In addition to all the backtracking, I think part of why SWSH's postgame feels so underwhelming is that we _just_ experienced a Dynamaxing crisis with Rose, so going through another feels kind of redundant. If the Darkest Day story had been folded into the postgame instead of being crammed into the main story's climax, I think it might've helped the game's overall pacing and felt like a worthy challenge for Galar's new champion. Our interactions with Sordward and Shielbert could then be limited to chasing them around for the Rusted Sword/Shield, and while it might be weird to essentially have 2 epilogues, at least it wouldn't feel like a complete retread of the previous conflict. Another small thing that bothers me about Sordward and Shielbert is that, despite apparently being famous royals, we don't hear anything about them during the main story which makes them feel especially tacked on. If they had been mentioned by some NPCs or referenced as one of the gym sponsors, I think it would drastically improve their presence in the region overall. (sidenote: I think their designs would've been better received if Sordward had a sword pompadour and Shielbert had a shield beard, or they otherwise resembled Zacian+Zamazenta's hair)
They get referenced exactly *once* in the main story: a generic NPC in one of the salons (iirc) alludes to them and their strange looking hair. Not even by name.
its not great, but its still better than the main story since you actually get to DO things. no ones shooing you away telling you to let the adults handle things…
Yes, how dare Leon, the champion of the region let a flipping child solve everything instead of handling it himself. Yeah, just give us Cynthia 2.0, that's way better. (And this coming from someone who likes Cynthia btw.)

Yes There are no new legendries, no new locations, no rematches or anything the player can do aside from the battle tower. Even SV allowed us to catch the paradox mon's afterwards and the treasures of ruin were likely still uncaught
@@GumCowtrue, actually crazy we cant get battle facilities anymore, instead we have trivial shinies everywhere and the least interesting world design tied with the wild areas in swsh. Honestly worse than the performance issues or story being so bland. At least theres still a good character here and there, banger tracks and lovable pokemon designs.
A neat detail about the SwSh post-game is that, during the post-game battles alongside the other notable NPCs, if you don't dynamax your Pokemon, one of the NPCs will, which doesn't normally happen. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances of the battles, they won't play their normal dynamax animation and instead play a greatly shortened animation where you see their Pokemon dynamaxing, and their face cheering in the corner. To my knowledge, the only other place that this animation plays is in the battle against Game Freak's Morimoto.

Actually, the post game story is pretty good. It finally wraps up Hop's character arc, while also expanding on Zacian & Zamazenta's role, along with how Swordward & Shieldbert's family tried to cover up what the doggos actually did to save the region and take all the credit for it. And the fact that Hop's able to obtain the other Legendary, along with believing in himself and finally stepping out of his brother's shadow was really dope. So no, I wouldn't really call it the "worst" post game man.

Say what you want about the dorks, but at least they more justified reasons for their actions. Believing you're the rightful heir to the Galar region and trying to reclaim the throne is much better than Rose refusing to wait for Leon's battle.
I more hate this for what it stands for, as the true post game of SWSH is meant to be the Isle of Armor/Crown Tundra, so this is where it was shifted from instead of having the post game as part of the actual game, make separate DLC to buy the post game, which would be fine of for both SWSH and SV they weren’t like 30 bucks
I honestly think a lot of people upset with it were just mad that it wasn’t good as USUM’s post game (even when _that_ was just a boatload of fanservice that didn’t even have a satisfying ending)
I legitimately hate these 2. "But no one else likes them so they're actually great characters", I feel like there's a threshold of how unlikable a character is before I just do not like them even though they're purpose is not to be liked. Nothing they say is interesting or funny, their designs are stupid and by the end I would've preferred our dog ate them.
This feels like an unpopular opinion, but I'm not a huge fan of Johto's post game just being a new Kanto. I see it as more of a promotional stunt for the franchise than an actually explorative experience, which is probably because Game Freak couldn't have realized how big Pokémon would become after Gold and Silver. Regardless, I feel like they could've done something a bit different than just copy-pasting another region while making some changes to Gym Leaders and having an admittedly iconic Red fight
Yes it’s bad. There’s nothing of substance besides catching the box legendary. No new locations or Pokémon to catch, the story is mediocre at best, and all packaged in a single hour of content.

One thing I didn't really like was Hop's development. I like Hop, he's cool, I just don't really get the vibe that from everything we see of him in the story that he would be a professor. It kinda felt like they didn't know how to give him a happy ending and just slapped the first profession they thought of.
So your opinion on Sword and Shield is not due to its quality but the fact that it’s your first game? My first game was Pearl and even I can admit it was slower than a snail’s pace.
Those two are pure camp that’s part of the fun I swear A lot of Pokémon fans have no sense of humor The duo are hilarious they’re supposed to be ridiculous Sometimes you guys need to just relax and EMBRACE THE CAMP
A yes, the game where post game was replaced with DLC
SV did it better
yeah the post game they sold as dlc was 35 dollars instead of 30 so they must’ve done it better

The lore accurate UK experience of encountering werid hobos that think they're royalty

It's really disappointing seeing the decline of the post game in Pokemon and the introduction of greedy dlc instead of giving the fans a complete game
