The log splitter works amazingly! What did you do without it? The girls going out exploring in the woods with their compass, water, knife and the coonskin hats are too cute for words ☺️☺️💕💕 And girls after my own heart 💜
Growing up here in Western Ny state on days we got frost overnight, we always went out, before the sun hit our garden and sprayed it with water to remove the frost and frozen places. The "burning " and wilting happens when the sun hits the frost and frozen parts. We found that by spraying them the damage was minimal
Boy, did this video bring back memories from my childhood. I had a coonskin cap when I was young. I wore it all the time. I don’t know how many times my mom sewed that tail back on, but it was a lot. It got so threadbare, or should I say fur bare, that it looked like it had mange. I loved that thing so much. Your garden looks so good. Y’all are gonna have plenty of carrots. I love all the animals & how y’all interact & talk to them all. 🎄🎁Wishing y’all a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!🎁 Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I didn't know y'all were supplying a restaurant but it doesn't surprise me y'all seem to have a great work ethic and love for farm to fork. ( Even if it's all for personal use it's still farm to fork) God bless Shalom
The girls ready for a hike are so cute! I love having Brooke in the videos. She is so fun and a great partner in the farm work. Thanks for a delightful video. Hugs❤️
Yu'all's are the best...l am 80 years old now and l truly love watching you's videos....You's Huuuuu l guess that will work.....Thanks b to yu'all...Youuser
You have the best channel on youtube! Down to earth, funny, loving, giving, authentic and love your family! I always watch your channel first. Loved the podcast with you and Brooke. Peace and love 💘
We have a sod farm right next to our property. I never thought to ask them if they would sell us their off stuff. Its literally just sitting there in the field. I will ask them next time I see them out. Thanks for the tip!
Glad that your garden was not badly damaged. I also like carrot slaw, a refreshing salad. Mary Carl and Piper are such sweet girls. Thanks for a great video. We’re supposed to have snow on Wed. Take care and be well!
The girls with the coon hats 😆 You might be able to either see if you can order online from Walmart or if local walmart is friendly you could ask if they have any in back they MIGHT look for you. Have a good evening ❄❄❄
My daddy believed in zoysia grass. WOW! He’s been gone 11 years. I’ve not heard that word in years and years. The minute you said it, it brought memories. Thanks!
Those Collards will be delicious 😋 now that the Frost has touched them much sweeter I always wait too buy them until Frost those Scallions looks good a very healthy garden 👌🎄❤️Girls are precious 🎄
For Nugget: Try the black water tub again. Maybe with the pool gone, he'll ho for it. Or put something in the bottom so he can perceive the depth. Flat stones, or paint the bottom a lighter colour.r. love you folks and the blog was real good.
And spiders. We found out the hard way one year. Couldn't figure out why there were so many Black Widows in the house. Next year the firewood was stacked out in the yard.
🤗 Good morning. You have a busy day ahead of you. It's nice your garden lasted. 🥗 It looks like you have a beautiful day for farming. Enjoy your day. 👏👏 Thank you and God bless you and the family. 🙏☝️🎄🎄
Mr and mrs cog hill are the best couple I have seen in all u tube ' I have learnt a lot from u I admire u both be blessed God bless u both for the way u give positive insights
😘😘. Saturday’s just don’t feel complete without your video. Now that Mrs is helping out in the garden and asking questions it’s more fun don’t ya think 🤔 She works hard all the time I know but she always is eager to hear your explanations just like we all are. The garden still looks great and broccoli should bounce back since it doesn’t always freeze there. I grow mine with cabbage and a little freeze makes them taste better. This may seem odd but before sun gets on them hit those tender plants with water and they won’t mush up badly. Been doing that for years and as usual found an elder farmer man to bless with his longtime knowledge. Hey when advice comes from someone like elders ya got to feel blessed and continue to pass it on. My brother and I as kids wore coon skin caps and chased our sisters till we were scolded and they cried. Found just the tail in a scrap of the hat when going through his things after he passed suddenly. Guess those tails last forever but did bring memories of good simple times. Is that real wood siding on your house? If so may I share advice from someone who made same mistake and then it was too late. Put something metal or some blocks against the house near the wood to prevent termite damage later on. They’ll get under the panel into the house looking to gnaw on something. If ya tap on the panel and black soot comes out then they are already there. Time for pest control. Ya might spray the wood pile with a killer just to be safe as well. Just an elder passing it on down. Thanks again for a great video and do love the podcasts with ya both. We all love to learn and to share in this great family you’ve created 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just as a point , horses also pick a certain place in their pasture and their stall to use to soil. I sure did appreciate that when it came to clean stalls and cleaning the outside. It can " pile up " fast when there are 5-6 horses around. 🙂🐎
I always enjoy your channel and wish there was more to watch. But I know you all work so very hard filming all of your goin on’s and I totally appreciate all of you. Thankyou so much ALOHA🌺🎄
Hey Yall, Why not find local sawmill with all your trees, make a with them to take some of your trees as payment to clear more land and get what you want, do a tree selection out of what to give and keep
Such a nice homestead. Love your variety of birds and garden. Love carrot salad too with a pinch of brown sugar.Alternate raisins or pineapple with the grated carrots! Stay safe.
Hey Cog Hill Family, I'm Mac & I watch ya'll all the time, Nugget & Peaches crack me up! Ya'll are hilarious and keep me laughing throughout your whole vlogs! Anyway, could you possibly guide me to the place that you bought your rubber wedding rings from? My husband and I never wear ours unless we go out, so I would like to have the ones that you wear that I have seen and heard about being so light and comfortable and I couldn't ever find them. I just saw ya'll with them on today! I Love Your Vlogs! Thank You, Your Fan From Texas, Mac 🐖🦘🐐🦢🐓🎄🎁🎅☃️ (The thumbnail picture is my son Aaron, who passed away from an illness! It's not me, I just thought you should know, you can go see me with my name.)
Really enjoy watching your videos! Love how you've named all the pets. Nugget and Peaches are great ambassadors for your channel. Mary Carl is amazing too! So appreciate her knowledge of the birds.
I live in Lower Alabama, south of Ashford. My lettuce did not show any effects from the frost. My broccoli was set back a little but is now recovering. My winter cabbage (planted first) was affected the most by the frost to my surprise. But I think most of it will recover. You just have to keep trying as you well know. I hope to plant peas in mid January. Keep up the good work. You are a good example to us all.
Darn she looks great with that hat😉 Another thing to listen to, I'm already behind on videos, and I don't watch tv, there are not enough hours in the day!!! First I need to cut out my sad lemon, once I bring them indoors the drop leaves and, oh yeah sometimes die on me, not giving up! I want lemons some say!!!!😁
If you are not watching the podcast it is as much fun as this channel. I just found the podcast and am going back to see the old ones. I watched 2019 lol
Farm is beautiful yeah you care to be beautiful I like carrots in the salads my favorite is the mix salad with dandelion leaves flowers spinach banana pebbles and grapes
they say b4 the sun hits the veggies after being hit by frost to get the hose and lightly spray it with water and warm it up b4 the sun shines on it. That's what they do to the citrus trees in Florida. And it works for them.
Mrs cog your so funny with your cool hat n one trouser leg tucked in your boot I'm sorry I giggle hard but love watching you both did you kill Santa with only his legs in air on decking lol love both stay safe from uk
My broccoli with florets has gone through a couple of freezes. We covered them with a tarp at nights and they are doing great. If you have another freeze coming, you might want to consider covering them since it seems to have worked on mine.
I think as long as the roots don't freeze then the plant will be okay and send out new shoots... You could always get some fleece [that's what we call it in the UK] and drape it over the rows...That should work....
Be mindful about stacking your firewood up against your house. We had to rebuild a whole wall in our house one year because of termites. Was almost a year before we noticed them. Love your channel and the podcast. 🦃🦃🐔🐔🐐🐐🐖🐖🐑🐏🐖🐄🐂🐮
They lay Sod all the time why wouldn't scraps work, it looks Great 🙌💥🐦. What in the world, it looks like Cantlope backed Himself into that Plant! Drrrdrrdrrr what's Nuggy gonna do😱without His Purple paradise. Have you tried watering the Frost Off? I'm so pleased your Garden made it. JO JO IN VT 💕😄
The grass does look great. The zoysia grass would probably hold up well to any animals that get on it too. My garden is pretty much done for the year. Planning for next year has begun. Cog Coon Cap Co. coming to a store near you 🤣. Y’all take care.
My name is Hank I am 11 years old and I One Day want to be a farmer just like you.😁

Mary Carl’s little friend has gorgeous hair. My favorite color!
Yes, they look so cute in their Coon-Skin Caps - so does Mom!

Love watching you all the way from South Australia.
Me too Sue🇦🇺 Go the South Aussies😂
Alway enjoy viewing the shows. The collards enjoy some nights of freezing weather.
Yes, I’ve heard don’t cut them until after the first freeze. It makes them taste sweeter.
@Ron How are you doing
Hope we get to know each other with time and patience?
Mary Carl & her friend are the cutest... love MC’s laugh! 😂
Big tip from a cold country gardener - if you get a frost and can water those plants BEFORE the sun hits them you'll save them.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The girls ready for a hike are so cute! I love having Brooke in the videos. She is so fun and a great partner in the farm work. Thanks for a delightful video. Hugs❤️

Just recently found your channel. I was born and raised on a farm. This brings back so many memories when I was a kid. Over 50 years ago thank you.
It’s 7:30 pm here in the southwest of Sweden and it’s “warmer” , 41°f 🤣😂
Omgosh, that girls beautiful red hair shinin in the sun🥰

Strange? No! Peaches is one tuned in, tapped in, and turned on to cleanliness - gal 👌
Gotta find a purple pool for Nugget!😁 Cuz you know purple is his favorite color.I love your podcasts ❤️
Glad that your garden was not badly damaged. I also like carrot slaw, a refreshing salad. Mary Carl and Piper are such sweet girls. Thanks for a great video. We’re supposed to have snow on Wed. Take care and be well!
This I my one and only channel I love everything about coghill and all animals and how much they are loved god bless you all.
You're honest and neighborly way of life is refreshing! I smile and chuckle watching.
The girls with the coon hats 😆
You might be able to either see if you can order online from Walmart or if local walmart is friendly you could ask if they have any in back they MIGHT look for you.
Have a good evening ❄❄❄
Love y’all! The cutest power couple ever!
How wonderful can you get?? Wonderful parents to Mary Carl for sure.
My daddy believed in zoysia grass. WOW! He’s been gone 11 years. I’ve not heard that word in years and years. The minute you said it, it brought memories. Thanks!

Ya'll are so much fun to watch! I have thoroughly enjoyed both so far! Can't wait for the next one.💞
I love the podcast! I was floored when you said you had no interest in gardens and liked living in the city.
You're going to get termites stacking firewood next to the house.
And spiders. We found out the hard way one year. Couldn't figure out why there were so many Black Widows in the house. Next year the firewood was stacked out in the yard.
if you make homemade wine in your cellar, I think that will keep spiders away. never saw any bugs down there..
Peppermint oil is supposed to keep spiders & some other bugs away. Apparently, they don’t like the smell.
homemade wine is better
🤗 Good morning.
You have a busy day ahead of you.
It's nice your garden lasted. 🥗
It looks like you have a beautiful day for farming. Enjoy your day. 👏👏
Thank you and God bless you and the family. 🙏☝️🎄🎄

I love your sleepy goose!! How funny! 😉👍
😊👍👍 MC’s friend reminded me of Elizabeth on the Waltons. Y’all take care and God bless ✌️
Our English peas survive 3 snows in Alaska. People are always amazed. The lettuce at my child's house in Tennessee survives all winter long.
I think it's a hoot that the turkey hen followed you all through this episode.
I wish i can let my Kune Kune roam like peaches. Maybe soon. Nugget cracks me up
Just as a point , horses also pick a certain place in their pasture and their stall to use to soil. I sure did appreciate that when it came to clean stalls and cleaning the outside. It can " pile up " fast when there are 5-6 horses around. 🙂🐎

Love seeing Brooke and your dynamic, and she's looking so fit! Good work

Deep South Homestead put Dr Earth on his peas and Danny said they grew better.
Came here to have a better day. Waiting for todays upload. ❤️
Yes! I want a Davy Crockett hat. It was my prize possession when I was about 9. That would be 63 years ago.
Hi....... Jason and Martha nice to see you, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🦃🐖🐕🐈🌱🐐🎥👍👍👍
I think Nugget is a Tiger Fan! Loves that Purple
Carrot and raisin salad with raisins sounds grrreat
I see them pools on Amazon even now. You’ll have no problem finding one. 😊
You need to use WD40 on the door hinges, no squeak. Your family make's me smile. Thank you
Check your local Walmart(s) for wading pools. I’ve seen them for 2.00 to 5.00!! Pls find out how Piper’s Henri is doing 😍
Henri is doing great!!!!😊👍
Hello young ladies. Take whistles and compact mirrors on your hike.

To those 5 people who gave a thumbs down, do you not enjoy pure entertainment?
You have so many nice features and details to your farm, but i love your wash station so much!!!

Love watching you two, so refreshing 😍 love the hats too, I remember my brother and I had one too. Love the memories. Have a blessed week.
you can cover plants with a light weight sheet to protect from frost.
Need miniture hoop houses over your plants, or just cover during frost, then uncover after the frost desapates (-:
Farm is beautiful yeah you care to be beautiful I like carrots in the salads my favorite is the mix salad with dandelion leaves flowers spinach banana pebbles and grapes
I know I listen to it last night it helped me relax and I went to sleep thank you for doing it cuz sometimes my eyes don't let me see like I should
LOVE THE HATS. SWAMP HUGS FROM LOUISIANA.
they say b4 the sun hits the veggies after being hit by frost to get the hose and lightly spray it with water and warm it up b4 the sun shines on it.

Watched the last 2 podcast-you’re doing a great job. Question for you-how did you come by the name Cog Hill?
I believed is the name of the street .
My broccoli with florets has gone through a couple of freezes. We covered them with a tarp at nights and they are doing great. If you have another freeze coming, you might want to consider covering them since it seems to have worked on mine.
Laughed so I hard at the end 😂😂😂 Davy Crocket cuteness 😆😆😆
I know some types of greens get sweeter from the frost, those are the kind we plant for deer food 😉
I think as long as the roots don't freeze then the plant will be okay and send out new shoots... You could always get some fleece [that's what we call it in the UK] and drape it over the rows...That should work....

Love the name of your podcast channel. So clever, kind of rolls of your tongue 👅
Dry your pea greens after you harvest and feed the dried greens to your goats. They love dried pea greens.
Just watched for the first time today. Won’t be my last. Very good video...

We have gone from 70 degrees to 42 for the high and lots of rain. I covered my brassicas when we got down to the teens. Like the podcast.
Congratulations 🎉
The grass does look great. The zoysia grass would probably hold up well to any animals that get on it too. My garden is pretty much done for the year. Planning for next year has begun. Cog Coon Cap Co. coming to a store near you 🤣. Y’all take care.
