On many flatforms a lot had been said on this event, participants were overrun by drundards with their backward show off attitudes, personal items were stolen in game venues. unfortunate death of an athlete due to lack of medecine in hospital. luggage n bags were missing on the way to the airport by a local transporter and so and so...what a shame
For the records, the person who died in the car accident was not an athlete of any contigent. He worked as a pilot in PNG and was only there to meet his brother, who is the doctor for the Cook Islands team. The unfortunate incident for which we are deeply sorry, did not occur during the games as you have mentioned. It was after the games. The fact that the deceased went out drinking around town in a car was his personal decision and responsibility, not the decision of the Solomon Islands government or the Games Hosting Authority. So you need to get your facts right. If you are frustrated because you didn't win any medals, then that's your own problem. Best of luck next time.
