Thank you so much. We aren't cruising experts by any means and learn as we go. Hopefully what we learn and our mistakes can help others have a great cruise!
loved the video.. will be watching all of them because we will be on the same cruise in september. Le Bistro is my number one choice for a specialty restaurant
I’m glad that the covid test wasn’t too invasive. Anti elevator - I love this!! Your cabin looks really nice and functional. I didn’t think it looked too small, but definitely not more than two people in there!!! I didn’t know you could get adults cruises. This is a huge incentive.
It'll be different now since vaccines were approved for kids. NCL is continuing vaccination required cruises into the future, but that will more than likely include kids now. Still felt like a much more adult oriented line though.
@@ThisHappyPlaceTravel Very rainy....temps ranged from mid-40's to low 50's. Rained at all our stops....but we had rain gear and stayed dry. Only good extended sunny day was our last sea day heading back to Seattle. Everyone was doing the pools and water slides and the go-carts....we had to try 4 times to finally get to drive. Three of those times were due to weather. But we finally did it!! I did the the water slides Sunday and Friday...BLAST!!!
New subscriber. Found your channel while researching the NCL Encore. Sailing on her in February. First ever cruise for me. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos.
It's kind of fun watching these vlogs from guests. Pier agents really don't get to go on the ship. We just wake up extremely early, like 4 or 5am in the morning just to greet you guys when you get off the ship at roughly 7am. However, I got to ride the go-carts on the Bliss. It's a part time job for me. And usually i leave when we lock the doors. But someday maybe I myself will go on a cruise. A lot of check in agents are collefe students or retired professionals. And then you have mama's boys like me in their mid 40s who don't have a life. Lol. Most people to go college work until mid August. However, since I'm I'm my forties and going to college, I try to make every dime I can get. Lol. Hence, I'll greet customers until the Encore does her last Alaska trip on October 23rd.
Wow. Thanks for your view! The pier agents were all really nice and helpful. I can imagine it being a difficult job, especially with the new protocols, ppl being stressed and confused so thanks for what you do!
Thank you, you two did a great job, my wife and I and our two boys are cruising on the encore, were excited, your cabin would definitely be too tight for all of us ,so we've decided to journey to the suite category if we can afford, but we will also price adjoining cabins also, we look forward to viewing your other videos, thanks , Sincerely the ROJO FAMILY!
Your VLOG was great. You are both charming & easy to listen to. My hubs & I will cruise on the Encore to Alaska in Oct. We are booked in The Haven. Can’t wait. You sold me, I’m a subscriber.
Thank u soo much for ur informative videos about Norwegian Encore. Not a lot of Encore videos. I cruuse on this ship in July. Im a minimalist packer/carry on only. Can u tell me how many formal nights there were in reg dining room. Im planning my itinerary and dont want to plan specialty restaurants on formal night when the dining room options are better sometimes.
I'm pretty sure there was only one formal night last year but that may have changed (there was also a very large wedding party onboard so maybe they were dressed for that?). It definitely wasnt advertised anywhere that we saw that it was mandatory. We were unaware there were any and just wore regular clothes and it didn't seem to be an issue. Have an amazing trip!
We were told that there were 2800 ppl on board. I don't know if this has changed since August unfortunately. Most of the time things weren't crowded, but theater shows, getting off at late arrival ports and popular events could get REALLY busy. We just avoided those things if we could. Have a FANTASTIC trip!
We're taking the same cruise in June 2022 and we can't wait. Your videos are soooo helpful. I think our cabin will be very similar to yours if the room number is any indication. I was just wondering about the copper-color luggage set. Do you like it? Do you recommend it? Keep up the great work!
Oh, have an AMAZING time - you'll be sailing before you known it! I've had the luggage for about 3 years or so and I really like it. It's not anything fancy but it fits a ton (sometimes too much 😂) and is so easy to spot at the airport. It's held up pretty well to this point.
Hi, great videos! We are about to take the same cruise. When you said you dropped your luggage off prior to taking the Covid test, is that easy to find or is there signage indicating where to drop? Seems like a good idea to not have to drag luggage across to the Marriott and through the process.
There wasn't really signage, but it wasn't hard to find and there were a lot of attendants to ask. When you get to Pier 66 you'll see a set of stairs and behind that entrance to the building on your right (from Alaska Way) and Anthony's Pier 66 & Bell Street Diner on the left. If you head straight back between those two, they were collecting luggage there. We were there EARLY and there were already a ton of people dropping their luggage off so it's not hard to find. Have a FANTASTIC trip!
It wasn't bad. I could breeze through social media quickly. Didn't try anything more taxing. Just have to remember to turn it off or you'll use up the minutes even when you're not actively using it...did that a couple times.
For this Alaskan Cruise, according to most websites, yes, but it's HIGHLY recommended to bring a passport. For instance, a Canadian hospital would be the closest if there was an emergency. I would personally contact your cruiseline directly just to be sure!
Just watching this video from a few weeks ago and if those coctail prices were in AUD$ instead of the presumed USD$ I'd be drinking multiple cocktails a day as there are a steel they'd be so cheep coctail at or under AUD$ 17 Is a good deal in Australia. I so miss crusing hope I can go soon. David Young 36 Brisbane Australia
Lol! Yeah, cocktails weren't too pricey, plus we had the drink plan so...they were REALLY not pricey for us...they were included, haha! Hope you get back to cruising soon!
Hahaha, I had to think sooooo hard about what you were asking 😆 The 💩 was fine. Nothing super special, but the desserts were probably the highlight of the meal nonetheless!
You guys do such a good job of explaining everything. And I’m sure everyone appreciates that.
Thank you so much. We aren't cruising experts by any means and learn as we go. Hopefully what we learn and our mistakes can help others have a great cruise!

Was on the Sept 18th cruise....what a time!!! It was amazing and everything went really smoothly!! And I LOVE the ice cream in the Garden!!
So glad to hear you had a great trip! How was the weather in mid-September?

Oh, February will be here before you know it!
Thanks! Very informative for my Christmas cruise :)
Have an AMAZING time!
I'm way late to this video but we are going on encore this fall, what hotel did you stay at before cruise, did you walk to port?
We stayed at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront which was directly across from Pier 66. I think it's about as close as you can get!
@@ThisHappyPlaceTravel amazing thanks so much for your reply, I'm still watching your videos now!

Really smart move with a suite or two cabins. They're nice rooms but tight for sure. Have a wonderful cruise!
That blue pullover...HAIL TO PITT!!!!!
H2P!!!

Yeah, fine dining, and French food in particular, means small portions.
It just didn't impress us like I was expecting. We may have just made the wrong choice in restaurants or entrees though.
We are taking this cruise 1st week of October. Are there limits as to capacity? Did it seem "crowded" on board?
We were told that there were 2800 ppl on board. I don't know if this has changed since August unfortunately. Most of the time things weren't crowded, but theater shows, getting off at late arrival ports and popular events could get REALLY busy. We just avoided those things if we could. We go 4 people in a room always. Not a problem if you keep it picked up
You're a better person then us! We would have STRUGGLED with four ppl. But I do pack for 7 nights like I'm never returning home again so 🤷♀️🤣
Did NCL pay for the covid test or did y'all?
NCL did. I'm sure it was included in the price of the cruise, but we never saw those costs directly. It's all NCL, which was FANTASTIC.

Anti elevator, pro ice cream cone
Should go on Jake's resume for sure.
what was the internet connection like?
It wasn't bad. I could breeze through social media quickly. Didn't try anything more taxing. Just have to remember to turn it off or you'll use up the minutes even when you're not actively using it...did that a couple times.
When did you cruise?
This was August 21, this year.
Can I bring my ID instead of passport to board?
