Beautiful BRILLIANT Cut Solid BRONZE Diamond | Worlds Biggest Bronze Diamond

  • Today I'll be making a solid bronze brilliant cut diamond. I 3D printed a model of the diamond I wanted to make and made a two part mold of it in petrobond sand. I then melted bronze by mixing copper and tin together. I poured the molten metal into the mold. I finished by sanding and polishing it to give it a nice shine and finish. My good friend Perry over at Swdweeb made a similar one in aluminum. Go check out his video when you get a chance (See link below). @@Archiemonty Silver (AG) is currently at $25.07 per oz. Or roughly $806 / kilogram. 5.5 pounds of brass is approximately 2.5 kilograms. The difference in density between brass and silver is about 1.2 as a ratio, so approximately 3 kg of silver would be required for finished item. Assume only 10% extra was needed for gates & sprues. So please Patreon over the $2,660 USD so he can complete your suggestion in Silver.

    What's up Adrock? I don't know if you recall this or not but I suggested this about 2 years ago. It was back when you, Bigstackd and the veg oil guy used to do your friendly competions. I made the suggestion in each of your pages and nobody was interested at the time. Anyways, I'm glad you finally attempted it. Now I think you should try one in copper and another in aluminum. They'd look nice all together on your shelves. It wasn't flawless but it was pretty damn good for a first attempt! Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍✌

    How difficult is it to melt and cast with gold? I've heard you lose a lot of weight in the process and I was wondering if you had any experience.
    Edit: Also have you considered you using slag grip? You're already incredibly low on your loss per melt but slag grip would decrease it to practically 0. Just a thought brother

    • @honthirty_
      @honthirty_ 3 роки тому

      Could not find a stated cost for ASI international "slag grip" but it appears to be a proprieitary boro-silicate mixture used in LARGE comercial operations. Not a hobby level friendly material unless you could get "samples" shipped to you for evaluation purposes.

    Quick question, could I use moist dirt for casting? And I still can't thank you and bigstackd enough for being such a inspiration, thinking about making a video but I can't find my camera or tripod
    I'm watching ads 1/2 first ad is 5 minutes long so I hope it helps 🙏 (just finished video) nice bronze diamond man came out 🍻🍻

    • @robbiejames1540
      @robbiejames1540 3 роки тому

      Hi, I really doubt moist dirt would work well. This is due to all the flammable bits in dirt, like rotten wood and insects etc that will spoil your part, and that it is unlikely to hold it's shape well. The best thing to do is buy some bentonite clay for face masks on eBay (if you look hard enough, you can find it pretty cheap). Mix this with sand (I believe the ratio is 5 sand to one clay, but look it up). Add a small amount of water, and you have proper casting sand.

    long time melt guy. I have a question about the devil forge. What happens in the devil forge when the crucible leaks? I was thinking of upgrading to a new set up. I had a bad incident with bronze and a steel crucible once. I learned the hard way. Copper leaks out of steel. Cool Watching it happen. Not cool breaking it out.

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  3 роки тому +1

      Don’t use steel crucibles. They don’t last and that’s what’ll happen. You’ll make a mess in the devil forge as well if it leaks, however if you get the kaowool version it’s very easy to replace that
