Awesome footage. I wrote a book about hunting bobcats. (Bobcat Dog David Peightal). I talk about the bobcats almost obsessive interest in beaver activity. If there are bobcats in the area and beaver activity, the bobcat WILL show up habitually. I have never seen any evidence of a beaver ever being caught by a bobcat. I was hoping to see it here maybe. But instead I think I am seeing a bobcat that is not quite sure he really wants to tangle with a beaver. I’m pretty sure he could have caught it, and would have if it had been a rabbit. They catch rabbits almost daily, and a rabbit is much faster than a short legged, lumbering beaver. People have died from beaver injuries. I can only imagine a bobcat knows he could have a similar fate. Beaver grow their whole life. They have been recorded at 100 pounds, although 70 would be a typical maximum. A beaver can easily be twice the weight of a bobcat, and they will fight if they have to.

You can see a huge difference in the build, not to mention the teeth. It's like a miniature rodent hippo.

in the summer there are several bobcats that frequent the beaver dams on my property….the bobcats would love to take a beaver….however, they look more for small ones and other rodents (muskrat, mice, etc.) smaller ones that frequent these magnificent ecosystems that are beaver ponds. In my videos, bobcats sometimes like to eat frogs!

Wow! I've seen videos of animals running away and videos of one stalking but rarely do I ever see both in one clip! Usually, you can only guess at the animal causing the behavior of the one in your clip.
