Oh my gosh. They have the whole original cast from the first one. Can't wait to watch it. The fact that he propsed on accident makes this even more intriguing. Like a comedy of errors. Very Shakespearean. Love it
Primarily, I'm Black American (via culture & location); Secondarily, I am African via lineage; and it's movies such as this that bring pride to my African self.. Ok, wedding party 2, we have one more wedding party to do where the last two friends get married, please come out with wedding party 3, I am enjoying it all, I'm African American, live in the United States and when I saw the first wedding party, I have been watching African movies and I love them, part of my African culture I never knew about, I'm loving it, again please producers come out with the third wedding, the last of the friends👌👌👌

I mean I am obviously excited about the sequel to this blockbuster movie, and I am so proud of the continuous growth and success of the Nigerian film industry and the African entertainment industry as a whole. However, for me the sad aspect about this movie is that in a black dominated industry, we should be promoting and prioritising black or African love (love between two black people). I mean the first movie for me was fine because she was just a bridesmaid. Now this sequel is elevating the character, what I mean is this is sending a disastrous and dangerous message to black people particularly black women across the world. As it is reinforcing a stereotype that white/Caucasian people will always get the best of everything and this has extended to relationships. Because in this movie, she gets to have Nonso- the smart and responsible one who was never a player and wealthy first son who is set to takeover the family business. why is it so? Why not the other bridesmaid, Somkele iyammah's character? Why does she have to get the other best man, who is an unapologetic womaniser willing to replace Dozie as the King of womanisers. See this image alone is disturbing. I mean I understand living in Nigeria or anywhere on the African continent, racism is not a priority because we are all black people living together- which is a blessing, However, this issue must be addressed, I understand a lot of people might disagree with me and call me a downer or kill joy. But when watching any movie we must observe hidden messages or agenda that they seek to promote. Like I wrote earlier the producers of the movie may not have seen it as a big deal, since we are all about promoting "love is love" no matter your race or whatever. As black people living together on the continent, the effect of interracial relationships is not really being understood in Africa as compared to the western world. My point is this is a black dominated film industry and black people, we must learn to love ourselves and stop putting ourselves done, cause the character of Deirdre the English bride, should have been Black Caribbean or from any other African country so that we can strengthen intro racial relations amongst Afro-people worldwide, because film is a powerful tool to foster unity and bring us(Afro-people) closer together. As black people these things should just not be taking lightly as the media is a powerful tool to create, reinforce, elevate or destroy attitudes about different groups of people. PLEASE LET US WAKE UP AND SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE. Excited about the movie though!🙂
Afrimedia Excuse me? What is all this name calling for? I was just trying to make a valid point as to why black people are not progressing and why every other race sees us as inferior. Or are you one of people who wish white people were colonising us again, minus the beating of course. How dare you insult me? If I should call you an ignorant, unenlightened, self-hating person, would you like that? You have no right to verbally abuse me, this is an online forum and if you disagree with what I am saying, then let us have a productive intellectual conversation. The fact that you automatically decided to insult me only reaffirms you are so clueless and empty- headed, as you clearly have no idea of the nature of the racial war that exists today. Let me enlighten and clarify my argument since you are wilfully ignorant and may not understand what I was trying to say. You said it yourself- black people are risking their life to go to Europe to go seek a better life. What you don't know is that as black people living in the west we are constantly and systematically being treated like inferiors, meaning we experience systemic racism in all areas of our lives. We are less likely than any other race to get the best jobs, best schools, houses and constantly being put down mentally in all areas of our lives. Since you probably don't live in the west you may not understand It. Now the extent of this inferior position we are in has now taking a new dimension, as a growing majority of black men no longer find black women attractive enough to date not even marry. And you think this is normal, as this has successfully caused further division within our race and limited our rise to superiority. Is your unenlightened and empty-headed self getting the picture now? I don't think so let me educate you further on these racial issues. What this has to do with Nollywood and the Wedding Party is by casting a white/Caucasian actress as the bride in a BLACK DOMINATED INDUSTRY, in our own soil , were if this was Europe or any western country, who unlike us black people do not have self-hate issues, they would prioritise and cast their own people in movies 95% of the time. Why? Because of the power of media images , as white people are watching themselves 95% of the time so black people must watch themselves well 99% of the time playing. Simply because our colonial history has affected us so badly that is the reason why skin lightening creams, weave-ons are so prevalent in our society that is not allowing us to fully rise as showcase our black power. The point you made about weaves is validating my point, how are you so proud and happy about the fact that black women are wearing weaves, that is a major step backwards. Cause now we want to be them, and you expect them to respect us, people like you are the reason why our will continue to be disrespected, ridiculed and scorned by every other race. And haven't you heard of natural hair, cornrows, braids, these hairstyles showcase our beauty as black women. Weaves represent the fact that we are fake, wannabes and that is just disturbing and sad! Cause what your myopic, ignorant self maybe has not realised that our society has not fully recovered from the effects of white supremacy and we need to a launch rigorous campaign to reinforce black supremacy, our values and culture and make a bold statement to the world that black people are not inferior. And one major example of achieving this is for film, music, television- the media in Africa to portray as loving ourselves being in positions of power and not trying to copy white people or beg for acceptance from them cause it is just pathetic. If we don't embark on the journey of self-love, self-worth and learn to go back to our roots and seek traditional ways of developing our continent,w e are doomed to be a eternal servants to white people and now with China exploiting this situation. How do u expect us to rise? So be informed, and understand what you are saying before spewing nonsense and ignorance out of you mouth. The next time you verbally abuse me, I would not be this patient or this kind and will be forced to report you. At least for the sake of our future generations, or else they will grow up being treated as undesirables and this bloody cycle never ends. GET ENLIGHTENED , ,
Afrimedia My words are few. I dont waste precious energy on the likes of you. I hope one day you and majority of black people will wake up and be enlightened and realise the ernomous, inner power we possess. Cause we are asleep now, and are dormant. Until we wake up, i am afraid as a race we will not take our rightful place as gods and goddesses. Thus the white rule continues. A word to the wise is enough. Peace ✌🏿
Chloe Kufuor Your level of racism is so ridiculous.... Like WTF were you thinking writing that??.... You actually sat down to type this rubbish.....you were fine with the first part cos "she was just the bridesmaid"...you should be highly ashamed of yourself.... A proud African shouldn't be scared of the type of picture a Back person marrying a Caucasian will paint, cos we know our worth and can hold our own, it's people with lack of confidence and low esteem issues that worry about these senseless things.... Imagine if it was the other way round, a Caucasian saying he/she isn't comfortable with an black person playing a prominent role in a White drama, all hell would let lose, don't dish out what you can't take ... Please don't be unfortunate, when the movie comes out ehn... DON'T WATCH IT... IT'S NOT BY FORCE.... Rubbish
Chloe Kufuor lol... I'm so mad right now I would actually waste a good flute of white wine on your face, you're not even Nigerian.... And you're here making noise about interracial love, when y'all have mixed babies (who I don't even have an issue with) running around your streets...... Trying to sound all educated and sophisticated, girl if you don't go and get that bitterness out of your soul...... If you personally are not progressing don't blame it on the Caucasians, please, they are not the cause of your many woes and misfortunes.... Like.... Telling a right thinking person to enlighten herself when you're the one in the dark, the world moved on years ago, guess some fake-woke social media people like yourself ddnt get the memo.... Obviously
OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. just wanted the first part and wished they did a second, wanna know what happened to the mixed couple. YESSSSSS so watching this, just made my day.
Please bring out part 3, where shola the wedding destroyer and yemisi got married but a white ex girlfriend will come to destroy it. Let him know how painful it is. 😁😁
