      Same! I've been watching videos on this case and they mainly talk about Karen. Laura is the one who became a part of their friend group later on and was the one who actually drowned Missy - I want to know more about her and why!

    • @LukeLFN
      @LukeLFN 2 роки тому +12

      @@noramerritt9257 After reading more into this, it seems that some are saying Laura had Missy by the shoulders/head and Karen held her feet while in the creek...
      Hard to believe that Karen just "walked back to the car" while her "friend" was being drowned...
      Karen also had multiple boys attack her boyfriend after blaming him for the murder and watched them beat on him while yelling for them to "finish him off" for what he did to her.
      Am I the only one thinking that Karen planned all of this and manipulated Laura into this? Don't get me wrong, Laura definitely knew what she was doing, but I think Karen is much sicker and twisted than it seems and she is a master manipulator.

    I think if she's visiting schools with the intention of being like, 'I was a bully, I ended up in jail because my actions caused someone to lose their life' then that could be a positive thing. We had a similar thing at my school where women that had been to jail visited us and told us their stories and it was very eye opening. I'm not sure I agree with publishing books though, unless she intented to donate the money to charity but she shouldn't be making profit from it.

    This video is so tastefully and respectfully done. This case bothers me so much. I was actually watching this case on Unusual Suspects on ID Channel one day before work and couldn’t finish the episode because I had to leave. Today, Death of a cheerleader came on LMN and I started researching that case. Found out that Deadly Women featured it. Pulled it up and in the same episode, this case was featured. And that’s what led me here. It’s so sad and haunting and really just bothers me. I’m sick to my stomach at Karen’s smugness in recent photos and during her trial. She looks purely evil. I agree ppl can change, but to want to profit off of destroying a mom by murdering her child, and continuing to play the victim, there’s no way she has changed. So sad.

She went into a rage at the thought Missy was distancing herself from Karen. But the family is now saying they heard Karen threaten Missy and was like a stalker but we've always been told the family had no idea it could be Karen and Police had no leads for 3 years. The family says they knew Karen was threatening to kill Missy and Karen moved into the family home after the murder??? Anyone want to explain this to make sense? The fact they chopped off pieces of her hair pretty much symbolizes how they felt towards her wanted her to feel what they felt inside making her ugly in their eyes and hurting her . Karen is not a normal person she was never her friend she was obsessed, possessive and definitely wanted to be Missy . The only problem was she knew deep down she couldn’t ever replace her so second best option was to take her place. How can you watch someone you say you cared for get murdered and act as if you know nothing. Just like the other girl even in their picture from court you can see they have no remorse and loved the attention they wanted . They should still be in prison and it’s a shame they’re not. Karen is horrible for even playing any kind of victim when she was the bully and needs more attention what better way then to again put yourself in the story and make your own versions of what happened. Psycho woman . It sucks no one saw this toxic friendship sooner and got her out of it . I’m glad they sued her for the book she doesn’t deserve anything with Missy in it. She wanted to act as if she was the daughter but also was sick enough to frame her art if you will of missy like a trophy or be mesmerized by how she wanted to be seen. May they get karma for what they’ve done.

      But why in the united states? I read about this case some years about a highschool footballer who had plans to go to military school along with his girlfriend, anyway he ended up having sex with a cheerleader onboard of the bus while going home after an away match. He confessed to his girlfriend, she forgave him to begin with, but after a couple of days/weeks she demanded that he should kill the cheerleader otherwise she would dump him. And he turned out to be enough of a pussy to go along with it, so he took his car and drove off to pick her up so they could talk about the sex thing, she went inside the car having no idea that his girlfriend was hiding in the backseat with a club or something. She got knocked out and was taken to this forest by a lake were she was shot twice in the head. The couple graduated and went off to military school and everything was peachy until the girlfriend confessed the whole thing during a game of truth or dare. Why does some of the worse things happen in the usa? Clown serial killers, Natural Selection school shootings and Massage parlour mass shootings?

      I find it odd that there is nothing about this or what’s up with Laura. But I guess Laura isn’t trying to bring attention to herself like Karen (who still seems desperate attention). And I guess there’s nothing about Karen’s baby for the purpose of protecting her baby.

    I think if a person murders while they're drunk, or on drugs, or under the influence of an outside source, they can change. But I think someone who murders out of jealousy or because they were angry, or something trivial, they were just looking for a reason and I don't believe they can change. I'm sure it's not quite as black and white as that, but that's my opinion.

  • @melbell414

    In terms of whether she changed or not: It seems like she has good intentions however, her narcissistic traits and seemingly underlying childhood issues (needing validation, wanting that acceptance from a family dynamic, etc...) prevent her from truly changing. So no I don't think she has "truly" changed. Glad you had a nice break! 😊💜

My mom was older so when missy was killed I was 4 and when Karen finally was arrested i was 7. When she was arrested i told my mom "i know she did.". No way Karen was not the one who put the log 100 lb on Missy neck. That is known for sure. Shes not remorseful. My mom tried to go to the parole hearing but due to an illness in the family she could not. Mom wanted to keep her in prison that says something after so mamy years. I think it haunted my mom that she had Karen around so much . Mom always knew Karen did it but never admited it. Thank you so mich for finally doing this case. It wasnt too long ago I asked. Had my mom watch. She said good job. Lots of things ate insuder things its hard with karens lies. My mom was there at karens the night they killed missy. Karen and eva had lived together for 2 days. Eva moved in on the 1st and the next day when it happened they got into a fight. My mom was tasked with going to karens parents to pick up evas half of the rent since she was moving out. When my mom brought it back to eva she told my mom "this has nothing to do with you" my moms response was "yeah i know." They all went to Byrd jr high(do did my entire fsmily and myself). One time in jr high when missy was leaving the school she was jumpped (karen had it set up). Karen could not fight. She frequently asked my mom to fight for her. Karen had a thing for my dad (step) too. Thankfully she didnt dare touch my dad after my mom and him got together. Hes not named but shown in the lifetime movie. He rode a motorcycle too had a very distinct helmet. Thank you for getting this out there. Karen was brutal and no doubt it was premeditated. She dressed her daughter in missys clothing. Think about how small missy was. Her daughter ill call S(keep er out of it) was same age as me. So in 1985 she was 4 and was in Missys clothing and karen did her hair like missy. Any locals. Switzer falls is where she was. In fact the area looks almost identical now. Missys uncle was a sheriff had to help in locating/identifying her body. I dont member Laura she stayed away I vaguely remember Missy. But i have a hotrible flood of feelings when i think of Karen. The tapes she played. When Karen was at our house i wouls sneak down to watch my mom because i always thought she was going to hurt us. So strange. Mom says she never thought Karem really did it when they were friends because they were together that night (buts she knew deep down). Karen was setting my mom up as an alibi. My mom said "fuck no" when it came down to it. She called Karens dad the day she got arrested and my mom says "ill never forget the rxact words" he said "... She did it" (leaving moms name out too). I cant thank you enough. Theres a ton of things that are more inside and well not from karens mouth but yes this is ehat happened!
