Beautiful playing. I haven't heard much gospel guitar as I am not a man of faith. What I did hear as a kid when I was made to go to church, the guitar was reduced to an instrument with way too much chorus that played triads almost exclusively. What you gentlemen were playing in this video was beautiful and very jazzy. Kudos to you for finding something to believe in as well!

Basically we know that gospel and Blues with country ballads are the roots... and sister Rosetta Stone is the mother of rock and roll that came out of church.

Wow, I actually thinking of quitting Gospel to try Country or Carolina Beach. I've been doing Gospel since 1970. Time for something else.
I love watching Educated hands. I recently was in concert with Thomas Rhyant . His playing is other worldly.
This reminds me My Brothers ,Cousins and myself would get together on a Saturday Morning. We didn't stop until saturday night.
50+ years, that's dedication! It's clear you love music and that's what matters most. I completely get that! Musical exploration is so important, and if you're feeling the pull towards Country or Beach music, go for it! who knows, maybe you'll bring some of that back into your new sound! I've had someone try to slam my hands in a Piano Fallboard (of a Fellowship Hall) in a Church, never had that happen in a bar.

I totally get that! Clean playing takes a different kind of focus. it's all about building that muscle memory and getting comfortable. You'll be surprised how quickly it starts to click.

That's a great question! It's a bit of both, honestly. For me, the core of it is that message of faith and salvation. It's about expressing gratitude and celebrating salvation through music.
