Thanks Paul 🎉. Thanks to you I moved some years ago to Bricks. Best thing so far was always the dynamic data part. And now the filtering even with custom fields is pretty pretty awesome. Les plugins to install and more control how to do it by yourself 🎉
A better implementation of JetEngine would be a dream. ACF and Metabox are much better supported. JetEngine offers more in my opinion. Above all, an integration of JetEngine's CCTs (Custom Content Types) would be a killer feature. Finally, cleanly structured data would not only be much easier to handle, but would also have a significantly positive effect on performance and thus also enable larger projects.
True. At the very least, WordPress has essentially nulled the pro version of ACF via its “Secure Custom Fields”, so if you want ACF Pro, it’s free now. On the JetEngine front, I wish it wasn’t so bloated/hacky feeling. It does bring a lot to the table but JetEngine itself feels poorly implemented in a lot of areas as a result of biting off more than it can chew with its massive suite of bloat plugins. I also think it slows the site down. I’ve not seen that from ACF, but JetEngine does. I also hate what JetEngine does the to the WordPress dashboard with its annoying WP admin inserts all over the top level menu. I loved the lifetime deal or JetEngine when I bought it, but now it feels more like a life sentence. The WP Engine controversy saved me by giving us Secure Custom Fields “Pro” for free, though.
paul do you have a bricks 101 course that covers bricks blueprints etc as im considering making bricks sites for clients now... I think the time has come ...
Not a course, but a playlist of the key features in Bricks you need to get to grips withL ua-cam.com/play/PLTbrc9HXDstpOg55YJ4TWFKV31JZch4mY.html I also have videos covering my blueprint, full site builds, and more on the UA-cam channel or head over to the Learn Bricks Builder dot com website.
I'm slowly learning bricks. I'm also slowly starting new projects on it. Unfortunately, I have to leave some of them on Elementor, so I'm still torn :) I'm impatiently waiting for v2 bricks. I wonder how much it will change. The ideal would be to combine it with Advanced Themer.
While probably not part of v2 initially, I do hope they get inspired by Etch. Being able to manage content and f.ex. create custom post types from within the builder would be amazing!
The approach Bricks seems to take is to build out in phases. Since JetEngine is supported by Bricks in general, my guess is that they would add in future update. You could ask the Bricks team in the Bricks Forum.
As a beginner working with Bricks Builder I know I have made the right choice, but man, it is still overwhelming all the things you have to know, sometimes, until it is pointed out, you don't even know what you don't know........
In my opinion, we need to limit the role of the site builder within the site builder. The point is that modern AI allows you to do unimaginable things with the help of code. For example, I came to this in Bricks, that it is easier and better to make lists programmatically. We need to develop this side, making Bricks more convenient for realizing ideas using code.
Thanks, Paul. Good summary.
Glad it was helpful!
Thomas is killing it with Bricks. Once he completes bricks, we need ThomasPress! :D
Or Bricks standalone without the need for WP at all - now that would be nice! :)
@@WPTuts Yes, like Brizy Cloud.
Bricks builder is like several light years ahead of Elementor. Best page builder out there!
Thanks for the walk-through, Paulie! Cheers!
No worries!
Nice,, i hope you always create video in every bricks update,,
very important for me because i rarely open the guide,,

Bricks is growing into a very acomplished builder that doesn't constantly rely on 3rd party plugins to build more feature rich websites. :)
@@WPTuts Well said, because that is becoming quite annoying, especially when each plugin requires a paid license.

Short and concise.
Nice thank you!
Any time!
Still waiting for multi select and multi delete
The Masory feature is awesome ... Perfect timing, I just needed it for a project.

I don't think v2 will change much. I think the number one feature it will add to the existing toolset is the components feature.
While probably not part of v2 initially, I do hope they get inspired by Etch. Being able to manage content and f.ex. create custom post types from within the builder would be amazing!
This is great, thanks! Just curious is it only acf/meta box or also other tools like jetengine that can be used as filters?

@@gurjeetsinghwalia sorry, not my area of expertise. Check out Imran’s recent video.
I wait - 1) components 2) nested form
Components beta has been touted for release before the end of the year.
@@WPTuts That's awesome
I hope they will have a good offer for black friday
I'm 99% sure there won't be any BF discounts.
