I'm not a fan of Maguire's performances on the pitch, but anybody has to admire his professionalism and his willingness to fight for his place in the squad, and successfully doing so. I wish him all the best, he looked solid in his first match for United, and now he's finally finding form and reaching those levels again. I hope his current form is sustainable.

@@TheBharat-Talks Maguire was instrumental in the defence yesterday. In the Mudryk miss, he organised the defence so well. His composure and decision making has visibly improved, leading to less mistakes and becomes a reliable rotational option when Varane is unfit (which is like half the season)

Completely agree - you have to respect his mindset, because I'm not sure any player has received the amount of unwarranted criticism that Maguire has - crazy to see he got a standing ovation at Old Trafford when he was subbed off against Bayern yesterday

He's simplified his game and it's worked well. He's at his best when he's defending the 18 yard box, heading away crosses and blocking shots. He's playing to his strengths, and not being the captain is helping him

Y'know, I doubt he would receive this much hate if he would be bought with a much lower price. C'mon, lad was the most expensive center back out there at the time he left Leicester; of course any mistake coming from him with 80 million euros of a price WILL do him dirty like that.
The price tag never helped and to be honest I don't think anyone thought he was worth that at the time, so he was always gonna be scrutinised. I also think playing for Man Utd could impact any player's confidence/performance - most followed club on the planet, and fans and pundits can be unforgiving. We've seen it with Pogba, Sancho and even Ronaldo in recent years...
