz it’s been a while since she had her run and new players appeared. I fear her rerun. Hutao and Xiao are a lot more fun imo like they’re pretty broken but not like no-brain, y’know?
Hu tao and xiao have a "ok if i dont manage my Hp i will get obliterated off the face of the earth so i will let my other teammates take care of my hp while i deal damage"mindeset, ganyu is just "lmao just throw in a hydro user in there i will obliterate everything while they can't move a muscle, and if they do break out of the permafreeze i will just throw in my super low cooldown taunt that also deals immense damage and lets my AOE A R R O W S obliterate everything in there dont worry its totally balanced"
to define fun is a bit risky. everyone has their own standard when it comes to fun playstyle. I do have ganyu, xiao & hutao and I really don’t like playing xiao on mobile, I keep missing the plunge attack all the time.
I mean, Xiao be like: jump attack, jump attack, jump attack. Ah yes, it's really fun. And Qiqi mark is on the enemy btw. You don't have to worry about your hp.
Hu Tao be like: 3-4 Charge Attacks and the eneny is dead (if you have good stats). Its so much fun. Nice
Ganyu can be really fun, if you use M1 + R. My Ganyu is not that broken so i have to use this technique to maximize my dmg. And it's harder to charge shot if you play melt Ganyu. You can be easily interrupted.
@@mcgosch I mean, fun is subjective, but imo it's more fun if you have to constantly reposition yourself to dodge the enemies' attacks while actually hitting yours (Xiao's plunge for example can miss. It's not just jump - attack - repeat unless you're playing against a stationary boss). Hu Tao on the other hand needs a good stamina management. You can't just spam your charged attacks and expect your opponent to roll over and die unless you have C1. Archery is probably my favorite playstyle in Genshin, but Ganyu is just not it. One shotting a crowd of enemies just by standing 400m away while your flower tanks the hits for you is a little dull.
Co-op is shit anyway. There’s nothing to do but grind overworld. Who the fuck wants that!? I’d rather have people be able to help with the Azhdaha fight or Signora. They restricted you way too much.

No streamers deserved to be shitted on for saying a character is strong or weak. Kanae is not even an influental genshin mained streamers, he just play for fun and repeatedly says to not follow his different way of playing genshin or to mind his opinion much. I just watch kanae because he's one of my favorite livers in nijisanji. you hear stories about genshin impact fans being crazy on twitter but dang, some really are a bit crazy.
Love her or hate her, Ganyu kinda broke the games balance, the fact that every character after her isn't as all encompassing in terms of dmg as Ganyu says alot.
It's too late to do anything about it, the fact they stealth buffed Ganyu twice out of fear the banner wouldn't sell was pretty bad move as well. Genshin do be a PvE game, but Ganyu really messed with how Mihoyo has been balancing characters since.
That's true. Every other character was balanced, but ganyu straight up broke the game. With her cons you don't even need to charge her arrows. Now everybody expects newer characters to be as good as her or even better which might not be possible

Kazuha powercreeped Venti and he's not chinese, I mean Liyue 3 though having caveats aren't dependant on supports and can achieve outrageous damage easily unlike others who are situational like Ayaka ult can be dodged easily

A c6 ganyu have the same damage in charge shots as a c0 ganyu, because cons don’t upgrade basic attack talent level and almost all her cons are skill upgrades not damage multipliers.
@@constabrielbell4523 Dude let's not forget that 2 of the constellations directly levels up your 2 talents, Ganyu might be a charged shot character but not everyone is using her that way. Some people use her in melt comps just for ultimate, SO it still directly affects the overall DPS output.
For example she doesn’t even need to charge her shot after using her skill. And also one of her C's also makes her decrease the Cryo resistance of the enemy. How are these not affecting her DPS output? :D
@@constabrielbell4523 actually her C1 reduces Cryo res of the enemy it hits after a full charged shot, directly increasing her damage for her shots, and skills. C1 Ganyu will do more damage than C0 in charged shots after 1st hit.

And they sacrificed kokomi's crit for 25 health who asked for that mihoyo 😭😭 //i was being sarcastic, i know there's players who want to have a character they can build/balance etc, but I do honestly think mihoyo did kokomi dirty by making her a confusing character, she meant to be a support but her skill upgrades and stuff help with damage, even her weapon isn't great, despite this i have kokomi because she's a lovely designed character

@@Caelum_01 yea, unfortunately when ganyu came out it completely messed up all the balance the game had, I feel like koko has a bit too many draw backs though, it's fine that she can't crit I can tell they wanna try new things, but I think her kit needs tweaks and a buff like zhongli's
@@mysticxjuice i personally side with Mihoyo on Kokomi though, like I get what they're trying to achieve and agree that a lesser focus on crit farming is healthy in the long run. The only buffs I want for Kokomi is higher HP scaling or a movable Jellyfish. Besides, we all know how the community overreacts -- like how so many complained that Raiden is trash until a few weeks later. Childe is amazing and it took months for people to accept that.

The game being in a early stage when ganyu was out I firmly believe ganyu was a mistake on mihoyo part and since then I don’t think we will see a character with absolutely no caveats like her any time soon.

Well for me so long muihoyo don't do stuff like making a SSR have a kit of a r i am fine with a game
@@sav5465 that is not really a caveat, it’s not like it was imagined by mh to make her less stronger or to balance her. Every other dps has something that has to be done for them to make big dmg xiao is energy and POV managing, hu tao is pv managing, ayaka is her ult moving and being costly in energy. Ganyu has none of that you can give her a 3* bow she will remain relevant with her autos and still have her ult 100% uptime
I fully understand him, and he pretty much articulated my aversion towards Ganyu's power level.
I don't have her, but whenever I play with friends who main her they tend to one-shot most enemies and take away the fun of actually playing the game.

There will be no character like ganyu or bennet in the future, mihoyo learned that lesson. All this inazuma character are really balanced.

I actually started on genshin because of him streaming it and it looking cool and it grew into this whole obsession independent of him. I even stopped watching his content partially because I was busy with the game.
Even as someone who’s very updated about meta and plays around it, I think that having fun is most important when playing a game, so I’m glad he’s enjoying it enough to come back to it. I honestly don’t hold the same opinions as him; like others have said, ganyu is good for casuals who still want to clear content, but I also do realise that with gacha games, powercreep can suck the life out of them. At least genshin didn’t take that path, though they do have a few small issues with a few characters
It's scary this is how i felt about Ganyu. I don't wanna pull her rerun simply because Her attack is not as cool like other character, it just boring. And those slave always bringing up Ganyu everytime a DPS release. I'm not like those people who only care about damage.
It’s a really bad mindset to get into, a lot of people were complaining about Baal when she came out and compared her to Ganyu even though her kit is designed to be support, it’s ridiculous. I was originally planning to pull for her but I don’t wanna make the game too easy, and her gameplay just looks monotonous as all heck.
I thought I was the only one. PLEASEE Even my friend admitted that Ganyu's playstyle was just so bland and the reason why they still use her was because of the damages. I personally don't like One-shotting because it takes the fun out of the game, like, what am I gonna do after one-shotting every enemy ._.

I agree, her playstyle is so boring and monotonous that it is ridiculous how effective it is. It is even more infuriating when you see people always asking "Ganyu rerun when?" every time the new character can't match her DPS.
the only time I use ganyu is when I need her to kill something that counters my geo based team like the geo specters in floor 12-1-2. I only have 1 slot for to make up the counter and ganyu can do her part alone simply because she has higher damage. Still, I only use her only for counters and not for clearing contents

Ganyu is really good and make the game way easier and I really like her design but her gameplay is not for me.. Spam charge atk is a boring gameplay for me..
The fact is that when you have all R5 weapons and C6 chars the game is slightly getting boring to you as one-shooting mobs is like using cheats in monster hunter, it’s only a temporary satisfaction, not to mention 1.3 to 1.5 rlly are fillers and didn’t produce new maps which too reduces the motivation to keep playing this game.
The Zhongli buff was well-deserved. It was enough that his shield strength and Geo overall were buffed and the hold skill summoned a stone stele.
But the resistance shred, IMO, guaranteed that Zhongli basically had no weaknesses. He already had enough offensive prowess because of his 40-cost burst which has massive multipliers, low cooldown, and petrification. Now, he's both an offensive and defensive powerhouse. Ganyu would at least need support due to her weak defense.
Zhongli is just a one-man army.

I can honestly see where Kanae's coming from. I have Ganyu myself and used to main her but the amount of damage she did and she just one-shot everything in her path. To be honest I think a bit of a challenge was something I liked doing more ever since I started going for characters like Albedo and Kazuha.
@MenheraCatgirl Zhongli is still most used. Though idk what will happen after the corruption debuff abyss. Still sounds like Zhongli is useful cause you don't want to take more dmg while your hp is already being drained. Kazuha climbed high cause Venti cc wasn't effective anymore.

I mentioned power creep in Genshin Community when Ganyu was released and got bashed for it, mostly from westerners who don't know shit about what power creep actually does to the game. I was so upset back then, not because I was bashed but because of how strong Ganyu was compared to other DPS. Her raw damage of charged shot deals more damage than Childe's ult and people be thinking "this is fine" lol. I left Genshin for quite a while after that and just returned for a few weeks because Kazuha looked really good and he is good indeed. I still feel a little bitter toward Ganyu though 😂

I think genshin impact sucks as a game but I have seen how western genshin impact fans act on twitter, It's considered one of the most toxic fanbases in the west.
Oh look at the characters now. Ayaka having a 4000% multiplier burst, Eula casually dealing 200k - 500k dmg with her burst. Hu Tao's very existence, ~60k vaporized charged attacks with a strong af burst. Meanwhile Ganyu still doing charged shots. Reliable as ever but no longer the only big pp dmg dealer. Some even argue she's not the best dps as they often can't differentiate between burst dps and consistent dps. Ganyu was never at the top of burst dps. But no one comes close to her consistency.
You got "bashed" bc it literally doesn't matter in a PvE/Single player game. If you think the character is broken and makes it boring then don't use them or use some absoluye trash art or even lower it to 4* artifacts or use 3* weapons if you think having stronger charcters is boring.
Most opinions does not matter in GI bc you can literally finish Spiral Abyss 12-3 with starter characters. Anything else is just extra and for fun.

I understand Kanae's point of view, i think only mihoyo can answer to this.. about Ganyu, as a genshin player and a Ganyu main, I don't think Ganyu is the strongest character, it would be Hu Tao in my opinion.. and even if Ganyu is a strong character in genshin, i didn't pull her just because she's strong.. I admired her since before she was released in the game since i like her design and thought of wanting her as my main.. even though people call her 2nd amber or say that she might be useless when she was first introduced, I insist on wanting her cause ive been waiting for her to be playable and manage to get her on the event banner out of luck..

I actually agree though. I got Zhongli prebuff and honestly if I wasn’t on twitter I wouldn’t even know people were calling him weak and complaining. I thought his attack and shield were fine tbh. I also have ganyu and enjoy playing her, but it seems like ever since she’s come out, the focus on meta has exponentially grew. You can’t pull characters like Yoimiya or Kokomi just because you want to without being insulted by someone since they “don’t do big damage”

I can understand completely from game perspective. But I also enjoy the general lore that we are given, which explains completely why some characters are so strong.
Ganyu despite being like Xiao or Morax. Was strong from her own raw skill, having no reason to lose her strength over time. Where as Morax has never known weakness until losing most of his power, and Xiao having karma weigh him down over hundreds of years.
Knowing that you need to be as strong as Xiao to fight the demons of the war, Ganyu would need to have matched that while not having a powerup. Hence why her normal skills are equivelant to Xiao having his ultimate skill.

To be fair I used him for shield and burst mostly pre buff and had different characters for dps, I never considered him a damage dealer or worried about normal attacks (hadn't even raised those) so it was fine. Obviously the buff makes him nicer but it's like everyone's looking for one shot dps characters and not any other roles. the one significant change is the res shred which is much appreciated (and there are other ways in game to shred res but shield is easier to pop out).
Ultimately the E hold skill changes is the only think that I legit thought was absolutely necessary. I could be wrong ofc, but he's just always done what I thought he was meant to do (shield)
I’m so happy to got Ganyu! She’s my first 5 star. I’m so thankful to get her and Zhongli, I got lucky on their banner and since then, they never leave my team. I’m noob who don’t usually play this kind of game, fighting gives me stress lol I want to defeat enemies whatever their level, and Ganyu help me with that. I don’t farm artifacts because I don’t like fighting :( it stresses me out but I really love the adventure in this game.

i have Ganyu , and all I can say is that she's op. Honestly her playstyle is pretty boring and I (ik none of yall asked) actually like Qiqi more just bc of the balance. Qiqi is actually a more important component in my team since she's a healer, offense, defense, basically everything. Supports are what make the game more interesting , regarding the fact that they too are harder to replace compared to dps :]

I didn't used to mind broken supports either, but then I got a friend constantly complaining about how easy his game is while running Zhongli, Bennett and Venti on the same team so it kinda devolved from there.
And yeah, broken DPS characters... I run supports as my DPS. They're not broken but they do their jobs adequately enough for me to have fun.

Other shield characters' shield expires before their cooldown ends, which means there will *always* be a period where you will take damage by standing by the enemy. Meanwhile there's Zhongli, whose cooldown expires before his shield, meaning that you can NEVER take damage if you refresh his shield right as cooldown ends.

If he was using skyward harp on Ganyu, he'd probably get nowhere near that damage. Most of the damage here is from his Amos bow, and it's r5 too. I have a 90 Ganyu, lvl 8 charged, all 20 artis (65/210), 80/90 r1 harp and he's doing more damage than me.
I dunno man, my Ganyu is almost the same as yours except my talent is 9 but his damage is just about what I do. Still, it's crazy how much of a difference Amos bow makes.

I agree with him. I hate using “meta” characters in this game (which is part of the reason why I’m mostly an Amber and Xinyan main even though I have Venti, Klee, Mona, Baal, and Jean) mostly because they just make the game way too easy and suck the fun out. Playing with an underpowered or average character makes the game much more exciting in my opinion.

I don't understand why people immediately thought that players with Ganyu is metaslaves. Most people in 1.2 pulled Ganyu mostly because of her design, personality or voice actor (like me). They don't expect Ganyu to be broken because her kit is similar to Amber. But of course there's people who saw that Ganyu is broken after released and then decided to pull. Personally, I don't pull for Ganyu because she's meta or anything like that but in the end I'm enjoying one shot everything with her.
Yeah, that’s true. The problem is that when her rerun comes out, a lot of people who roll on it will just want her because she’s meta and not for personality, design, etc. And sometimes Ganyu mains (obviously not all of them) will act superior to others because of who they play or try to show off, which is probably what leads to people generalizing Ganyu mains as metaslaves.

Well, I love Ganyu as a character and I rolled for her but found out that she's overpowered to a point that I just actively stopped using her because the game got boring to play. I'd rather she be properly balanced so that I can feel satisfied using a character I love without having to actively cripple my own artifact just to attempt to balance her.

I could agree with Kanae and happy that he stopped playing Genshin since the community is the one who ruined it... He stopped back during Ganyu's banner and every Genshin stream after that was because he was sponsored. They think that high stats Ganyu will make all the people to be happy with it which is why they released it like that. It is fun at first but soon you'll get bored of it like playing afk game, you'll just check it out then after doing dailies you'll log out and wait until your resin reach their cap... Which became a daily task instead of playing it for fun... It is unlikely miHoyo will nerf characters since they are CN company, they do Buffs but Nerf is rare thing to do based on CN business taboo. So expect more and more broken characters will come since every meta player like big numbers poping up on their screens and getting bored later on and wait for new broken ones to play with.
@@aoihitori i think that has more to do with the content drought about the game getting boring overtime cause imo the overworld is too easy u can one shot literally anything with any character even ur free 4 star Xiangling at c0 and
But i still agree tho that Ganyu just makes the game a joke especially for whales not only in overworld but in spiral abyss too, it makes spiral abyss not a challenge anymore it's a joke with that character.
And i feel like now mihiyo is releasing characters that are just hit or miss, Ayaka was awesome and really balanced, then Yoimiya being weaker than ur free Xiangling, then an electro archon that is decent but doesn't work with its own electro teammates i feel like they did a great job designing but fails miserably in gameplay.
i really do hope that they have a way around this balancing issue especially with dendro being the only element left that is unreleased, while releasing a new type of endgame content. everything genshin now just feels like a chore if u are AR57 or already completed all the content.
