This is my fear with Wemby. I hope he doesn’t settle on being some 7’4 perimeter player. This is why he needs to stay in the weight room. KAT just doesn’t have a killer mentality and the will to mix it up in the paint. Dirk as good as he could shoot, would post you up and mix it up. Especially if he was being guarded by a much shorter player. It’s just easier to shoot jumpers, than deal with the physicality. Once Embiid stopped that shooting jumpers all game BS, he started having MVP caliber seasons.

No it’s not a garbage take. Anyone can be slowed down. You can never stop a great offensive player, but you can make it more difficult. Minnesota is not being physical, like Dort was with Luka. Sure Luka scored, but he had moments where he was being slowed down. Same for Kyrie. OKC played them better, which is why it came down to the wire in Game 7.
Whereas Dallas is running thru Minnesota like a play-in team and might possible sweep them. If OKC had a physical, mobile big like Gafford, they would have beat Dallas. Chet is too light in the azz. OKC needs to focus on getting an energetic, mobile big. Because they will have to deal with Denver, Minnesota or Dallas at some point in the postseason. Chet is skilled, but not strong enough.

Yes, Kyrie was exactly what the Mavericks needed. We have a couple more years with him on the team and I just think he has that killer instinct, and a big brother attitude to the younger players that is needed late in the season when your legs are tired, and every game is very tough. I just can’t say enough this is very rare and Mavericks fans need to understand to have this Caliber of players in the back court let alone two players who get along very well and never let their egos get in the way can lead to very good places for the Mavericks organization.

Minnesota gets to a point in games where they stop playing smart. They start hoisting three-pointers at the most inopportune times. I’m surprised the games have been this close. If it’s close, there’s nothing you can do about Kyrie and Luka. It’s crazy having the two best closers in the game on the same team. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this in my 58 years.
